DO NOT COME HERE. Whatever you do, don't come to this place. Turn around now if you are on the way. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Terrible service, terrible food, and the people that come to drink here are among the rudest most disgusting people in the world. One of them decided to pull down his pants and literally take a piss on my friend. Managers did nothing about it. There are plenty of other decent places in the city to go. This place is not one of them!!

Awesome fish & chips (the true test of a pub) get yer chips with a side of curry for awesome plus.
JohnJo's yet man behind the bar with a tidy pour and a friendly word.
All in all, a brilliant pub, altogether!

While I haven't eaten duck in every restaurant in the city, one would be hard pressed to find a better duck confit... especially when it's paired with lamb chops. Warm, friendly atmosphere, attentive service and great food. Couldn't ask for more.

I really enjoyed the food. The fried haddock sandwich was a little messy but fried to perfection. The atmosphere was a little off but I found the music very tasteful. I've heard a lot of good things from the other servers around Market Street and they definitely lived up to the hype, especially for early afternoon

Had my daughter and her friends graduation dinner here after ceremonies at LaSalle on Mothers Day. The service was beyond reproach and we were treated great. The food was spectacular. It's been awhile since I've been out to eat in a REAL restaurant with an actual CHEF preparing my meal instead of microwave cryopacked boil in bag processed food I guess some places refer to it as. Every aspect of our experience was pleasurable and I'm glad m daughter recommended this establishment for our celebration. Will definitely be back again even if it's just to get out of the house for an everyday meal. Thanks for putting the icing on a special day for all of us.

Absolutely love this neighborhood restaurant. I watched, throughout Covid, how they built a beautiful structure outside, warm and inviting, for their customers. The staff is always super-friendly. As a business owner, I can't help but think the feel good vibes come from 'the top'. One of the owners, Marion, always is so accommodating, and not only offers my standard poodle treats, when we visit, but also a blanket to lay on-and-take home! The food is always good and I love their Bailey's and Cream Coffee. A great solid neighborhood gem.

Excellent food. Nice atmosphere. Wine and whiskey was delicious. I had a tapas dish off the bar menu that was fabulous. Six of us dined and all had great food. Service was top notch. Nigel, from Ireland, was a helpful and friendly waiter. I want to go again.

Love this place. The food taste great, and the variety is nice. Had Sheppard pie and it's too die for! Lol
Beer selection by a bottle and can is big so is for the draft. Jen was our server and she is amazing and very knowledgeable about the food and alcohol menu. Place is big and clean. Including restrooms. Good spot for a lunch or after work drinks

I cannot recommend hosting a private event at Plough enough! I recently hosted a corporate holiday happy hour there, and everything was amazing. Marion was a dream to work with and helped us make sure everything is perfect. We had a beautiful location right next to the Christmas tree, and in front of the fireplace. But the best part was the service and the food. Our servers were so attentive all night, and everyone ate their weight in the greatest fish and chips this side of the Atlantic. Affordable and unbeatable - can't recommend hosting a party here enough!!!

The staff was fantastic, from the Maitre D to the waitress, they were very friendly. The service was top notch, with the food coming out exactly as ordered and in good time. The food wasn't five star (probably three or four stars) but the service and ambiance made up the difference to bring it up to five stars in my opinion.

The building is almost passable when walking by. Inside it's nice looking however if you're loooking for a bite to eat this isn't the place for it. $9 for. 2 "Irish Bangers" which aren't actually bangers. Curry fries are just fries with a barbacue-esq sauce for $5. Might get better service on another day. Drinks are decent though.

Nice little place with a romantic atmosphere. Charging wood burning fire place, upper level that looks out over the restaurant Ann's tons of Irish whiskey are just a couple of the perks. Great date night restaurant.

Great food. I went with my boyfriend and his parents. They lived in Scotland for many years and couldn't get over how the food took them back to those days. It was fabulous. Great food great service. We will definitely be back.

Fun dancing! A bunch of college kids were there dancing, drinking and partying and my husband and I dance all night. A really good time for people who are in Philadelphia to travel and want to just have a crazy fun time. We are local but was fun!

This food was so wonderful! We didn't have a reservation, but still got great seats in front of the fireplace. Fresh flowers on the table and selective lighting made us feel special. And the food! It was so, so good. My sister & I split the rack of lamb, so we had room to share a bread pudding for dessert.

friendly, creative menu features changing specials and seasonal fare. atmosphere is that of a fine irish pub that is customer focused and obviously "carefuly watched over" by the owner. no irish pub chain or "paddies plates" here, just great food with a touch of fun! oh yea there is spontanious entertainment at buruch by locals who play real irish music. ah sure and it's just like home!

I ve enjoyed many great lunches at The Plough & the Stars and today was no exception.

This is a sturdy, rustic restaurant and bar in the historic section of Philadelphia. On cool days a wood fireplace warms the room and creates an atmosphere unique to historic Philly. While sitting at lunch you feel that at any moment a bank president, bike messenger or Ben Franklin himself could walk through the door.

Lunch comes with artisan bread and artisan butter. The poached pear salad is a favorite of mine, but you can t go wrong with any old world delights on the menu.

Food and drinks were good. The waitress was kind and friendly. I rate this place 3 stars because the guard at the entrance made me and my boyfriend fell quite uncomfortable when he asked for our IDs. First when we got into the place he asked for IDs, until there that's fine. But then, when we were already seated he came to our table and sat down with us, asked if we had any other IDs so he could confirm we were ourselves (we had showed him our driver's licenses). He even asked for my Facebook account! It was really awkward. I understand it's his job to make sure everything's ok but that scene wasn't really necessary.

Plough and Stars is a decent bar, good drinks decent beer selection, and a solid wing game. The menu is a little upscale, but everything I've had from there is delicious. They also do quizzo on Mondays which is always really fun. However some of the seating is a little strange.

Went on a Sunday to watch the live Irish music for a school paper and it was amazing. The atmosphere was laid back and welcoming, the service was wonderful, the food was awesome and the live music was at the perfect sound level and had a truely traditional sound.

This is a nice pub. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Place is clean. Food is tasty and cooked well. Large beverage selection. It has a great histotic atmosphere. Prices are a little high, but its Philly. The place has limited space and can get very crowded. Overall, I recommend.

Being in the heart of the historic district I thought that it would be a great place for a Full Irish and a pint to start a full day of exploring, but it was sorely lacking. The service for a Sunday brunch was slow to non existent. The food was on point, but I was very distressed to be served before the kids (ages 6 and 8).
Not planning to hold this day time 'family' experience against the establishment as it seems it's far more geared toward couples and nighttime meals.
