Pretty solid 5 star. Was there for the first time with a group of people finding the experience excellent. Servers were on top of things, food was served hot and fresh. Most important thing to me. The atmosphere was great. The only downside was the address: 123 Chestnut with the entrance being on 2nd street. Took a couple of minutes to figure that out.

Food was great. The server was very nice and helpful, however the food was slow coming out for a lunch break. Overall... I would come back again. Thanks
There online menu needs to match what they sell in the restaurant...Don't seem to be the friendliest people in the world. They won't get anymore of these Rations
Great place for a drink. They do so much for us Veterans there. They are our starting and finishing point for the Irreverent Warriors hike aka the Silkies hike. They are always the most hospitable people and allow us to get our evebt off the ground and running smoothly to end veteran suicide.
Awesome pub. You gotta love the Xnas Trwe the fire place and Irish music in Sundays. They have awesome food. You wouldn't think the food would be so good in an Irish pub but it tuely is. My family also hd Thanksgiving dinner here and lived it. New post 5/21. Always a great place. Check out Sunday evenings Irish Music
Waitresses were very friendly and the service was great. But should definitely get rid of their stupid wings. They are the worst chicken wings I've ever had in my 15 years of eating wings.
The staff here is tremendous, friendly and go out of their way for you. First time ever eating here and this establishment just earned some long time repeat customers.
Wonderful as usual. Great Guinness pours. Lots of good beers on tap. Fireplace going bigtime & place is beautiful and relaxing. Wonderful owners too. GO !
Today s devours led me to @theploughphilly . Today, marks the first time I ve ever been to an Irish Festival . The server was pretty cool and very down to earth and help me walk through the menu. Wow here I ordered a shrimp cocktail, lamb lolly chops with potatoes and the shrimp curry with potatoes. The shrimp cocktail was simply amazing. It was the first time I ve ever had shrimp cocktail in the shrimp or actually hot! LOL then the lamb leg shops ordered medium well were absolutely astonishing. The meat was super tender and they were cooked to perfection. The potatoes were perfect. The shrimp curry was very flavorful and full of taste! If you ever find yourself in old city and wanting some very affordable yet something different please check out @theploughphilly and tell the waitress that shimmy sent you!!!! #food #foodie #foodphotography #foodstagram #foodblogger #philadelphia #philly #shrimp #curry #lamb #water #guinessbeer #potatoes #rice #seafood
I adore this place. I used to go busking playing violin across the st(10 years ago) and I was invited in and adore the food and atmosphere. The drinks are great, service is great but what is the most special part is the music. The wonderful jam on Sunday is such a amazing thing. It's one of those things that makes life really enjoyable. Be safe through these times and I patiently await it's return
We just had a great experience here. The waitress Jen was the main reason we had such a good time. She was kind, helpful, and bubbly. She checked in on us regularly and was very attentive with our table. This is the pinnacle of customer service.
The waitress came out and offered us two types of bread to start, one sweet one savory. The food came out quick. We each ordered a shepherds pie which was very tasty. I got an order of chicken tenders which were honestly perfect. They were juicy on the inside and perfectly crispy without having too much batter on the outside. It didn t come with french fries; however, there was a bunch of tenders. I was amazed though, if I m ever craving chicken tenders again this will be my go to spot.
We sat outside and it was very pleasant with the exception of a little rain towards the end. The food looked so good that we had several people approach us to ask what we were eating. A bus driver even stuck her body out the bus window because she wanted to know what we ordered.
Great atmosphere. Good prices. Good food and drinks. Not sure if he was the owner or just the manager but we talked to a man in his 50s or 60s with an Irish accent that was very nice and friendly. He made us feel like we would be taken care of as soon as we came in.
The hostess for late night Saturday is extremely rude! People like her should not be working in this profession if they don't know how to politely interact with patrons.
The wonderful owner welcomed us like family, and so we returned almost every evening during our stay in Philly. Great cocktails, and the lamb lollies are superb!
Such an awesome place, the food was wonderful and so was the service. It has an almost rustic atmosphere so you have plenty to look at. Also has outside seating so pets are welcome which was so cool!
Nice homey pub, with good beer and the service was great. Food was good and plentiful. The only downside was the wood fire they had going. It filled the room with a lot of wood smoke which ended up in our clothes.
Awesome location and super friendly service. The staff is extremely accomodating and the food was on point. Though we were a very large group, the servers were quick, attentive, and very welcoming. If im the area, I would highly recommend a visit.
My friend and I went for restaurant week and we chose it because of previous reviews and their menu. We had the mussels, baby rack of lamb and their dessert sampler which was a chocolate mousse cup (like a Reese's cup w/out peanut butter) and a creme brulee. The food was great. We were full after all of the bread which was really good and fresh. On the bright side, I have lunch for tomorrow! The sangria was tasty as well. I'll be going back to try other dishes on their menu.
I have to give it up for Chef Lenka! I had an amazing vegan meal with my girlfriend that was so delicately flavored and beautifully presented. Management was really good about keeping an eye on the tables and making sure customers were happy and the chef even came out to chat with us and explain the dishes! Since I've only eaten here this one time and my meal was totally vegan, I can't comment on the rest of the food -though I hope for everyone else's sake it is just as good! We sat outside to eat and were serenaded by a guitarist across the street. Our waitress, whose name I think started with an F (Francesca???) (Blond, dark eye makeup, and an infectious smile and enthusiasm) was terrific at making recommendations, checking back with us without being intrusive, and was even honest about not knowing about one of the beers I asked about. God, how I appreciate honesty! She went to ask the manager who confirmed the recommendation based on our tastes. Great dining experience!
Fantastic place to eat in the city. They have incredible food, amazing service, and ambiance is top notch. It can be a little expensive to eat, but if you want a good selection of food this is a good choice. Typically the weekends can be crowded with the drinking crowd, and sport nights tend be a little crazy. But coming here on a weeknight is nice and quiet. Definitely would recommend this place for date night or just a good place to drink with friends.
I have been here dozens of times over the years. By myself, with my wife, with my sons, for work. Always a great meal. Sensational service and hospitality and good prices. Live music a lot of the time. Check on what menus are offered on the weekend and when. We came at an in between time on a Sunday and ended up between menus. So some of their landmark meals were not available. But just check and you ll be fine.
Excellent service in a wonderful atmosphere. A very low noise level even with the beautiful live music. Good draft beer selection. Their Half & Half, as well as their Black & Tan were authentic.
Got together on a Friday evening with friends I hadn't seen on a long time. The upstairs area wasn't crowded, and gave us both privacy and a nice view. It was fairly inexpensive (entrees start at $20, desserts $7, house wine $7) and the food was very good, portions were generous and the server very attentive. The only off note was a chardonnay by the glass, canyon something, which a friend did not find drinkable. I found street parking for$2.50/hour close by so look before paying for a garage.
Ordered the fried fish with fries. I was surprised that it didn t come with a lemon, coleslaw, or a fresh side. It was good, but very filling as the batter is pretty thick. Friendly service. Outdoor seating available.
I went here for restaurant week and it was very good. I absolutely love the Halloween decorations up for October. The restaurant has a very rustic and homey atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious food. Will definitely be coming back when I get the chance.
One of my go-to places for dining whenever I'm in Philly. Beautiful restaurant with a fireplace live Irish music on Sundays wonderful. Food is absolutely delicious as well.
Great Irish Pub, Authentic and the wait staff is amazing! You walk in and you feel like you are in Ireland. I had my 21st birthday here 19 years ago and the Pub has only gotten better!
