You can take food and drinks in, no glass or alcohol. Take snacks, but don't feed the animals!
My kids love this zoo. Great location, well laid out. Plenty of activities.
Great place to go with the family, nice place to walk around and see some amazing animals. Lots of well shaded resting areas.
Great place to bring the kids and adults. Wear good walking shoes. Lots to see.
Loved the zoo lights! They keep getting better each year!
I have always enjoyed going to this zoo! They have a nice paved path which is very nice to keep a little cleaner. The food is actually decent here as well. Even though you are allowed to bring your own food. Unfortunately the bees have been crazy during January, they were all over the outdoor eating area. Nice selection of animals and most are fairly easy to see!
People that go to the zoo "I love taking my family to the zoo! we love seeing animals being locked up and not in the wild. They also sell great food like Animals. Yeah I love animals but I think it's okay to eat them" no logic. You people are BRAINWASHED. Please educate yourselves
Great zoo, but we went during the holidays and the number of animals out to view was limited during the day/ afternoon. Not sure if the were resting during day and active at night or keeping some animals inside tp being out at night? Still great visit with mostly larger enclosures
I have been to the Phoenix Zoo once a year the last 4 years and this is the first time for me to see the Christmas Zoo Lights.
Watching the children, their parents enjoy the Zoo light exhibit during this time of year is a real treat. The truly Spectacular array and arrangements of the lights (and other surprises) on the chilly December night of our visit was well worth the noise, the traffic and the parking scrambles. This Christmas season, bring your family and a wear a sweater to the Phoenix Zoo and arrive early to experience the Zoo Lights and...unless you are a bah humbug... a good time was had by all!
Wonderful experience. Look for an article in the Phoenix May edition of the Bear Essential News For Kids! I will write about the "Bugs Big Bugs" exhibit!
Top Place where's the animals were not sleep all the time but it's good for the children
have you ever visited a zoo of dreams? No? This is your chance then because phx zoo is probably the best zoo I've been to out of the 16 states I've lived in! The food there is to die for aswell and the staff is super helpful! You can purchase all kinds of wonderful memorabilia and there is more than a weeks worth of fun to be had here! Bring your whole family, even the ones your dont like because maybe the experience is that awakening that you may become friends!
Excellent zoo with a wide variety of animals, birds and reptiles. Easy wide walkways, lots of interactive exhibits.
Great place to get away from reality and the busy world we know!
I love going to the zoo. The animals are beautiful and my little girl loves learning about them. Though not as bad as some, with everything inside you are asked for more money. Everywhere you go anymore you pay to get in then it is another fee per 10 feet. $5 here and there it a lot.
Good place to go with the kids, I go once a year in October and is great.
The Christmas lights were beautiful and kept with the zoo theme. Snacks available at reasonable price.
Shuttle to zoo very efficient and courteous.
Beautiful light displays
Well worth the admission
By far the best holiday event to share with the fam - Zoo of Lights!
The zoo is a great place for the family. The animals are well cared for and active. Lots of things to see.
Friendly staff, and you can bring in your on food and water.
The zoo was really fun. The kids had a blast riding the camel and going through the dinosaurs area. The prices are not unreasonable we bought everything at the front so we didnt have to pay as we went. Overall i was very happy with this zoo and will recomend it to freinds and family. My only reason for not giving the 5th star was the Savannah Grill. We went over our order 3 times and it was still wrong. When I went back to the lady for some help she rolled her eyes and told me I would have to wait for her to help me. Very unprofessional and rude but you can't hold 1 person against the entire zoo.
GREAT PLACE AND WE WILL BE BACK NEXT TIME WE ARE IN PHOENIX
Scam!!! Please be aware that they charge you 50.00 a person to get in, then charge around 5 dollars extra per attraction to do things like see bugs, and see their manta rays.
A beautiful zoo.
If you have to choose between the 2 zoos in Phoenix this is the easy choice.
The enclosures are clean, big and natural and there are some very unique exhibits that I have not seen elsewhere.
Zoo has many animals & so many beautiful desert plants. Plan to spend the day there as much to see!
Bugs! "BIG BUGS!", NOT actual living insects, but big plastic models. You can see the real insects without paying extra, just general admission will get you the real ones to see.
We love seeing the animals here. They all seem so healthy and well cared for. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and fun to learn from. The food and beverage kiosks are great and plentiful. A great way to spend the day.
Great hikes you can even take a train ride if you'd like this is been a great experience
Fantastic zoo, you can even ride a camel if you'd like
As a member I enjoy the zoo on every visit. I only wish I had more time to go.
I've been taking my to baby's here for the last ten years and it never gets old... We can't wait for ZOO LIGHTS this year
Great place to take your kids. Wish the food was a bit better quality.
Excellent and dynamic place to go alone or with family
We visited the Phoenix Zoo recently to celebrate my son's birthday. We had a great time! The zoo is clean and well maintained. The staff is fantastic! My sister-in-law is blind. Often when we go places she is refused special experiences because of her blindness. For example, while on a cruise, she was refused permission to get out of the boat on a snorkeling tour even though she is a strong swimmer. But the zoo was incredibly accommodating! She was able to do the giraffe and camel experience. The staff with the camels even let us pet the camel and give him a kiss! We had an amazing time!
As always, my family enjoyed their day at the Phoenix Zoo
Doesn't quite compared to the San Diego Zoo with attractions and Military isn't free like the San Diego Zoo. Its little overpriced for what you get unfortunately staff seems very friendly though
Decent prices. Nice to be able to fully customize your pizza. It is pretty much the Subway for pizzas.
Large, very well taken care of zoo, you can tell by how they have the exhibits set up that they truly care about their animals, loved the birds the most as they had some species I had never seen before. Great for all ages and price isn't eye gouging!
Big zoo with a large selection of wildlife. Interesting signs and information boards throughout the zoo. Vending machines available for drinks and snacks. Some features closed but are planning to reopen soon.
The Phoenix zoo is so much fun and great for the entire family
I saw the christmas light event at this zoo and it was an all-round great time
The kids enjoy it, but it seems there's more walking around than actual animal viewing.
Too much walking. All the animals were asleep. Only good thing was the sting rays.
Zoolights is amazing with more desert themes and 3 D creatures
Amazing, always is, lots of new animals and attractions. Really liked the bugs! Always love the tiger as well. Kids school went and had such a lovely time :)
Nice zoo... you'll really benefit from arriving early to really enjoy the animals
We went for the zoo lights and they didn't disappoint. Everything is covered in lights. Everything! There is also a light show on the lake synchronized to music. Great fun and the kids loved it.
Love this place. Only issue was it was a weekday and most of the concessions were closed.
We're planing our upcoming visit to Phoenix and I've heard may good thing about this zoo. While looking at there website I see $3 admission for EBT card holders. This alone is the reason I will NEVER visit your zoo. This is so unfair that I will need to pay full price for my family and myself and these people who receive so much already can get in for almost 90% off. What a disgrace. How sad.
kettle corn was scrumptious and the animals were mostly all sleeping some too hidden to glimpse at
Beautiful place needs more attractions for daily members it's just gets old quick
Went to see the Zoo Lights the other day. Wasn t too packed since it was a weekday. GREAT light display and still full of exhibits to look through. 4D movie showings of some Christmas classics. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to have some fun seeing some Christmas lights. Great for families.
Kinda pricey, parking is horrible BUT it's worth it once you get inside lots to Do. Stingrays, merry go round, dinosaur exhibit, plus all the animals, the 4 k theater and the train it was great
Though the area of the zoo is too some extent short than other but it is good. And I like it
I love this place. The membership seems to buy less and less. That really stinks, but I still love it.
I love that they are creating educational animal shows. The 4D theater is fun! The splash pads in the summer are a must.
I love that it has steep hills so I can get some exercise. There is so much more.
My boys adore this zoo. The larger animals have plenty of space to room, they seem happy. I hope they expand the exhibits in the future!
Cleanest zoo ever visited not long walks from one exhibit t next and exotic animals
Early mornings are the best time to go the animals are most active. Membership is a good value.
Polite and courteous staff, tour was somewhat entertaining, and several activities available for all age groups.
Disappointed in many of the exhibits being remodeled plus many of the push button info stations do not work. Was disappointing enough that the exhibits were close but if you can't even listen to it more information it's even more disappointing
Fun place for the kids newly renovated friendly staff
Reptile enclosures need updated, otherwise it's a good zoo. Went during the bug exhibit and that was definitely not worth with extra money. A few mechanical bugs, which were kinda cool, but then only 5 live bugs in poor enclosures with little information on them and staff with little knowledge on each species.
I like the dinosaurs exhibition. There were very well made. Phoenix Zoo is a great place to spend with family and friends.
Great place to take kids and see the animals. Plenty of animals to see.
This zoo is a wonderful place we have been here 3 times will go again soon
This zoo is very expensive from the entrance fee to the cost of food. The animals are well taken care of and are always good to see.
I get the membership every year. There is always something going on at the zoo. My kids love it.
