We were at the rooftop bar, the drinks were prohibitively expensive. Service was good but not personable. Walls around the rooftop area took away most of the appeal of the rooftop bar.

My favorite place to have a cigar on the rooftop bar
My lychee martini was delicious and the rooftop views are very nice
Had an incredible stay here in early December - the hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our room looked over 5th Avenue and was so spacious and luxurious, equipped with everything you'd expect from a 5 star hotel.
We especially enjoyed the view from the pool area on the 23rd floor where you can look right down 5th Avenue to Central Park and also downtown. The pool itself is a little chilly so didn't swim much, but you can help yourself to tea, coffee and water and enjoy reading the newspaper on the loungers around the pool while enjoying the incredible views. The spa facilities are also wonderful - they have a discount during the week for hotel guests which made the treatments a little more affordable.
I find it unfortunate that I can not book tables at the Ning Lounge. The setting is nice but the service is not really at the rendezvous because you have to register on a Waiting list without the possibility of booking upstream. That does not make sense. The porters are on the other hand very friendly and the interior of the hotel relatively grand. It will easily earn more stars when it accepts reservations including terrace. There I found it too crowded to really be worth it.
Nice hotel, great service! I was there for 2 nights, but I would stay there again. I advise!
Set among 5th Avenue's iconic shops, this sophisticated landmark hotel dating from 1905 is a 6-minute walk from Central Park and the 5 Av/59 St subway stop.
The elegant rooms offer marble bathrooms, free Wi-Fi and desks, plus flat-screen TVs with DVD players. Upgraded rooms include city views, fireplaces and soaking tubs. Suites add living areas and complimentary chauffeur service. Room service is available.
There's a polished fine-dining restaurant, and a chic rooftop bar with a terrace and city views, as well as a cocktail bar, and a lounge serving afternoon tea. Other amenities include a fitness center, and a sleek spa with an indoor pool.
Top notch. Great rooms, excellent service and staff
We have made it an annual holiday trip to stay at the Peninsula because of it s close proximity to the park, shopping and their Jr. Suite for the family. Coming over the holidays with their beautiful decorations really gets you in the spirit. Come during Christmas and the have an amazing candy store in the Lobby for the kids.
We were in the great roof terrace bar. Great view, totally comfortable, delicious drinks ...
Bar staff was friendly and attentive. Souffle was great
Very nice, it reminds me of the Ritz Carlton. The pool and spa is ridiculous! The restaurant was very good, and it was nice to use the car service to go shopping.
It was my first time there and the atmosphere when you first step in was beautiful! The staff were all very attentive and helpful. I was given a table right away and got a drink within a few minutes. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
I walked by but did not enter. Outside looked very nice though!
During my stay at the Peninsula Hotel there was a mistake where my son and I were accidently moved to another room without our knowledge. The general manager, Jonathan H. Crook, quickly addressed the situation and apologized for the mistake. It is a beautiful hotel with a professional staff and in a great New York location.
Nice hotel overlooking 5th Avenue. Ideal for those who love shopping. Helpful staff. Elegant rooms. A nice bar is perched on the top floor and offers a great view of the city. Flat, the entrance to the hotel is blah!
The Peninsula was nice. Very open and accommodating area and the vicinity of shops that are relevant to the average consumer are good. Overall a good experience.
Will not be inexpensive but you can find 5 star service
I have been traveling all over the world and my experience here was by far the best. The service was second to none! My wife and I were there for a day and asked for a great place to eat in New York. They recommended a place within walking distance that overlooked Central Park. They called the restaurant for us and when we got there, they had 2 glasses of champagne waiting for us when we got to our table.
The room was very nice and the view was unreal! I absolutely loved my stay here!
We enjoyed ourselves greatly, the room was beautiful, the halls and entrance were very nice. The hotel staff were very helpful and courteous.
Good, albeit expensive, cocktails in a quiet rooftop bar. Not the best view in NYC but a more refined location than some.
Beautiful hotel in Midtown Manhattan. The location is perfect, 5th Ave. & 55th.
The room was big enough, we got an excellent promotion at booking so it worked perfectly!
The staff was really nice, the only negative highlight is that breakfast is not included in full! You have a credit for each room and you need to pay the difference.
Beautiful hotel in the middle of Manhattan. The location is perfect, 5th Avenue and 55.
The room was big enough, and we got an excellent promotion with Booking so that was great!
Super friendly employees, the only negative to note is that breakfast is not included at all. That is, you have a credit for your room and you have to pay the difference.
Excellent rooftop bar, but service is terribly unprofessional for the price tag. Seated in front of the bartender, we heard the waiters talk lewdly to the bartender about the girl customers like waaay too frequently.
Great view from the rooftop bar! Service is good. Wish the bar had a little better selection, but you aren't really there for the drinks. All about the view.
One of the best place you can be in New York 100/10
Excellent service. Room and general hotel quality both high.
Great place! The spa includes a relaxation room, tea room, sauna, heat room, showers, and access to the pool and roof deck. Very relaxing and good value for money!
Bar at Clement is located inside of the Peninsula Hotel once you walk in it is very inviting. As you are seated you are greeted with a warm welcome. Upon ordering a drink my bartender brought plates of cheese, olives and mixed nuts. It was a very intimate place and I recommend it as a date night.
This is a lovely hotel in a killer location. Right on 5th avenue it's the perfect base to stay when visiting New York. You couldn't ask for a better location for a shopping trip with the largest shopping street in the world on the door step. The atmosphere in the hotel is one of old New York charm. The associates are polite and friendly and the food in the restaurant is top draw. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and given the craziness of the street below I found them very quiet. The showers were warm and the bed was extremely comfortable. Would definitely stay here again when visiting New York.
Luxurious, historic hotel right on Fifth Ave in Midtown Manhattan.
Fabulous stay..
Pool overlooking 5th is something special.
Beautiful hotel, with very pleasant and helpful staff
The most amazing hotel and staff ..... in every way
Amazing hotel, central to everything and great service
### Great little bar for drinks for Betty and I.
Perfect evening . Great bartenders.
Beautiful hotel too!
Honestly one of the best spa experiences I've had in a long time. Definitely the best day spa I've attended in NYC. I had a 90 minute MBR facial with Lumi, who has to be one of the sweetest estheticians I've ever met. She did such an amazing job on my skin, it really looked so radiant after the session. I will definitely be seeing her again. After my facial I had a nice bento box lunch up by the pool area which was light and delicious. They had a few different choices to pick from on the menu, I also had a sparking water. I also had some pita bread, hummus, olives and cheese while I waited for my next appointment which was a 90 minute pearl infused body mask with William. Originally upon checking in I was told both my appointments were being done by female therapists but I was so pleasantly surprised by William and had no issue it turned out to be a male for my last appointment. He is experienced, was so very pleasant, and he did amazing body work. He really made the session a treat. The spa today really was a nice time. All employees really made me feel welcome. The moment you step off the elevator to check in you can smell how clean the spa is kept and all the nice aromas. I got there an hour early so I could enjoy the sauna and aromatherapy steam room before my appointments and I loved them too. The locker room is clean, they had lots of amenities, toiletries, towels, shampoos, lotions, blow dryers, refreshments in the lounge area, coconut water, a relaxation room and delicious teas. If you want to be pampered and treated like a queen for a day by yourself or with family or friends I highly recommend The Peninsula Spa.
Disappointing. Feels like never was renovated since built. Rooms and public areas should be cleaner. I put on "do not disturb", but when came back from a walk there was a stuff in my room! The bar on the rooftop is not for hotel guests, I came there and was no available place there. Peninsula? Not in NY!
Bar is top notch hang for destressing. Great bar snacks served with drinks.
Brilliant rooftop bar with excellent views over city.....only downside is we got told wrong opening time by staff in lobby of hotel, so it was packed and struggled to get in, when we arrived!
The Peninsula boasts a central location in Midtown at the top of Fifth Avenue. Very friendly staff in all areas, whether concierge, reception, bar or in-room dining. This hotel is 'Very New York'. I felt very well.
Very good service , but like everywhere in USA you need to tip. I think it just horrible
Well-furnished rooms, modern feel, and a friendly service deserve a five-star, despite it being a bank-breaking experience.
Went to the Ning. Great view and setting but very expensive.
5 well-deserved stars for a 5 stars hotel. my best hotel experience so far, I absolutely loved it. The staff, the food, the room were amazing.
One of the best hotels in NYC, location is epic !
Great drinks and spectacular views from the rooftop bar!
Love the location and good place for dinner and drink at happy hour.
LOOK FOR ROOFTOP BAR. I WOULD GO BACK JUST FOR THAT
No matter where in the world the are amongst the best.
I know this place is a legend but I was underwhelmed. Some things were a bit strange too. When they took down our beds in the evening they left the TV on. This felt strange when coming back to our room to have the sound of the TV it made it seem as if someone was there.
Also many items were in need of repair, seemed a bit run down. Great location though.
The views are awesome, the food is great, and the rooms are nice.
The view was spectacular! Not too uptight, plenty of space to enjoy the view. Worth the price.
Never been in there.. but from the outside its nice, i work across the street so i always see that building..
Hotel is kind of falling apart and desperately needs updating. The service, as you will have at ANY peninsula hotel, is absolutely phenomenal. I love this chain for this reason alone. But for what they cost, y all need to make some serious renovations.
We loved this location because of the warm reception, wonderful breakfast, and proximity to our meetings. The front desk was very friendly and helpful, directing us to local restaurants with excellent, reasonably priced meals.

Great stay for a NYC extended weekend girls trip. Excellent service, the spa was a great retreat and rooftop was such a pleasure.
The thing that struck me the most is that the people at Peninsula make it look so effortless. I suppose I'd see the same thing at most if not all the big-name hoity-toity hotels, but it sure is fun to watch at Peninsula.
I live near by and like the ambiance here but drinks are forty bucks each so unless you're willing to spend several hundred dollars in a few drinks this isn't for you
Very nice place, very touristy, many clothing stores, restaurants, et cetera.
The best experience I had. Had a girls day here and we enjoyed the services and the extra amenities.
The feel and the view is amazing. Definitely visit again.
