We had our wedding reception at The Peasant at the end of June. From start to finish dealing with Nick and his team was a pleasure. We had complete confidence that everything was under control which meant we could relax and enjoy our special day. The venue is a traditional London pub with lots of character and having the place to ourselves was wonderful - they have a great template there for the day which meant everything ran like clockwork. The staff were attentive and friendly and Nick s food and drinks suggestions spot on. Feedback from guests about the menu was that it was fantastic - particularly having so much choice and all of the dishes were delicious. Lee, the DJ who was recommended to us was great and really got the party started - we will never forget the conga through the bar at the end of the night! The only downside is that the day went by so quickly and we wish we could do it all again. Thank you The Peasant!

I remember back in the days when me and my friends used to hang out at The Peasant after school. A couple of days ago I went there to refresh my memory and guess what - everything is still the same, well the decor has improved, but I felt young again.

Nice old Pub about 10 minutos stroll from Sadler's Wells. Excellent food, reasonably priced. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Good alternative to similar establishments closer to Sadler's Wells, which are often booked out prior to performances.

Nice pub, especially for the restaurant at the first floor, great atmosphere and tasty food. You can also book the whole pub for a night if you need a venue to celebrate company or personal events.

Nice atmosphere, good choice of beers and quite decent food for the UK, still quite expensive ... for 1 bistro but we are in London. Be careful, noisy and you may have to share your table with strangers, different styles of tables => classic round and rectangular tables but also lounge style coffee tables and high bar counters. Friendly welcome and good varied music.

I ve been past this pub so many times over the years. It looks so inviting and today I made it in for Sunday lunch. It was just as good looking on the inside (circus themed prints all over the walls) and the best roast meals I ve had in years. Plentiful portions, my beef was rare and tender and my companion had a large piece of belly pork which was also delicious. Giant Yorkshire puddings and a good selection of vegetables and roasties too. The puddings were equally tasty. The staff were also lovely, just the right amount of attention and very friendly.

Nice Sunday lunch...traditional pub downstairs with dining and dining room with a couple of large tables upstairs. Attentive staff...ran out of several desserts on the Sunday I went which was a let down especially as it was only 3pm.

Really really love this place. Beautiful pub, the roasts are SO GOOD and absolutely massive portions so it is great value. The staff are always lovely and super helpful. One of our favourite pubs and Sunday roasts in London

Went here for a Sunday roast. Not too crowded and didn't need to book. It was a bit awkward and slow ordering but the food came nice and quickly. Amazing Yorkshire puddings and great roast potatoes. However the serving was so generous it ruined the showtime. I was worried about wasting food and had to leave half the pork and felt over full. Shame to serve more food than people can eat and have so much waste!

We had our wedding at The Peasant last year - such a lovely dining room upstairs and love the pub atmosphere downstairs. Nick and his staff were so amazing - they really looked after our guests and the food was just delicious. Highly recommended!

Just walked past it five years to the day that we had our party there was great to see that The Peasant is still popular for wedding receptions/functions. I'm sure Nick and his staff will be doing everything to make the party that's going on today as good as ours was. Friendly staff, great food and service all contributed to us having a wonderful day I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Food was lukewarm, found a white hair, ribs was alright, salad tasted and smelled a little funny, coleslaw was not bad, chips were good but couldn't been better if they were hot! Service was good

Wandered in on a Sunday afternoon and were lucky enough to have a table available! Ordered the pork belly and chicken roasts plus some mulled wine and boy oh boy was it delicious. The roasts arrived in about 5 minutes, and were definitely some of the best roasts we've ever had. Everything cooked to perfection, fresh and beautifully presented. Perfect sized portions and well priced. The staff were super efficient and quick, as well as friendly. Had the orange floorless cake for dessert which I found a little too bitter for my tastes and the clotted cream too thick, but still enjoyable overall. Would definitely recommend for a Sunday roast!

Two of us had a lovely lunch on Sunday, we did phone ahead but there were plenty of spare tables. We both had the roast pork which was lovely. In fact everything about the meal was lovely and I could have eaten it again. I certainly didn't think there was too much food on the plate, just the right amount. Staff were very friendly and we are definitely returning.

First visit - not a great experience.

First visit - not a great experience.

Quite an imposing sign at the entrance saying that you will be seated... Before I'd had a chance to take in that warm welcome the waiter told me to take the table in the window by the door - not the best place for me due to the draughts, but great for him on a quiet Sunday as I was visible from the street - oldest restaurant trick in the book to use customers to make the place look full..

It wasn't busy and I saw a more comfortable table I wanted to move to, so I tried to get his (or anyone else serving's) attention for several minutes. Impossible - and then a couple walked in and asked to sit there which he accommodated straight away.

Overall a disappointing visit. There a better places in the area.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. This will noe be my Go-To Local!!!! Exactly what I needed. Tasted like Farm-to-Table food as I've had in the States. Great customer service. Charming pub vibe, but how you'd like it: not grimey or old man pub. It had all the right elements a person needs!
