Went their for trivia night. Was sat in a corner where we couldn't see the screen so to play trivia we had to stand up. Foods not bad though and the general atmosphere was pretty good.
Visited during $5 steak and chips night and enjoyed it. Friendly, good for kids, reasonably priced meals that arrived timely despite how busy it was. Will come back.
Reserved table, two hour wait for food. 2/3 waitresses were abrupt, defensive and made snide remarks during this period when enquiries were made about delay. The kitchen staff handling final prep was not wearing gloves and did not wash his hands between meals , wiping his dirty apron or handling receipts. Receipts he then put ontop of the food for the wait staff to remove before serving. The food arrived with managment 5minutes after refunds had been requested. The only saving grace was the manager who was polite , understanding and organised the refunds in a timely manner .
Don t often go to pubs but went to look at a televised horse race and found a very pleasant dining room to do so.
went there on tuesday for $5 steak night. we booked for 7pm. when we got there, we couldn t find our name on the tables but we proceeded to order. we found our booking for Adam H on their list at the counter and saw that our table is 17. After we ordered, the table 17 was already occupied and with a different name on it. We didn t know where to sit and was worried that if we take a different table, the meal would go to someone else. We asked if we could change our table number instead so they won t get it mixed up and they said ok. We waited for an hour, it was already 8pm and we still didnt get our meal served. We told the staff and they just said oh sorry we ll bring it to you asap, no explanation why it took so long or if they even took note that we changed our table number because they got it mixed up in the first place. we saw lots of guests who arrived later than us but getting served first because they totally forgot about our order. dont think that we ll be coming back here.
the chicken schnitzels have changed back to handmade and crumbed on-site NOT the frozen processed ones, soooooo yummy back to rating this place as the Best Chicken schnitzel and Parmy in the whole of Darwin. Still seems to be the only venue that made real crumbed chicken breast! And also their 2 X chicken parmy and jug of beer for $30 Amazing job thank you Parap tavern, will be there every week l!
Parap Tavern has is probably one of the oldest Taverns in the Northern Territory Australia it's has had some changes but still keeps it's charm in one of the oldest and historical area of Darwin the Parap markets are held on the weekend and many different cultures meet and gives it a charm of its own.
Nice $10 Grazier rump & salad for lunch, cooked perfectly as ordered (medium rare). Thanks, chef!
So disappointed to see the best steak sandwhich in Darwin has changed. The steak has changed from beautiful thick scotch to terrible rump and the bread has changed from amazing ciabatta or similar to two thin slices of toasted bread. And the broccolini salad doesn't exist anymore (perhaps seasonal?), two very strange changes!! Other then that though the other meals look great, are big portions and the casual dining environment in this suburban pub is nice.
$5 steaks on Tuesdays, great food and great service
The renovations have made the dining area just a pub. Used to look better and feel better before. Food was good. Seniors meals a good idea. Smaller cheaper serves.
Being a parap local for over 40 years and loved the tavern back in its day, its so sad the running of the tavern by ALH group has destroyed all the personalty and atmosphere that was once a typical fun place to spend an evening - no more live music, place is dead by 9pm Will now enjoy going to silks with all my friends, Parap tavern is now dead, at least all interstate racing visitors will now be offered a modern, vibrant, hospitable venue in Silks So long Parap Tavern, another venue bites the dust
Week day meal specials always works a treat with my family. Good food and good play area for the kids.
My husband and I visited this pub while on a trip to Darwin. We had a great experience. We ordered the rump steak and the chicken schnitzel and both were tasty and well cooked. We accidentally found that the pub was having the Inxsive Tribute Band play on the night so that was a pleasant surprise. Good food, friendly staff and laid back atmosphere, will definitely visit again next time we're in Darwin.
Great pub with great pub meals and beer, plenty of tv for watching sports and a bottle shop, prices r good for both meals and beers, I would recommend this hotel
2x Parmy and jug beer on point as always. Clean and friendly staff make dining great every Thursday.

Decor: No issues with the furniture. Seats were comfortable. Atmosphere: Busy, but manageable for a feed or drink :) Bathrooms: Average, but nothing bad. Value for money: Excellent!!! Very surprised... Drinks: Good range of favourite Australian beers in fridge & also available on tap. Food: Superb portion size & excellent taste. Grilled Chicken Tenderloins - Superb taste with a VERY generous portion size!!! :) AAA+++ Bodybuilders heaven! Seasoned Potato Wedges - Were the BEST EVER wedges that we have EVER had!!! Whatever the seasoning is, it is a top secret!!! No oily run off at all & cooked to perfection for just $6! Synopsis: Best Pub Food experience that I have ever had!

Food is generally good, though wait times are sometimes excessive to meet your one hour lunch breaks. They don't have straws (even alternatives) anymore also which is sometimes a bit of a pain.
TAB, cold beer, good service, meat raffles, good pub.
Yummy Steak Lunch where. Grandbabies relaxed happy with food .. just lemonade. Must ran out syrup tasted more like soda water need check your dispenser

VERY DISAPPOINTED!! WE WONT BE BACK!!! --yesterday fathers day, took 8 people. Order lady was very slow!! Then got orders wrong!! ( No ice- cream !). Last weeks chef was heaps better:- Tenderer steaks cooked perfect last week. Prices higher to compensate half price fathers meal. ( Was told other prices.) Never asked for seniors card till yesterday as just said ' I'm 60 years old!! SFR-self funded retiree. No dessert in the deal! Coffee machine broken. Questions were answered with "DON'T KNOW" ... WE WON'T BE BACK!
Affordable meals, family restaurant, beer lines seem not clean. The chicken parma can be lacking in cheese and sauce at times. The steaks are delicious. On weekly special nights make a booking.

Beaut pub in a good spot. Tucker is nice and it has a great sports bar. Half price schooners on Saturday! Trivia $5 steak and chips on Tuesdays (book if there are more than 2 of you)
Food was amazing, the building was quite aged, location seemed a little scetchy at first but seemed okay after we spent a bit of time there.
Good feed, limited drink selection but most basics available. No ginger beer. Good kids area to keep the little ones entertained. A good place to bring family groups for dinner.
Good place for a catch up. Excellent steaks , yummy garlic bread and sweet desserts. Drinks service good too.
Came here few times and always happy with the food quality & great services. They not only serves nice meals, the presentation are also excellent, with reasonable price. The last time i visited this resto was on Easter Friday, i invited some friends too.. we ordered; 1 Seafood Linguine, 3 Pork Ribs, 1 Steak, 1 Crispy skin salmon, 2 kids menu & drinks. We truly enjoyed & satisfied with the foods, all meals were SUPERB. Definitely will coming back again! Thanks CHEF!! P.s: if you visit Darwin, and can t figure out what to eat just pop-in to this restaurant!! You won t regret it!
Great atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally friendly. Food was tasty and good size meals.. would make it my local if I lived in Darwin.
Went to the Parap Tavern for dinner and the trivia night. The food was great, especially the steaks! We had a great night out with our friends from overseas and they had a great Aussie pub night out.
Had a bit of a misunderstanding there... Communication is such a hard thing sometimes. But things went pretty well... I got upset but didn't want to leave with a bad experience. So went to talk to the manager and she's been listening (not just hearing me....) and she came out with much more than I could have expected. Thank you.
Bad clientele from what i observed. Witnessed an intoxicated customer get served more drinks even after everyone heard him abuse the poor bartender. Will never come here again. Been to a lot of bars, but this one doesn't seem to have any form of standard procedures

Atmosphere was great, there was a live band. Food is average, but the oysters were great. Highly recommend visiting
