The hidden gem of the Athens bar scene. They are strict on carding so no underagers can get in- which makes it all the better for the upperclassmen. They have the cheapest drinks and best pool tables in Athens- two of them. It has a very clean look and is fairly well lit. Take note- Stacy is the bomb at making bombs The best part however is people seem to forget about this bar so its never too crowded!

They now serve a very limited menu and then only some days, but the pulled pork nachos are very good. The owners are often there, friendly and helpful.
My friends and I were regulars at Overhang, the type of people to know all the bartenders and all the daily specials. Thought it would be a great place to celebrate a birthday for a friend. We thought wrong. We got there early so we could get a table. After about 20 minutes the owner moved my friend and I to the bar because We are losing money with open seats . My birthday boy and friends were literally at the bouncer. A free round on us was her response as we tried to tell her. Safe to say we took our free round (just me and my friend, as our friends had to leave because there was no room at the bar) and went to another bar. Won t be spending money there again.
Pulled pork nachos are very good. Quick service and not a bad price.
The pool table area is garish, but the bar is quite nicely done and very clean. Decent well drinks. (All of my Uptown bar ratings refer to when not jammed; subtract a few stars on weekends during school year)
Even though our group was older the college scene inside was great and fun atmosphere!

This is the bar my group always goes to when we want to get away from the crowds. The pool tables are amazing and you actually have room to play.
Nice sized bar with lots of seating area. Good drink prices and specials, it's a shame they didn't keep the kitchen open.

Place is very much a college bar. Was pretty empty but bartender was extremely friendly. Made up for the watered down drinks

Great bar, but last night Saturday the 3rd my girlfriend and I went and met up with our friends Rob, Jeff, and Trish and we was playing pool having a good time when a guy staff member came and told my girlfriend she had to leave because she gave the middle finger to her friends as a joke about the game and the staff member said she was giving him the middle finger. Anyone knows how to get ahold of the bar owners please let us know. We met him and he told us we were welcome anytime. Just sad young kids wanna treat older people with disrespect!!!
Not a bad bar for a college town. Can't really go wrong with well drinks never more expensive than $2, and often $1.50. The bar area is pretty nice atmosphere. Not too many TV screens either.
The staff are amazing, the drinks come quick. It's clean, the crowd is always good. Not to mention the best pool tables in town. Love this place.
Good service and good drinks. One of the cleanest bars in town and does not stink of stale beer, piss and vomit. One of the more reputable bars in town that doesn't cater to college students like the other bars. Fair prices and good drinks. Definitely a good happy hour bar for adults.
TheOver Hang gets really crowded, but it's a phenomenal place to dance and the drink specials are great.
Austin is the best bartender in the whole state. Hands down!
One of my favorite places to go during the day to play pool.
When I came back into town on a Wednesday night around 8, I was greeted by a bouncer wearing his mask improperly. As he was looking at my fiancee's ID he spilled his drink on the floor and on our shoes. I waited for 15 minutes at the bar trying to get service and the ONE bartender on staff refused to make eye contact with me despite serving two sorority girls that got there after me. After that, I just walked out. I used to love this bar in college and it's just gone downhill.
Terrible service, rude bouncers, uninspired decor, and my debit card was stolen while I was here. Avoid at all costs.
Most of the staff is great. Their GM is very short tempered and rude
Nice, not too crowded even on a Friday night. Plenty of room and music not so loud your ears feel like they might fall off. Bartenders were nice and quick as well. Reasonable prices.
When we were there it was pretty empty. Great place to play pool and hang out. Not a lot of places to sit if it was busy. Really spacious inside and I really enjoys being there.
Nice place to grab a beer on a Sunday walk. Nice owners and quiet early.
