I really had a good time here. Really fun. Lots of animals.
An enjoyable zoo. Nice layout. Good assortment pf animals
Major parts under construction, but still fully accessible. Good close encounters with many animals.
Great staff! They are very welcoming and willing to answer any questions. The upcoming expansions to update the zoo are exciting!
I loved it and the new way of doing things there is great! A clear path to follow was the way to go
The Oregon Zoo is the best I've been to. Sprawling over hundreds of Oregon's most lush acres, a lot of planning and money have been pumped into this little paradise perched in the hills above Portland. They have everything one could want in a zoo, local and exotic animals who have very large enclosured habitats to live in; though the animals never seem to be hidden, which I'm sure took a lot of careful consideration. It really is packed full of attractions, especially for the price. What could be better than drinking a local microbrew while looking at elephants?!
I like the zoo in all it was a great time visiting with my family but I just don t like seeing animals locked up it breaks my heart I think they should be free but the zoo is OK not the animals being locked up
I don't like zoos in general. I think animals have to live in environment where they belong.
Best zoo ever. The habits are viewable from many angles. We will go again and again. Lots of parking $6 for the day. You can bring food and beverage in too.
We took the grandkids and had a blast. Would recommend it for anyone.
The zoo is always great and my son enjoys it. However there are a lot of main attractions closed until 2020 I believe. Primates, Polar Bears and others.
This place is crowded with people. Everyone will just stop right in front of you whenever they want. The kids are out of control, tapping on the naked mole rats cage. Lots of screaming and yelling. And the price for the zoo is outrageous. The food is horrible and there is trash everywhere. I used to go here when I was a kid and now I will never be back.
Enjoyed it but every time we go they have a few exhibits closed or the animals are too far away/sleeping, So we don t really get to see all of them. Our kids really enjoy it though
Amazing visit. Fast and friendly service with food and everything we did. Would say thought food is overpriced.
The family always has a great time when we visit. Love this zoo.
My fiance and I took our four youngest children (4,3,3,1) to the zoo on a surprise adventure. We arrived just after 10am and stayed until 2pm. We rode the zoo train and all of us enjoyed the view on the new Elephant Enclosure. We were kinda bummed that a few of the exhibits are closed. Some of them our favorites. But are also happy to see that the animals are getting good care and new facilities. We decided to purchase a family membership because of how much fun the kids had. We are also planning another trip for our two older kids to see some of the feedings. I highly recommend making the trip to the Oregon Zoo!
Easily the best zoo I've been to in the Pacific Northwest. The website completely undersold it in my opinion. The elephant exhibit was over the top outstanding. For sure will be back in 2020 when the rest opens up. Every thing was just amazing here, thank you Portland.
Great exibits. Bumbed that some of them were closed but that's just the roll of the dice. Parking is the biggest pain. *Highly* suggest to use public transportation. No joke. Use it. Unless you are one for walking a good distance. Price is a bit much but not exuberant.
Family loves to go here. Busy on weekends. Try to go during the week if possible.
Great experience was expecting more lights but overall was fun for the kids traffic was horrible parking is always full bring your handwarmers and longjohns
Simply does not play a reasonable care taking role for its animals, including for its elephants. No visit is required, and none should be undertaken by people genuinely interested in positive animal experiences or animal welfare.
I get it's a zoo but the tickets were a little bit expensive
Fun place for families. Paths are wide, so good for strollers of you have small children.
This zoo does an amazing job of making you feel like you are in the animals habitat not the other way around. It is really big. Came all the way from Covington Washington 150 miles one way and it was well worth it. Building more amazing things as well!! Prices are not overly crazy for people have that have gone to a few zoos. 25 dollars for chicken strips pizza and a bacon cheese burger. They were really good
Loved this place. Only complaint is the margaritas are a scam. Lol. The only alcohol you get is around the rim of your cup. $9 for a rim Job margarita.. minute maid with salt and lime.
I wish i could give more stars but my family loves this zoo a lot i see every penny spent is going towards animal care and care to the staff who work here... They are heros they have helped find lost kids seperated from there parents i know cause it happend to me i can't thank the staff and people here enough on top of that heros to animals helping them every single day feeding them cleaning stalls and so much more Keep up the fantastic job everyone I love this zoo
This was one of the great places in Oregon. I think they are taking it in the wrong direction. Many of the animals they used to have are gone.
I believe they need new management, you're not getting much for the high cost of admission.
Most of the zoo was under construction. No zoo keepers anywhere educating the patrons.
Go in a rainy day because the animals are out and there's few people
My first impression was horrible. I look online, literally the night before, and the price was $9.95 a person. We get here and they charge us over $35 for two people. When I asked about the price they said the price just changed today and if I looked it up on Googe it was wrong. The lady I spoke with was not helpful and rude. And I haven't even gotten to the animals or food and I'm already pissed. Won't be coming back...
Such an awesome place! Been going here since the 90 s and will be taking my kids here!
Tons of parking in this zoo! Have to pay, but it was like $1.80 I think per hour? Not bad at all. I love this zoo. Best zoo I have been to so far. They have well laid out walkways and paths. They also have areas that spray mist water which helps cool you off during a hot day.
I've been coming here ever since I was little! I've always adored the zoo and all the little things they do. I could spend hours at the zoo and we used to gi there every year for my birthday. Now we go every once in awhile to see the animals again and to see what projects the zoos working on. They're constantly expanding on their habitats and they give pretty good information on the animals they care for. They offer great shows (such as the aviation bird show), pretty good food and a wide variety of selection at the gift shop. The have also jumped onto the re-using plastic/cutting down on plastic movement and are offering ways to improve our lives and the lives of animals through their gift shops. The staff there are always friendly and always busy (in a good way)! Adults and children of all different ages would love this place. I reccomend going there anytime! However, depending on the time of year, make sure to bundle up (for winter months) or to bring sunscreen (for summer months). You won't regret coming here. It's a blast! :D
The zoo has some nice enclosures. I'm not a fan of the farm animals. Seeing goats and chickens in a zoo is a lot like going to the zoo to see dogs and cats.
The biggest disappointment was the train. We paid $4 each to ride a train about 150 yards then turn around. What do you get to see from the train? Trees and people! The train doesn't go through any exhibits or last more than a couple of minutes. It only lasts a few minutes because of the extremely slow pace (about a walk). It was definitely a waste of time and money. Lesson learned.
I enjoy the zoo. Bring your own food and drink. Stuff in the park is expensive.
This place is a wonderful park. I've seen many Zoos and l am happy to have Oregon Zoo in my backyard. I get lost still sometimes and never see everything on one trip. The walk through the park is healthy and the sites and sounds and smells make me feel alive. The last time I tried the train and now have a favorite thing to do to pass time and flow through the park. Thanks Oregon for such a great Zoo!
Not bad! Most animal are far behind bars or glass... parking could be a challenge... they trend to be hiding from the sun when I visit... train ride is ok but sort of $$
Fantastic zoo, best I've seen really. They have great respect for the animals, it is clean and very large. The new elephant lands area is amazing! I go a few times a year with family and friends.
This zoo hosts a well curated meragine. There are plenty of indoor exhibits to enjoy on drizzley days. It took me about 2.5 hours to give all the animals a good look, but the visit could have easily been extended if I had caught more of the feeding demonstrations. The zoo has thoughtful and artistic architecture that enhances the ambience of the displays.
This time with lights is amazing maybe when finish the renovation will be great
Great p look ace to take the whole family. Beautiful exhibit if Pacific Northwest wildlife. A great exhibit regarding elephant rescue; lots of rescued animals. Lots of renovations going on to make it even better.
Lots of construction and updating but honestly it's going to be so great to see afterwards! All the animals seem very happy and taken well care of.
What can I say! It's a amazing Zoo! Animals enclosures are always clean and so green. The elephants enclosure was fantastic. The largest I've ever seen for a zoo. And I've been to plenty zoos. My only complaint is the food options are absolute slim pickings... the only few places open the lines were wrapped around the building and both cafes had large lines for a $10- 12.00 burger. I love the cinnamon elephant eats but sometimes a healthier option on a cart would be nice to have..
Most the animals were MIA, and yet, still full price. Funny how that works.
Fun zoo to visit with kids or just as an adult outing. Great walking loop. They are doing rennovations on many of the exhibits right now so not everything is open. Once these are complete all of the animals will return. There is still a good variety of animals out in the other exhibits. Sack lunches are great idea here. They allow you to bring them in with you and the zoo cafe food is overpriced.
Really impressed with the layout and facilities here. Lots of food and snack choices and the zoo is upgrading to become much more sustainable. Playgrounds, a mini train and more keep the kids entertained for hours and hours!
I sometimes struggle with the concept of zoos in general, but I love coming here, and I feel like the animals are well taken care for. It fills my heart with joy!
Simply beautiful you definitely have to come to know it and do not forget to eat a rich snow are delicious
Such a beautiful zoo! I normally have a membership because I love it so much. I normally will give us around 3 hours to get through the whole zoo. They often have some kind of construction going on but that's just because they're always working on making the exhibits larger for the animals. Definitely worth going at least once!
One of the most beautiful zoos I've ever been to!! The habitats are wonderful and as a bonus it's also an amazing concert venue!!!
Very well taken care of zoo. Great for Christmas time with all the beautiful light displays.
Beautiful zoo with huge old trees throughout. Best exhibit was north America
I loved the walking path at the zoo. You're immersed in nature and feel like the zoo is a part of the larger park rather than a freestanding structure
Lots of unruly children everywhere. The animals all look sad and sedated :(
Parking is a joke. Dangerous at best. Poor oedestrian walkway in the lot too few spaces, best to take a cab or a Lyft
We really in joyed it they should have strollers that you can rent that look like animals you see them at malls but I loved it thank you.
A must for any family. It is a great way to spend an afternoon and get a nice walk in. Pleanty of activities and learning opportunities. This place can get busy when it's nice out and parking can get crazy. Max is a great way to get here from Beaverton OR downtown.
I love our zoo but remember the animals are most active in the am
Fun to visit during Zoo Lights and special events. The Orangutans are the coolest!
Had an issue buying membership so they let us in for the day! Rain ponchos in the gift shop were a reasonable and smart purchase.
amazing! I love that they have rehabilitated animals! beautiful park! definitely coming back every time we come to Oregon!
I have worked at Washington park (where the zoo is located) for the past three years as a shuttle bus driver. This is decidedly a great place to visit. The care and commitment of the staff here is studied by zoo's and parks around the country.
They serve Margarita's and have beer on tap. Also doing tons of renovations that will only continue to add to the attraction!
Fun Zoo and amazing Staff!! They also have a different thing goong on there
I want to like going to the zoo, but for the past 20 years it seems like this place is always doing some sort of renovation and it's a confusing layout. Everytime I leave I am questioning if I saw everything or not. Because of always having some sort of construction going on, not all the animals are ever available.
have been there 4 times this mo with 19 people so definitely paid for my yearly menbership
Zoolights is amazing but give your self lots of time. The zoo light train is not worth the time and money but the little kids do really like it.
