Always great fun. We went to see the zoo lights. Such an amazing place to go for the holiday season. We love coming here any time of the year. All the animals and the staff are so caring and helpful and knowledgeable, you can tell they truly care about all of the animals. This is a great place to go with the family or even just to stroll around by yourself.

The zoo is nice lots of work going on, we took the train and was very disappointed due to the fact that you travel only 2-3 minutes from the station then the train turns around and heads back to the station. They should give the ride out for free and not charge 4.00 per person. Half of the staff was friendly other half needed a pep talk or customer service skill training. Over all the kids had a great time

So much fun on my sons 4th birthday. Beautifully landscaped as well, when we came here it was about 90 something degrees out, but most parts of the grounds stayed nice and cool. Also, thanks for letting us bring a lunch in. If you dont know, you can save lots if you have WIC or ebt.

When it's not slammed, the zoo is worth your hard earned money, and they will take it.
Plan your trip on off times if you dont want to circle the parking lot like a vulture.
Also, check out a map online and really plan your visit; otherwise you will walk a REALLY long way to leave, usually with a cranky tired 2 foot terrorist on your back or shoulders.
The train ride is cheap for a reason, it no longer goes to washington park so....keep that in mind. The gift shop like any will require a 2nd mortgage for what your little terrorist wants, but hey, they are only young once right?

The Oregon Zoo is doing a wonderful job keeping everyone safe during the pandemic. With limited entry, there were no crowds and it was easy to socially distance at even the most popular exhibits. Traffic is directed in a one way flow and most animals are accessible for viewing (no penguins, no bats ). We had a wonderful afternoon at the zoo today. I'm so glad it's open again!

Best burgers in the area at the cascade grill. I shouldn't base my review on that but they're great. In all seriousness this zoo is awesome. Always clean. Helpful staff. The animals look as happy as can be expected. Lots of exhibits. My favorite are probably the large reptiles. Can't wait to go again.

The amount of animals at the zoo is amazing. Everyone should visit at least once. They are constantly up keeping the zoo and all the animals are lively and happy. We just went for their annual zoolights, absolutely gorgeous. Not as many animals during this event but the lights are beautiful and the train ride was fun. Absolutely wonderful place to go with the kiddos!

It started with a bit of rain but it warmed up quickly. There are a number of exhibits under renovation so that was kind of a bummer. We did get to see the male elephants get introduced to each other and spar a bit in the water.

Was fun for a one and done but glad two of my 3 tickets were comped. Super crowded, walking in a herd for parts of it. I can drive around neighborhoods and have a better viewing. The lights were pretty, definitely a good job there.

This is an incredibly expensive zoo that is mostly under construction. The food is way over priced, and so is admission.

We've been here for two hours and seen some otters and some fish. We're now desperately trying to figure out where the elephant talk is, and no one knows. We've checked listings and maps. Apparently, it's somewhere in the elephant area... Which is something like a half mile big.

The annual pass is the best way to enjoy this is zoo with your family. With little children it's nice to be able to just go for a couple hours and see a few specific animals and enjoy the day with little ones before they get too tired

Spent the day at the Oregon Zoo during the short respite from the hot weather. It seemed like all of the animals were active and were enjoying the cooler weather, too. The zoo has gone through a lot of refurbishments and is still in the process of updating. The zoo is a great place to get away from city life and enjoy some of nature's animals.

I can t give 5 stars due to how crowded and how poor of crowd control and direction they have. Also a ding comes from so many animals just not there due to construction etc. but when we took our daughters they absolutely loved it there! The zoo keys were cool although my kids weren t as interested in what the boxes said as I was. Lots of fun, great food in the restaurant at the park gate. Most everything is way overpriced, but that s expected.

Love this zoo!!! Got 5 ppl total in for $5 a piece total o f $25 cus i showed my dshs card for a discounted price. Love how many animals they have!! Paid $4 a piece to ride the 6 min. Train in the park. They had Lego's at the zoo the day we went. Lots of cool lego diplays. The only thing i recommend eating before entering the zoo, because the food is kinda expensive. It cost us $50 to feed my family lunch inside the zoo.

It was a great day. Very difficult if you have any walking problems. The animals seemed well cared for, but it is still somewhat sad to see them confined. The flower planting and forest cover were amazing. The kids 7 and 9 loved it and were exhausted.
