Wonderful zoo, beautiful landscape and fun animals! Can get crowded at some parts but has a great open lawn, some tables and fun food carts offering a variety of great food and drinks for all ages.
The elephants were playing in the water and Nora was playing
It is a zoo.
Too many concession stands, not enough .... . THEY PUT ANIMALS IN CAGES HERE?!
It is a zoo. They treat the animals well, they are looking to make a buck, someone needs to get paid... But it could use a +something.
If you look away from the animals for a split second, you can find lot of 4 leaf clovers in the grassy areas.
Oregon Zoo has wonderful exhibits in natural a natural Oregon setting.
We always have a great time at the zoo...especially zoo lights. We are not a huge fan of how the new train is set up though. But the rest in fantastic!
We visited the Oregon Zoo yesterday, which is a part of Wadhington Park. The prices weren't too expensive for entrance and they also offered discounts for Military and Seniors over 65 years old. We walked around for several hours and saw many different animals on exhibit. They had several live shows throughout the day that would be interesting for children, as well as adults. Of course they offered food and snacks at various locations, and benches every so often to rest on. The restrooms were clean and the staff I interacted with were all very nice and very knowledgeable. They were very crowded when we were there on the weekend, but everyone was good about it and interacted well with each other, and we didn't find anyone who was rude or unreasonable at all. There was plenty of space for everyone to get around and see all the animals. They also had a very nice petting zoo for the little kids too. We really enjoyed our visit here and would definitely recommend it to anyone!
This place is GREAT! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because there is soooo much construction going on. Place will be completely amazing once it's all done tho. Fav was the Giant Tortoises!
It was under construction but still some great exhibits
The Zoo is doing a great job of operating with COVID restrictions. I hate to say this, but this was my most enjoyable visit yet!
Saw Billy Idol here at the Zoo Concert Series. Great fun, great venue plus you get to see the animals. Was a brilliant night with BFI
Wasn't what I was expecting. Metro zoo Miami is nicer.
I can't rave about this place enough. They take such care in making sure they do not disturb the surrounding landscape all while making each animals habitat feel like their real world areas. So many types of animals, a great atmosphere and wonderful shade from the summer heat makes this an amazing zoo to visit year after year
Absolutely love the zoo!! Its my daughter's favorite place. Pretty pricey but it's a clean and fun place for a day of adventure. Also a great place to learn about many different animals
I came here for zoo lights and had an absolute blast! I ve always loved the zoo and being able to see it lit up with such beautiful lights was magical. I can t wait to come for years int he future! I can tell how much work is put into the production of zoo lights and I can t appreciate it enough. This was my first year going but it definitely won t be the last!
Outstanding location for a show
Not only is the venue great - walking to it past the animals makes it desirable to arrive early.
The Zoo benefits from the promotion and donations from concert goers
The zoo is currently still under construction as they make improvements to help enrich the animals' lives. They've brought in a lot of food cart to give people more options for food and drinks. The new Elephant Lands is amazing. It allows you to get much better views of them. They've added a lot of light to the Zoo Lights for the holidays. They've been working on refurbishing the train tracks. They've got a whole new area for bugs and learning about backyard animals. These updates have been needed for a long time and they aren't disappointing.
Great place for family fun. A lot of exhibits are currently under construction but there's still plenty to do, see, and enjoy.
Has potential. Lots of construction and temporarily offline exhibits. Will have to try again next year. They should reduce the cost when a large portion of the zoo is unavailable. Also, many of the exhibits could provide better viewing opportunities especially when it is crowded. I have to say the parking is terrible, the spaces are way to narrow even for small cars.
Great zoo! Been to several around the country and would rank Omaha #1 and San Diego #2, but found the Oregon Zoo to be quite enjoyable and was pleasantly surprised.
The price has gone up so much for family passes but I do love this zoo.
Great experience. Lots of construction going on right now. But still a very pleasant visit with plenty to see
Great things are coming to the zoo 2020 coming here since I was a kid. You can tell that they really take the comfort of their animals seriously. Kinda pricey but look out for specials.
A stunning location to take in a concert under the stars.
Always a good place ro visit... ....just needed more time....lots to see and do....come early so y'all don't miss out on anything!
Become a member, it's a tax write off for a good cause. Also, it's awesome!
I have a membership so spend time there a lot with my family, every time we have a great time. Recommend to visit!
Small enclosures I'm from Texas when i saw the size of the habitats for the animals compared to the Dallas zoo it made me sad
This is a review for Brew Lights.
This was so much fun and we even saw some animals out. It was busy, but not so much that it hindered our enjoyment. The lights were awesome!
We spent 58 bucks on tickets and hardly saw any animals because of renovations, we should of been told a head of time that most of the exhibits were closed because of that or gotten discounted tickets. The kids were very disappointed. It feels like we were ripped off to pay for the renovation and that really is a wrong way to conduct business.
I was very disappointed in my recent visit. I had not been for several years, took my grandkids and could not believe it was half the zoo it was and cost twice the amount. I was ashamed to call this the Oregon zoo.
It has the best sights there, especially the penguins.
Only zoo we have, seemed great for a while but has been doing too much construction for the past several years. Even took away many animals to do more construction.
Too many animal enclosures under construction otherwise it was very nice
may 2018 lots of closed exhibits. Great Zoo but wish they save the construction for winter
I would have given 4 but I myself didnt research times for attractions or how late food spots were open. That aside I had a great time.
Nice concert venue! Food was way overpriced though.
Great place to take kids for a day of enjoyment during the spring or early summer. Parking can be in high demand at times
Love it, just super noisy because it is a kid free for all.
Where are all the animals...... I saw more "this exhibit under construction" signs than animals. I understand that things need renovated, but everytime they do, there are less and less animals.
The exhibit for the elephant herd is awesome, but the downside is the variety of animals is decreasing.
Really nice zoo! Lots to see. Too crowded most times though. I know it's not the fault of the zoo that they get lots of visitors. It really effects the experience when you're crowded on the pathways and constantly being bumped and cut in front of. I strongly suggest going anyways. Just be prepared for lots of people. The elephant and hippos are my favorite!
Ive been going here as long as I can remember. Always amazing memories. Never a bad experience
I liked it because there's nowhere else you can go to see some of these animals
I purchased a family membership as a gift. They have loved the lights this Christmas already. The reciprocity with other attractions is a fantastic bonus.
Love the zoo. Best value is to get a zoo pass. It pays for itself fast.
I highly recommend watching the elephant show and feeding the giraffes. We had such a great day! There is a 2 mile course if you walk around the entire zoo. Download the Runtastic app And track your miles so you can donate to your favorite charity while you visit your favorite wildlife
Hands down, one of the greatest zoos I have ever visited.
Zoo lights has become a tradition. A great display. Bundle up, bring your own cocoa to avoid long lines at consetions
my family loved it here! will be back. tigers were awesome
This is a very nice zoo, but it is often under construction for years at a time . When they are upgrading an exhibit the animals housed there are not available for viewing. Really disappointing when the highlight of your trip was going to be the animals they've secluded, such as polar bears.
It helps to know that the animals will eventually be better off, but still a bummer. There are still enclosures needing upgrade, so probably gonna keep occurring for several more years.
Also, if you go anytime other than peak Summer season, many of the vendors aren't open. You have to walk all over searching for the one vendor with a particular snack available.
On the up side, the grounds are well kept, clean and very pretty. Lots of flowers, trees, ferns, landscaping, etc. It provides a nice walk in beautiful surroundings.
Also a plus, there are plenty of available restrooms. They're conveniently placed, so you never have to wait long when you or your kids are in need.
This Portland location has gotten pretty expensive, especially if you're taking the whole family.
One of the best things they're doing is the regular posting online of their animals and young. So enjoyable, makes you want to go back.
Amazing as always cant wait until the new exhibits open in 2020!
Love this place! One can spent a whole day here and still not see everything.
We went on the 4 dollar tuesday admission day. Big mistake. Way too many strollers, could barely navigate around them. Adults crowd whatever animals you can find ( most were hiding or asleep) and kids really had a hard time getting close. Would like to recommend that the zoo prohibit private strollers and provide strollers for the public, convenient and sensible. Oh and four year olds should walk people, mine did.
Adorable little zoo
As an animal enthusiast I have been to zoos in almost every state I have been in. I loved the setting of the Oregon zoo. Nice shade trees great enclosures. Doesn't take too much time to get around
A wonderful zoo with great exhibits that truly make the animals feel at home.
Such a great place to be with family. It is clean and fun to see animals we hear about in books up close
Its a great zoo, very entertaining for the children. Get there earlier in the day to have time to see all the animals.
Love this zoo! Easy to navigate, friendly staff and beautiful animals.
Great zoo. I can't wait until the expansion finishes in 2020.
Wow, great variety of animals, easy to get through, make sure you give yourself 3 hrs.
A work in progress - wear your walking shoes, lots of up and down hills. Some rare animals and good efforts to create proper habitats.
Too many animals had been moved for remodeling and no notification or reduction in price very disappointed it was clean and the people were friendly
Wow what a great Mother's Day. the Portland Zoo has improved with new exibits and upgraded the environments for the animals to be more like their homes. This is not only an excellent veiwing zoo but also a repository for genetically threatened speices as well.
