You MUST GO SEE A PLAY at The Old Globe Theater! So much CLASS AND CHARM!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic establishment. I ve absolutely loved every visit and performance here.
Always a great place to enjoy a good play with nice company
Top rated stage performances....some have gone on to Broadway. Everything from plays and musicals to Shakespeare.
Wonderful theater, great performances, spectacular love being season ticket holders!
There is not a bad seat in the house. Good sound and lighting. Little bit of a trek from the parking lot.
What a charming picturesque place. Smallish well laid out theater with excellent acoustics. Staffed by mostly older folks, some of which seemed like they would make good characters from a play themselves.
Love going to all three of the live theater complexes. Each one unique. Outdoor Amphitheater, Theatre in the round and beautiful large stage.
Our cousin was in the production of "Almost Famous"... The show was Fantastic
This is a beautiful little theater, intimate, where every seat is a good one.
The Old Globe is one of the best resons to live in San Diego. Last night we saw The Tempest on the Festival Stage. The drinks are reasonably priced and the snack selection is perfect. The production transported us to a different time and place. It was an unforgettable evening.
Why have I waited 16 years to see "How the Grinch stole Christmas"? The show was better than expectations! This may be a new annual tradition. The staff was very friendly from the concessions, gift shop, and the ushers! A great venue for all ages!
I have shared season tickets with my dear friend Bonnie Lorden who grew up in Manhattan with fine theater! We are writing this together. The Old Globe offers a stream of the finest theatre this side of Broadway. They have four out of five hits in every single season. The artistic director is straight from Broadway and we truly feel he is a theatrical genius.
Upscale theater - not cheap - but quality productions.
Great venue to see a show. Not a bad seat in the house.
I have never had a bad experience here, and I have been attending plays there for over 6 years! Great performances! Of course, they are more expensive than other theaters in the area, but you are paying for the quality performances. The staff are helpful and friendly (especially the volunteers). Plus, they have a fantastic location in the heart of Balboa Park. Love it!
I love the Old Globe! They bring interesting productions to San Diego in a sophisticated, but intimate environment. I used to be a subscriber, but even now, I see at least two shows there each season. Casting and directing choices are usually refreshing, so even if you've seen a show at another theater, you should see it again at the Old Globe. Parking can be challenging and the food could be better, otherwise, you're in for a treat at the Old Globe.
Beautiful venue in the outdoor theatre. I saw Romeo and Juliet and the modern production was excellent. The costumes, acting, music (especially the pianist) were so good. It is a top notch theatre company.
Saw the musical 'Heart of Rock and Roll'. If you like the music of Huey Lewis, then see this play at the Old Globe now.
Always a great time. From the green room to the award-winning productions.
Saw the history of rock and roll. Was a great play...however, parking is awful and not ADA friendly at all. My mom had a horrible time with ADA access
Seen the Grinch and Picasso at the Lapin here... I don't think there is a bad seat in the theater (so don't feel bad if back row is only option... Saw grinch back there and could still see everything without any issue). Great productions and friendly staff.
Best theater experience in San Diego, very intimate.
Fabulous performances, iconic and historical buildings surround a remodeled area and best to park elsewhere and walk in, or Uber in. One of the best performing arts venues, not the biggest, but the best in the downtown area in terms of the caliber of performers and variety of shows. Busy place in the Summer and around the holidays, meaning Uber in at those times of year from nearby as it's a long walk in and out.
I have seen theatre throughout the world and The Old Globe outshines them all. It is truly an indescribable experience.
Amazing place to work it is so peaceful! Best job I've ever had
We saw the Gods of Comedy, it was very well put together , the actors were very talented and the set design was very well put together.it seemed a little less stuffy than the previous years I've attended plays there
How the Grinch and The Pub and the whoville tree. Perfect!!
A wonderful place to see all the things you love to come out and enjoy!
Good performance. Personnel helpful. Good railings on stairs.
Great play. Easy access. Excellent variety of shows.
Great theatre venue. It's fairly small inside, so there are few if any bad seats. Production quality was amazing - great sets and great cast. I'll definitely be back.
Beautiful small theater where you can really be absorbed into the play that you are seeing
Amazing place, I enjoy going to see plays here. Prices are great, they offer military, student, and under 30 discounts. If you are looking for something to do with friends or date night consider a play, well worth the money.
Nothing like Old Globe outdoor theatre for a truest unique experience. Every seat provides you with a great view. Make a night of it, walking around Balboa Park, enjoying the summer street entertainment and grab some grub from one of the many food trucks.
Love this place! 3 theaters, each distinct in size, vibe, and performance style. I've been in each and they all have great attributes.
Great place to visit when your a local or a tourist. 3 stages, all great places to see a performance
