Good beer and great food. Had lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the lively atmosphere
We had a meal at the Old Custom House on the evening of 5th April 2013, A nice looking building, badly let down by poor quality food badly served.....beware the chips....disgusting,
Great location for a quick drink. Lots of tables despite being quite popular and busy. Good selection of beers on tap and good hot drinks too. Dog friendly also a plus.
Only used the pub for a drink, so can't comment on food or rooms. Staff were exemplary, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Free WiFi.
I'm a disabled pensioner and was VERY disappointed by the ignorance of the local taxi company, who told me to WALK to the bus stop...despite my telling them that the '2 minute walk', would in fact, take me 45-50 minutes!!!
Lovely pub, great location, superb views. Highly recommended. Just avoid the taxis!!!
Great location and I always visit when back in Portsmouth
We stayed in Padstow last year and this establishment became our local we were made welcome. It had good food and beer also the dog loved it too
Love this place. Great food and drinks and also delicious cream teas. Perfect for sitting and watching the boats sailing in and out of Padstow Harbour.
We had some great afternoons in the custom house
Friendly staff and great beer, next trip I m staying here
Pretty average to be honest. Bar maid not the most helpful... Buying meals for a for a family of 5, apparently pizza is only an option to take away... Daughter had to settle for a slice as part of a (pretty small) kids meal ? Then 4 meals turn up, had to chase for the 5.. Overall not the greatest dining experience!
Great room and excellent location. Highly recommended.
Very nice pub with a good selection of drinks. The food is very over priced.
Always busy but worth a short wait for a table (self seating) Thai style sea bass special was amazing and dogs welcome too.
Great place with nice staff, always a pleasure to go there.
Friendly service and locals will be coming back here.
Pleasantly surprised by the room. Lovely decor in the room (although the rest of the hallways feel a bit dated). Shower room was well presented with a double shower and toiletries provided. We overlooked the harbour and it was nice to hear the boats chugging out in the morning. The food in the bar was tasty and well priced and the breakfast the following morning was brilliant. Lots of options - we had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs - enough to set us up for the day. There's not a great deal of things to do in Padstow (unless you like crabbing in the harbour, or want to cycle along the camel trail) but for us that was perfect. We just wanted a sleepy harbour village to relax in after a very busy few days and it was just that.
Only stopped in for coffee and hot chocolate with the kids but we were made to feel welcome and would go again and stay for lunch.
Lovely meal had to book on line, as only 3 of us kept saying full, so I booked for ,4 and said one wasn't well loads of time slots
Warm pub, open fires ,dog friendly with a good atmosphere
Largecpub with large menu on harbour side of Padstow. Lovely food
Great spot by the harbour for a beer or a hot chocolate!
Helpful friendly staff. Great food great Cider etc. Dog friendly.
Nice hotel with friendly staff and a good breakfast
Great food and service, I highly recommend The Old Custom House
It's Sunday so as tourists we're were looking for a half decent pub Sunday lunch in walking distance of st Petroc church in padstow, even though the harbour was crowded with other sightseers,we managed to get a table at the old custom house,& ordered 2 roast beef lunches,& they were tasty & filling,& the beef was perfectly cooked& they were served to us quite quickly, the staff were all polite & friendly, overall a top lunch,
My favorite pub in Padstow. Beer always good. Staff friendly and the service and food are good
Went in for a drink ended up having a meal thought it was very good abd reasonable cost
Nice atmosphere, attractive old building. Good views of the harbour/estuary.
We had lunch in the bar on 15th October. Extremely pleasant greeting and willing efficient service, complying with present Covid requirements. Delicious crab sandwiches, lovely fresh bread
Good for late food, would recommend the shipwright across the harbour for chatting and meeting people
Quick drink here on our way into town one evening last week. Staff were really friendly, lots of seating and dog friendly which was great.
Not much choice on the menu which made us move on to another pub
Very dated. Incredibly rude staff and no free parking. Better off camping. Will not be staying again.
Being a big pub, and located at the edge of town and the harbour side , it was not as jammed pack as the more centrally town pubs. It does take a bit of time before u get your orders and drink due to the volume of visitors on a rainy day @ peak season time.Otherwise customer service satisfactory.
Lovely big open space and lovely food, and they allow dogs in as well.
Meal was lovely, staff not a friendly as last year but the service was still good. My dog was made very welcome.
Friendly staff, dog friendly, did not eat but food looked lovely but bit expensive
Nice spacious pub, good beer, great views over the harbour.
Warm friendly bar, lovely drinks and a nice cheese board! Very dog friendly.
Food was amazing, service was great. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Beautiful place very welcoming & the food beautiful
Lovely pub for a drink and food too. Friendly staff
Lovely overnight stay in clean & comfortable accommodation overlooking the harbour. Food very nice too. Would happily stay again.
Perfect central location and excellent breakfast, we had a standard room which was clean and comfortable but nothing special.
I loved the atmosphere of this place good prices and friendly service
Popular pub located close to the quay side.Plenty of choice for beers, ciders and Gin etc.Good food served here with great service too.
Don`t pass by without dropping in for a drink and maybe a meal too!
Best fish n chips
Loads better then you know who
Lots of great beers on tap, good value food. Just a minor grumble, when we ordered and paid for something for dinner and it took ten minutes to be told that they actually didn't have any of what we ordered. A refund was processed immediately however, so it wasn't a big problem just a bit disappointing the message took so long to get through to front of house. Otherwise, a nice dinner at a very pleasant pub.
Good food, friendly staff, great atmosphere. This large corner pub in the heart of Padstow is always high on the list of places to visit every time we're in the area. The food is well cooked, tasty and comes in very generous portions! Probably the best chips I've ever come across as well - so crispy on the outside, fluffy and tasty on the inside. Definitely don't miss it for dependable, great pub grub.
A nice place to stay but it seems not to be as good as it use to be.
Rooms are nice and comfy, breakfast is ok but lacks alternatives.
Staff seem friendly but not very engaging, I felt like I was causing a problem when making requests.
My meal .... Steak and Ale pie was very good .... part of a group of 9.... all comments very good.... it was very busy ....
Lovely location, lots of steps to rooms, however was clean and tidy
Lovely atmosphere, right on the water side
But never serve these to anyone again, not acceptable food
Very good service! Rooms clean. Breakfast very good
Not bad special run out very quickly we eat elsewhere
