Great location with a nice view and friendly staff.
My wife and I stayed here while touring with our Antique Car Club in Maine. The hotel, both of the buildings were beautiful...one more than the other. Extremely elegant banquet rooms which seem to be the reason they are the wedding hub in the area for the month of June. However, we feel that they need to make a choice, either accommodate wedding parties and their guests or all the other paying guests because they can not do both. We rented our room and was promised parking would be included but due to the many wedding parties going on there was not nearly enough parking for the hotel guests. They had so many cars filling the hotel parking lot that were there for the weddings. They should have provided valet service for the wedding guests to an offsite lot. This was unacceptable since we had cars that were over 100 years old driven by senior citizens and we were the paying guests. In addition, some guest that were part of the wedding parties were making a ruckus up and down the hallways at all hours of the night keeping several people in our car club awake all night. I imagine many of the hotel guests were affected by this. In good faith, I can not recommend this hotel unless these issues are addressed and avoided in the future. It may not seem like much until you are there and have no one to help rectify your problem, they just smile, apologize and get your signature on the credit card slip.
Good food and drink with a staff that doesn't quit till you have all your needs met.
Typical New England charm. Rooms a bit small, water pressure in showers a bit low. However, staff is great, plenty of activities for kids, really nice included breakfast buffet, and close to restaurants and shops.
My partner and I just spent 2 nights here. The property is very clean and well maintained. Very comfortable bed and room overlooking the water. The staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. Convenient hotel owned shuttle service to downtown shopping and restaurants. The breakfast buffet which is included in your stay is fabulous. Dawn the breakfast dining room manager gets the trophy for going out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. I have a hard time with noise or being around a busy group of people. She was so nice and understanding and moved us to a quiet corner each morning. Thanks again Dawn for your above and beyond helpfulness. We will be back.
Bobby and Kent
comfortable, friendly, kid friendly, customer service is excellent, food is excellent. Lots yo do at the resort without having to leave.
Bathroom too small, room very dark, in room coffee maker did not work. But place was beautiful, dinner good, grounds lovely, breakfast great
Beautiful view! Accommodations were stellar even despite Covid. Staff was terrific!!!
We booked a room for 4 nights after being told from another booking that they would not be opening for the season. Upon arrival at our room we realized that the room floors had not been swept or mopped, sandy and dirty. I called for the use of a broom and we cleaned and mopped the floors.
I later told someone at the check in the condition of the room when we arrived so they could address their help.
I was extremely surprised when checking out that they charged me for only 3 nights, so great.
The Nonantum is a great place to stay in Kennebunkport, their breakfasts are great and they offer so much more than a room.
We will stay there next year.
That hotel is beautiful! In a nice location. Would love to come back and stay! The ambiance was inviting.
Beautiful facility and setting. Friendly employees. Just gorgeous!
This resort in Kennebunkport, Maine was the site of a wedding we attended in June. Weather was perfect and outdoor ceremony very picturesque. The lush green lawn and boats in background created a beautiful atmosphere. The groom and groomsmen came in by sailboat, which was pretty cool. After the ceremony, photos, and cocktail hour outdoors, we filed into the beautiful dining room for dinner and dancing. Very nice.
This was a great long weekend getaway and our first time. Absolutely wonderful. Super friendly staff, super clean rooms and we were lucky and had a room with a view of the water. We can't wait to go back!
Paper thin walls, small rooms...some water damage as well.
Parking was an issue as well.
Breakfast was good, cannot complain...nice people.
"A brand for a company is like a reputation for a person. You earn reputation by trying to do hard things," well GM Tina Hewett-Gordon made it look easy when I needed a breakfast and lunch caterer and a parking lot for my crew of 30 on Monday and I called her the Saturday before. Right off the bat, Tina was transparent, polite and seemed genuinely eager to help. My crew was in awe of the breakfast hot buffet then in disbelief of the hot lunch buffet. Mushroom soup so good. If you are looking for a trustworthy, kind and all around phenomenal person, you are in great hands with Tina. Kennebunkport seems to be a community of high standards and interacting with Tina does not fall short but only exceeds the town's reputation of being exceptional. Long story, short if you're looking to do business with The Nonantum Resort especially GM Tina Hewett-Gordon, trust in Tina.
Beautiful location. I attended my high school prom here and loved it.
Niece had her reception here. Great venue, food and service
Room extremely small, lack of water pressure front desk people were rude charge 350 a night said the breakfast was not free cause we book third party! Would never go therr agian!
Basic, clean rooms. Nice view of water from corner room. Room was cold, 60, when we arrived 8pm. They should have warmed it up since we called 2 hrs before to tell them our arrival time. Welcome plate of delicious gourmet cookies in room was a very nice touch. We were there on a weekend. Be aware they hold functions there frequently.
Was there last week, INCREDIBLE! Jean, Tina, Tim & Staff treated us as royalty. Dinner in the Cabana was so very special. Jesse our waiter was very attentive, helpful with choices, he certainly went the extra mile. Lobster rice and clam chowder so yummy! We did an overnight stay in a water view room that was very clean & comfortable. Breakfast choices are outstanding- delivered to the room due to COVID restrictions and every bit delicious! A must try- Nonantum Resort made "donuts"- they are to die for! All in all, an IMPECCABLE 5 STAR experience! Thank YOU Nonantum Resort for being such a Blessing to Me & my Mom!
Great place to stay, within walking distance of mid Town.
Relaxing, family and couple friendly, great restaurant and bar.
Really nice, peaceful place. Restful. Great place to relax and enjoy some down time
Went for workshop..room had too many columns ..seats placed so could not see speaker n speaker could not see participants..technical issues throughout..another group in next room..only divider...loud..hard to focus on speaker
Fine hotel in picturesque Kennebunkport. The rooms are - contrary to the actual expectations - modern and very clean. You can even enjoy a "night service" here! Only about 15 minutes walk from the center.
Wonderful view. Great food. Social distancing as expected.
The hospitality i received from every one of the staff members eapecially the manager was incredible and i wasnt even a guest. I'm sure they treat their guests even better
Went for fire and ice last Christmas. Left after I ordered a $9 coffee drink and was given a shot of booze and told to mix it with the fill you own coffee in the other end of the building
A venerable property updated throughout but still exhibiting the old New England charm. Great location on the Kennebec River, an easy walk into town. Don't forget to stop bye and say "howdy" to the Bushes!
From the moment we checked in the staff was attentive and friendly. Located on the Kennebunkport River, the resort offers beautiful water views. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, the breakfast buffet is amazing, and the complimentary shuttle is ready to take within 5 miles of the resort! It offers a pub, restuarant, gift shop, heated pool, and boat tours on site. All of the staff are ready to provide you with a list of must see places and restaurants with amazing food. We can't wait to come back!
Flawlessly maintained historic building with all the charm of yesterday's life style. Banquet was a 5 star event.
Beautiful location, walk to town or colony Beach with the family. Staff is friendly & helpful. Outdoor dining in the cabanas on the water was a great bonus in the current situation, get the smores bucket for the kids!
Very beautiful resort but the breakfast buffet was mediocre at best. Pretty little "fairy" garden to view from the veranda.
Beautiful location. Quintessential Maine resort. Very family friendly.
Stopped for lobster lunch with large tour group. Outrageously delicious!
Located in a classic New England town. Excellent accomodations with a great staff.
A world class venue. The rooms have incredible views. The bar is exceptional. The restaurant has great food. They even have a piano player at night. What a great two days!!!
I went on the sailboat Pineapple Ketch, out of the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, ME, to spread my aunts ashes in the ocean. My family & I had a wonderful time, & I highly recommend anyone to sail with the Pineapple Ketch. Christo, & Misty were very friendly & welcoming, & very knowledgeable. Even though this was my first time on a sailboat, I felt very comfortable. It was a perfect sail on a perfect day!
I was there for the ice bar event and it was awesome!
My experience was second to none. Stayed in the carriage house for several nights. The Hotel had character! That is it was haunted. Was not afraid but my bathroom door open in the middle of the night and foot steps was heard Walking on my hardwood floors. Simple Physics dictates a force opened the bathroom door and a force was pressing down on the Hardwood floors to make the sound. The foot steps stopped at the foot of my bed. The kicker was that it happened again (the same way) the very next night at about the same time. It was AWESOME!!!!!!! I will be back. Hopefully I will be able to see more!!!!
This place was an incredible late season find for a night's stay. We were exceptionally happy with our included breakfast and the grounds are amazing and well decorated/kept. The building is old and had tons of character; slightly sloping and creaky floors, modern bathrooms, and a feel of staying with friends/family. Ocean avenue is a great AM walk for sunrise and some incredible coastal sights and homes. Such a great first trip to the area and will definitely be back.
They are maintaining good covid 19 measures. Cleanliness is good. They are offering a good breakfast, all with social distancing.
End of season quiet. Nice rooms, good breakfast for the light crowd. Great location and choice of views.
If you are looking for the ambience of a great New England hotel, Nonantum should be your destination. Our family has enjoyed many stays here, including wonderful meals and great entertainment. We look forward to enjoying more in the years ahead.
A friend and I stayed this week and loved our visit. Incredible staff, great room and delicious meals. We want to return for Christmas time!
Friendly staff, delicious food, including a hard cider that was suggested to me and I loved it; thank you for everything.
Room was pretty. Parking was easy. Views were beautiful. We ate at the bar and the food and service was excellent. Bar by the pool is awesome. Super close to the town. Someone else's drinks ended up on our room charges, but the front desk took care of it with no trouble. Only downside is that the main buildings walls were pretty thin, and the bed was super squeaky which put a small damper on our romantic weekend- not to overshare but it definitely had an effect on our trip.
I had a wonderful stay there. The rooms are beautiful. If you're staying on the south side of the main building though, most of the kitchen deliveries and garbage gets picked up there but if you're up before 7:30 it doesn't make a difference. The breakfast is definitely worth it as well. Absolutely delicious and they make their pastries in house. I highly recommend staying here and I would definitely go back.
Very clean and comfortable, family friendly, delicious food, staff extremely nice and friendly. Chef Craig met us briefly and took the time to greet us at breakfast. Could not be more pleased.
Went to a wedding at The Nonantum. Great venue and friendly staff.
We attended for a wedding. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate the party during off hours (opening the bar early for us,etc) and were very friendly and helpful.
Tough to beat private cabanas at sunset on the river. The seafood was so fresh and delicious. A must try
We booked a 4 hr fishing trip on the Liberti Rose out of Nonantum with Captain Bruce. Had a great time, caught a few stripers but no keepers.
Well run, environmentally friendly hotel in a beautiful location. Well-stocked breakfast buffet, very attentive, friendly staff. Families with children will have a lot of fun here. Our romantically decorated room had a nice view. Unfortunately, the central air conditioning disturbed the night's sleep considerably. We (elderly couple) would like to come back anyway, but would then take a room in one of the other buildings, which are not affected.
Beautiful grounds and a variety of dinner and bar options on site. Very eco focused and a very helpful staff.
Wonderful and caring staff mixed with beautiful views
Absolutely beautiful! The rooms, location, views, and the property were all absolutely gorgeous. Rooms were very clean and well done. Service staff was phenomenal; the most friendly and helpful I've ever encountered. Our room did not have wi-fi or internet connection, even though other rooms did. Great breakfast buffet.
Attended a wedding here. Gorgeous reception and excellent food.
This is a nice resort right on the water. I am giving it 3 stars due to the noise levels in the main hotel. Wood floors with 2 inch gap under the door let in so much noise from the hall and wood floors above and thin walls let in noise from all sides. This is the first hotel I have stayed where they give you earplugs at turn down service. Other than that the hotel was clean, the breakfast was good and the decor was nice.
Great resort if you want to take a break from the hectic life. It has just the right amount of activities for the kids. There's always a wedding occasion, inside or outside by the water, to delight you. It's not the cheapest place, but if you plan well, you can get a good deal. Breakfast is included and while it's not the fanciest menu, it is very good tasting. Pool side food, lobster roll in particular, is fantastic. Restaurant food dining was a mixed feeling. It wasn't cheap as is consistent with the resort, but was presented well. Plenty of parking and complimentary shuttle to the town center is awesome. Or take a short walk and take in the views of expensive homes and boats.
Went for the wedding expo. Tons of vendors and lots of food samples along with the house appetizers being passed. Looking forward to my daughters wedding here Sept 2017
I was at the resort for a wedding which included a cocktail hour, wedding reception, and brunch. The food was outstanding as was the service. We were also able to use the shuttle service to get in and out of town. It was a very nice experience.
Stayed here with the family and everyone had a great time. Good location to see everything you want in the area.
This was our 3rd time at the Nonantum. We absolutely loved it here! They had always exceeded our expectations....Until this last trip. My husband and I booked a suite a year in advance for our anniversary. We ended up with a single room with 2 queen beds. I was so upset. We brought our kids this trip which is why we booked the suite. I understand people make mistakes. This was clearly a mistake. But it's all in how you handle it. The woman at the desk did not handle it well at all! She went as far to say that we could leave. We drove 4 1/2 hours for a reservation we made a year in advance to leave? We never received any e-mails. She quickly added that should would discount our room 50%. She was not kind or sympathetic. She was very curt and acted like it wasn't her mistake so sorry. So very disappointing!!!!!! Everyone else there was super nice.
Great family resort with lots of activities for kids.
Free WiFi was advertised but did not properly work in our wing of the hotel. Otherwise amazing location, room very nice.
I went to Nonantum for a rehearsal dinner and welcome reception. We just had drinks and the service was fine. The resort is beautiful and has a very nice New England feel. I would definitely come back for a longer stay.
You felt as one would have been treated in the height of the big, luxurious old Hotels.
I've only ever been for their Annual Fire and Ice event, but I love it here!
The nonantum is a charming way to visit keenebunkport. Their staff was attentive to our needs , often answering questions before I asked. When we first arrived Michael gave us an overview of everything... And I mean everything! He didn't just tell us what the resort had ,but also all around town. We used his suggestion s as our guide and had a lovely time. For the resort itself the rooms are pretty, and nicely kept up regardless of which wing you're in. They offer a variety of fun events for virtually anyone, whether sporty (basketball hoop), relaxed (drinks in aderondiak chairs ), or casual (shuffleboard), and also have the standard pool. If you are feeling indoorsy there is plenty of space to lounge inside and board games plus food options to pass your time. In essence you can do what you want when you want with the food & drink you want with helpful staff. Strongly recommend!
Cozy, comfortable, great breakfast and great service; members of staff were thoughtful and helpful.
