Very disapointful . The place doesn't have infrastructure to receive people - horrible food (junkie only), and staff not ready to give accurate information. We asked to two staff about the show time, they both said 3.30pm and the show started at 3pm, so we missed it.

A lot of the park was closed the day I went but I got to see some of the exhibits and the sea lion show ! It was all great, and it helps to have a good time when you know the animals are taken care of and look happy :) keep it up New York aquarium !

March 2017 is not the time for this. It was under maintenance. Even the admission is cheaper than usual, it still not worth for your time and money to be in a little aquarium seeing only few animals.

The tank is definitely worth a visit but they are still building so half of the aquarium is still closed + the lines are crazy , you might wait more than an hour to get to the shark tank. I would recommend waiting for the whole aquarium to open and go there during less busy periods e.g. fall.

This experience was definitely not worth the price. There was basically three small exhibits total with few specimens that were pretty much hidden the entire time. The place was extremely packed with tons of parents and children making it even harder to see anything or navigate your way through the aquarium. For small children I think this is an ok place to go. For anyone else I would take a hard pass.

If you have the chance, get out of the city to visit a better Aquarium; make a trip out of it! The aquarium really does try to provide a fun and creative learning experience for kids and visitors of all ages. The aquarium as way to crowded most of the time, which just comes from its NYC location. You can hardly take a moment to appreciate the life on display before the crowd pushes you along. Parking is just a nightmare, but again, that is just the NYC experience.
The aquarium is adjacent to Conney Island, which does provide a nice view of the harbor. The amusement park itself is nice to walk around in but everything is much too expensive. Even feeding the family will put you out of a pretty penny.

It is a relatively safe and secure location for young kids. They have police patrolling throughout, and post staff at nearly every corner of both inside and outside the aquarium.

If you have to, go ahead and visit, but if you have the possibility, get out to CT or MA for a genuine, stress and headache free, aquarium experience.

Its a good experience. However the price of admission is too much. The Aquarium is still not up to par after Sandy yet its moving along. Looking forward to seeing it finished. But still too pricey.

They are proudly called New York aquarium leaving people for high expectations. There is no much to see really. It's a small aquarium, and outdoor exhibitions of sea lions and other sea animals designed poorly so guests cannot see animals through the glass half walls as all they see is their own reflection. That's a bad design.

I used to visit a lot when I was younger...it's been about 15 years since my last visit and it doesn't seem to have changed too much! There's a new building/exhibit called "Sharks!" which was really nice, but it seemed that everything else had remained the same.

That's not the worst thing as there are some really beautiful tanks and animals to gawk at though!

There were also three exhibits that were closed...we weren't happy about that as we paid full price to get in just to have three out of six (?) exhibits closed.

Shark tank was really nice. Loved seeing the sea lion show. Too much of the aquarium still under renovation since Sandy. There were summer camp groups all over the place. It took us about an hour and we were done. Tried to contact the aquarium to ask questions before we went, but never could get to talk to a person. The 4-D movie scared my 4 yr. old grandson. Purchased my tickets on line and then when we got there, you had to pay to park that included a ticket to the aquarium for $25.00. Showed them our tickets and they reduced the parking to $13.00. I wouldn't recommend it until it is completed.

It was very crowded when I visited due maybe to the spring break but if you're a member, you won't need to worry about waiting in line. The ocean wonders sharks is AMAZING!!! Maybe that's what attracting the huge crowd. Prepare yourself for an underwater experience with fish and sharks swimming above your head. They did a good job fixing the place in the Sandy hurricane aftermath. The 4D theater is informative with facts about different species of sharks. An extra credit for a science class anyone? I would have given 5 stars but I found it unbelievable for a place so big that the ONLY available restroom was closed with everyone coming with little children. When I inquired about a restroom, nonchalantly the NYA employee told me to use the boardwalk. I ended up at Luna park with 2 squirming kids to use the restroom. Besides, the Bronx Zoo food truck was the only actual "food" choice there with their highly priced items. I mean $2.75 for a can of soda??!! Actually they deserve 2 stars but as a member, I truly care for the animals, so here's to my beloved animals: 4-stars.

Too much fun, too much to see by yourself, bring a friend, bring your family. You can see the Whales, the performing seals, the singing and acting aquarium staff. Being at the aquarium will make you young again as you walk around enjoying the undersea view of God s creation. After you ve perused the undersea then it s time to walk to the Coney Island beach take off your shoes and enjoy the sound of the pounding surf and the sand on your feet. Enjoy the day.

Beautiful shark exhibit. You walk thru and are surrounded by sharks, sting Ray's, and other spectacular sea creatures. Fun time at sea lion show. Had a great time. Some areas still closed due to Hurricane Sandy but enjoyed my 2 hours there with my daughter. Got summer tickets at half price. Will return again when renovations are completed.

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Where do I start? My son and I boarded the subway on 34th street in Newyork and braced ourselves for the 1 hour and 15 minute ride ahead of us. I had no clue that we were about to experience something awesome. When we got on the train like did I know the famous Coney island was right next to the aquarium! So not only did we get to see the wonderful sea lion show that exhibited tricks I've never see a sea lion and trainer do, but we got to take the path that connects the aquarium to the Coney island boardwalk! I'm telling you the 1 hour and 15 minute trip is so worth it!

I couldnt decide whether i thought it wasnt worth the $24 or not worth anything and ive decided its the latter. Its small, out of date and completely unimpressive. If you go to another state youll see what a real acquarium looks like. Im not sure what theyre doing with the profits but its not going into the exhibits. Stay home, watch national geographic
