it is one of the beat places we have visited for a long time and to think well behaved dogs welcome our lady loves coming to visit all the staff and the food is great nice choice and nice price to see you all on christmas day merry christmas to you all

Use to go here alot then, 1 day there card machine would not work & the most miserable land lady tells me it's not her machine as she looks down at me, then takes a card from another customer looks smugly @ me & guess what his card did not work, not even a sorry I'll never go back again horrible person

Great food and service. Only down side was the sink in the disabled toilet was hanging off the wall.

The food was good but overpriced for what is essentially a pub.

Truly outstanding food. Homemade pie ( chicken,leek and mushroom ) was delicious.

The maypole inn was fantastic tonight I can not thank them enough for the fantastic meals we had for my grandsons 18th birthday. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and very welcoming.i would recommend them to my friends or other members of the public who are looking for somewhere to eat.

What a lovely pub to visit only been once so far but after this visit I will be there again soon.

Lovely food and the beer garden and play area for the kids is great.

So much better now with New landlady .nice to see New people trying to bring this perfect watering hole up to date.nothing to much trouble for them.Great L&S keep it up.

Absolutely amazing meal tonight at the Maypole in Thurloxton, staff were lovely and friendly and very professional. Food was excellent, would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you for a great evening, will definitely be coming back.

Fabulous home cooked food, friendly helpful staff. Really great at catering for my daughter who is a coeliac, lots of gluten free options which they were more than happy to make as a smaller portion for her and a separate fryer

Friendly welcome and service. The Gammon meal was really excellent & large; the slow cooked belly pork was tasty but average & small by comparison - maybe because it was steak night! - tho it was still fine esp if you dont want a huge portion! First time we've been since changed hands again and its deffo better than it was and we will return. Nice to have it back on the map!

A pleasant atmosphere, but food that was relatively unimpressive both in terms of taste and portion size. Rather disappointing given that prices are not low.

If you do plan to visit, come down for lunch during weekdays- a set meal is offered that provides much better value for money.

A lovely country pub where the Menu was exceptional & 4 of us had a lovely lunch & were served in reasonable time.The staff were friendly & it was reasonably priced. I would definitely visit this place again &recommend to friends.

I visit regularly and have never had cause to complain. The menu is varied, and food is cooked well. It is wheelchair friendly but advisable to book a table if visiting with a wheelchair so the staff can reserve one on the level part. The bar and additional tables are a few steps down so anyone with mobility problems is best using the same level as the entrance door and where the facilities are situated, therefore advance booking friendly and helpful.

We had a fantastic evening out. The food was.great and the staff were very welcoming. Thanks very much.

Had lunch here today with wife and sister. The food was excellent and piping hot. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We will definitely return covid safe.

A fantastic meal with great service. Great kids meals and an excellent choice of adult meals. The steaks were wonderfully cooked and the mixed grill could feed two, but didn't ;-)

Very slow service for 2 meals booked table 7 o'clock meal turn up 8 o'clock others came in after us got meals much Quicker ,didn't think prices that great only part of my meal turn up had to ask for the rest waiting staff should know order ?? Drinks prices not cheap , But Meal OK Decent sized meal bit pricey I thought

We have really enjoyed our visits here since the new owners took over, the food is excellent with a good selection of gluten free options, really friendly staff and a great local pub atmosphere, we will visit again .

Best pub around, the food is exelent, the service couldn't be better, the Doom Bar bitter was perfect. If you haven't been there yet your missing out

Haven't been here for years. Was pleasantly surprised to find that the food is amazing , fresh and the portions make this place really great value.
The staff were helpful and I really like the fact that they allow (well behaved) dogs into the premises. Great atmosphere.

Very friendly all the staff went out of their way to help. Good food.

Went there on 11th November for a family meal of people. Food was cold and tasteless. Got charged for more puddings than we had. Will not go again as I was embarrassed that I took my family there for such a horrible cold meal.

The food was delicious, service friendly and a very relaxed atmosphere. It seemed very popular with lunchtime diners and I'm not surprised. Will definitely visit again.

Amazing food and service as always. Every table was full and the staff were amazing.

I would give it 5 stars the staff are always so helpful as my wife can only eat very small amount they go out of their way to make sure she is able to eat and the kitchen staff are fantastic as well as all the staff that serve us.

For the price the Sunday roast was awful not enough food and we had problems with the bill

I normally have their fish and chips and the fish is huge. Had it again tonight but it was half the usual size and and looked a light lunch option. It was very disappointing to leave hungry!! My wife thought it was mediocre. Defo not up to the usual standard. Service good though.

Really enjoyed our evening in the maypole. Decor was warm and inviting with lots of space to sit & enjoy the ambiance. The menu looked very nice albeit we didn't eat as it was an impromptu drink with family. Lovely pint of exmoor gold with my 2nd favourite ale, doombar as a quality back-up? Personally I would highly recommend this pub for almost anyone!

The new Landlords at the Maypole Inn who took over in November 2017, have really revived this great village pub. The ales are well kept and the food is excellent. The premises are spotless and the service is friendly and prompt. Highly recommended (It is now July 2018 and the Maypole is getting better and better. New decor is great and lots of nice little things here to be happy with. Food continues to be great)
