The overall hotel is great, staff are very friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet has a lot of options from Filipino, Chinese and American dishes. Given that this is a historical hotel, main hotel is well decorated, elegant and classic. Room are good given its age. The champagne room is great for romantic dinner. The hotel is giving free shuttle service to the nearest historical spots and malls. The pool is disappointing.

Recommendation:
The management should put some gallery for the historical events happened in that hotel. Most tourist would want to see the history behind the place.

The pool has a lot of potential if it is well maintained. Guest taking the route in second floor can see all the dirt. Management should make sure that it is well maintained and clean. The chairs foam were dirty. The tables set up facing the port has a lot of potential, you can add umbrellas, set up some romantic sunset cocktail event and conduct different cultural events like tinikling, atiatihan, in the open area before the pool.

Overall the hotel is good.

One of the Icon of the Philippines, one of the oldest hotel in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. The hotel is very clean, the people are very hospitable, you can feel the typical Filipino culture and kindness. The food are so delicious, the amenities are great, it is in the heart of the tourist attractions in Manila, one of the best hotels in the Philippines.

As for events. Manila Hotel lacks self-parking for the convenience for guest to get things in and out at anytime during events. Once Valet parked you don't have access to your car until you are ready to leave. Unconvenient if ever you need to just put things in the car during events

5 stars hotel very soon to lose a star. This is a 4 stars hotel at its best. Overcrowded and poor service. This is not an exclusive place.

Restaurants are closed 3 to 6pm so one can only eat at the lobby where there is no single choice of fish or meat. All food available was soups, salads, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, deserts.

Ordered a bottle of water with my lunch. They brought it without a glass. May be they expect me to drink straight from the bottle. Frozen french fries of low quality. Is it very hard to peal a potato?

Horrible, bad taste, Christmas decorations. Lobby looks cheap. I understand they want to keep a classic style but this needs a major renovation. Chairs are dirty with stains.

I stayed in Manila on a flight connection.

I stayed in Manila on a flight connection.
Since it was my first time in Manila, I chose this hotel with the points of being "the center of the city" and "being a hotel with history".
I stayed in the club room,
good points
The view from the room is very good.
You can see the old town on the city side and enjoy the beautiful sunset on the sea side.
We stayed twice and enjoyed both sides.
The meals in the club room are few and not luxurious, but the taste is not bad and you can have a good meal.
Although it is a little inconvenient to ask the staff for alcoholic drinks each time, various types of drinks are available except champagne.
The location of the hotel was the best to enjoy the old town, and the old town itself was nice.

bad points
Staff correspondence in the club room is not good. It often happens that what you say "take it" is not executed.
It takes a long time to check in (feeling like a club room?)

Next time, I'd like to make a different hotel, but I think it's a good hotel to stay at once.

Recently went there for a weekend. You are there for the bragging rights of having stayed at "The Manila Hotel", a place of history. History aside, the hotel has nothing exceptional to offer. Other 5 star hotels may offer better value for money.

IMO, the place is old and haven't really coped up well with other hotels. I must mention though that the staff are friendly. Location is good but suffers from the congestion of being near the city center. View from the 7F room will show case the pollution of Manila and Manila bay. You can sometimes smell the stink of Manila bay from the swimming pool. Our room showed signs of age.

Parking is terrible. There were empty slots inside the hotel premises but we were told those are reserved for officers and employees, and they will leave it empty when not in use. Paying guests (checked in) will have to risk parking at the area outside the hotel premises which are very public and has lots vehicular and foot traffic.

Valet parking is very risky. They park your car like sardines in a can. Side mirrors are almost in contact. I saw valet attendants not really mind hitting the adjacent car are as the get in or out of cars they park. Then they pretend to be courteous when they hand over the car to the owner.
Valet services in other establishments/hotels have well designated and safe areas.

Food in Cafe Ilang-ilang is ok but pricey, that's the reason we decide to have dinner in another resto outside. The Red Jade Chinese resto in the hotel has better price range and tastes authentic (was there for our lunch).

Key take away is the parking issue and the value for money. You'll be worried if your parked car is safe and you may want to consider other hotels for your money.

The renovation made such a beauty lift in this historic hotel! Lobby is awesome! We were about 400 who gathered to celebrate a birthday. Their buffet setup were impressive. Food excellent! And for about 4 tables, waiters were available for a sit-down dinner. Very professional staff! Thank you Manila Hotel! We will be back soon!

No stars. Brown stains on the bed sheets. Mosquitos in the room. Management refused to change rooms. Bathroom not cleaned from previous guest. Good view of burning trash on the Manila Bay side of the hotel. I do not recommend this hotel. This is a third world country and this hotel goes out of its way to prove it.

The lobby is breathtaking, the restos are good. Great place to hang out while absorbing the historical vibe of this place. Security measures are on point. Location is tops in an uncrowded part of Manila. Grand hotel by the bay, the rooms just need upgrading

Best mattress ever I had sat on and slept on. I wish to know the brand and type of mattress they use.
Excellent hotel design although does not look modern. Quite nostalgic feel. All the staff are very polite and welcoming. All look beautiful and handsome.
Nice pianist playing all the music/songs that I love. Very good for celebration or event as I always see many guest very well dressed and well groomed as thought they are attending weddings.

We were here for 10 days for a series of business meetings. Great range of restaurants, comfy and spacious rooms. The staff were incredibly hospitable, welcoming and friendly - equivalent to the best hotels I've stayed at. 4 stars instead of 5 as the WiFi was very poor at times
