I am new to the area. I walked round to the surgery to register after work, was treated in the most outrageously rude manner by one of the reception staff.

Reception was empty, I walked in, all I managed to say was "hello" before being dismissed with a wave of the hand and told brusquely she couldn't help me she was doing something else.

I was so taken a-back I just left. I just don't think that is a remotely professional or acceptable way to behave towards members of the public. Staggering.

Thankfully I hardly ever have to see a doctor but when I did have to a year or so ago I received excellent care & brilliant service by not only the two doctors but the phlebotomist too. It is sometimes difficult to get through on the phone but every surgery I imagine is snowed under & has this problem. Can t fault the staff though.

Been with this surgery all my life all 72 years and have seen many changes. Previously the reception staff were awful, that's being polite, fortunately the current staff are friendly and helpful with the exemption of one. Brilliant doctors.

The people answering the phone are extremely rude. The phone system they use is atrocious and it's a struggle to get through to them at 8am. You end up not being able to have an appointment even though you've been trying to get through since 8am sharp. And you are told to call back at 1.30pm to try your luck again.
Thanks for listening to my call on this occasion. My review is about the overall experience having been registered for many years. And reading the other reviews you must be aware of the way receptionists come across to people who call to get an appointment. Regarding the phone system there must be solutions that take all the incoming calls and put them in a queue to avoid people getting frustrated when the line is engaged. When I call the line is engaged on the 1st 10 to 20 calls and then once it finally rings it puts me in the queue once the system is not saturated. And i can confirm that on several occasions i was told to call back at 1.30pm.

Doctors are excellent. Receptionists are ignorant and extremely rude. I work in customer service and would never dream of speaking to a customer the way they talk to you on the phone. Having been asked do you want an appointment or not? When I asked if I could get a later appointment because of work. Always have to get an emergency appointment because you have to book weeks in advance to see a doctor.

I went there for three years before I moved away. The doctors are brilliant and most helpful, I would recommend anyone who is disgusted by the receptionists to actually try to get to the doctors.
The head doctor is quick on the uptake and will take you serious even if you report unusual things (just don't waste his time with what you ate for tea :)
And the young blonde doctor is equally brilliant and will make you feel so at ease it's incredible.
However, more than once I was fuming about the receptionists (one is particularly bad). They refused to give me a walk in appointment when I had a little accident during the night and was on a 48 h schedule (you have to call before....what!?!?).
As well, on 3 different occasions they addressed me in the rudest way ever: as Kumbis -WHAT? Miss...Kushshishishuski oh my god what a name, and once the receptionist hang up on me on the phone when I said hey here is Miss (my Polish sounding name) do you have any appointments this week? - No we don't have any appointments this week, bye (hang up).

I was ready to file a complaint but was too shy to bring it up with the doctors, they are just too nice. So yeah, go there for the doctors, they are brilliant. However, if you have a weird sounding name or your skin has a different color or you walk in with an emergency be prepared :S

I called the doctors surgery a couple of weeks ago the doctor gave me a prescription for tablets as I was suffering from a bit of a break down the tablets seem to be helping me however I broke out in lots of spots which I believe to an allergic reaction to the medication that's the only thing that's change with me I called the surgery this morning the doctor gave me the choice as to how I wanted to collect my prescription or will they send it to the chemist I chose to pick it up but when I picked up my prescription I was informed that I would no longer be able to pick up my prescriptions again and that the prescription would be sent to the chemist and they wanted to know which chemist I used but I told the receptionist that the doctor gave me the choice on how I wanted to receive my prescription anyway the receptionists attitude was rude abrupt and nasty I was completely shocked and upset by this receptionists attitude towards me I didn't even say anything I only asked for my prescription this kind of attitude towards patients is not helping my depression. If the receptionist is so worried about catching the covid 19 virus why did she hand me my prescription at the window without wearing a face mask the receptionist had curly ish black hair and wore spectacles. I used to rate this surgery very highly but if the receptionist is going to talk to patients with an attitude like this one did to me this morning I will definitely reporting this kind of behaviour to someone higher up this is completely unacceptable to treat patients that are sick my illness may not be visible but i do have an illness which is not easy to talk about it took me weeks and weeks before a friend of mine made me call the doctor.

Everytime I've had to go to the doctor I've had a wonderful experience. Such lovely compassionate doctors and the staff on front desk are nice too. Better than any other sugery I've been to. They really take your issues seriously.

Best doctors on the planet. But, by far the worst, rudest receptionist I've ever come across. The worst is probably the little troll sized women, I think she's the manager . Look at the other comments on here, all about rude, unhelpful, useless receptionist who think they're above you when they're in a dead end job and being paid minimum wage. Greig Sanderson
