The lodge is pleasant little place hidden right off I-55s. The country themed cabin is homey and inviting. If staying for a wedding, make sure you ask for a larger room as they can be small! Food was excellent, rooms were clean. Staff could be friendlier.

The Lodge was the venue I chose for my birthday party. Everyone had a wonderful time. The food was excellent and the staff catered to our every need. The Lodge has such a cozy ambiance and everyone felt right at home. Melissa and Bill made certain everything ran smoothly. I would certainly recommend the Lodge for events. The hostess can enjoy herself knowing everything will run smoothly. Thanks again to Sam and his staff.

Great bed & breakfast and/or party room for anniversaries, birthdays, etc. Food & drinks are exceptional..believe the food is catered for most events. Great atmosphere for small groups of 50 to 80 or so people.

Stayed in the Mary Lincoln Room for an anniversary evening. Very nice that our room was ready 3-4 hours before standard check in. COVID made our stay a little surreal in that my wife and I were the only two people in the entire lodge until the morning. We enjoyed our time and stayed safe and sound. The Lodge is uniquely decorated.
Breakfast with eggs made to order at a time of our choosing.

My husband and I stayed at the Lodge last week. We had an enjoyable time. Upon arriving the manager Matthew was a delight. He showed us to our room, printed out directions for us, gave us a parking pass for downtown (saved us $25!) and suggested the best Thai restaurant my husband has ever been to, and he is picky! Every morning we had a nice breakfast and delicious coffee. I read other reviews about the stuff in the rooms, I think its charming and unique! The decor is what truly sets this place apart from all the other stuffy bed and breakfast. The only reason I can not give the Lodge 5 stars was our housekeeper. He was rude, spoke under his breath about people and we heard him on more than one occasion cursing at we assumed another employee. What topped it off was his actions towards an elderly couple. They were at the Lodge celebrating an 80th birthday. The manager Matthew surprised him with a card and cake at our breakfast table. It was a nice surprise and a touch that a motel chain wouldn't offer. After breakfast, the couple asked the housekeeper for directions to Grants Farm, he walked away saying," I didn't get tipped enough for directions". It was the rudest thing we have ever witnessed. Other than the housekeeper, our stay was pleasant, and we would totally come back again when we are in the area.

Stayed in the Mary Lincoln Suite, and it was fantastic. The Jacuzzi is top of the line, the fireplace next to the bed is quite warm, the little touches make it a unique experience, and the breakfast was excellent. We checked in late and they were very accommodating.

This is a great place. Our group of about 25 had a catered event there for Christmas in the hearth room. The quality of the food was amazing for the quantity that was put out on the serving line. Everything was well organized and plated food was hot and tasty when we got back to our seats. Hats off to the staff for a great job. We've never taken a room here, but want to, it's old world charm and unique lodge decor is very interesting. If my review helps you out please take a second to Like it. Thanks.

Great atmosphere, service, and food. The rooms are fabulous, although the bed in the Alaska room is very creaky so if you toss and turn a lot it will keep you awake.
All the food was good. Prime rib at breakfast was phenomenal. Our Hostess Mary was so nice and the bartender Tim did a great job as well. Highly recommend.

The Lodge was incredibly accommodating. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and a delicious breakfast! We stayed in the Mary Lincoln room. The balcony view was lovely. The spa tub was also a big plus. The entire wedding party We were in stayed here. We all enjoyed our stay!

We stayed one night in the safari room. The room was clean but small, the bed comfortable. Staff who served breakfast was friendly and accommodating. My issue is they rent out the facility for events and you are instructed to only go in the "great room and back area if there is no event. The night we stayed there was an event going in the afternoon so we went out came back in the evening to find a wedding going on. We were stuck in out room with loud music etc going on. It was very awkward and frustrating. No one was there to talk to about the situation. We tried reaching out and got No response. We payed a decent amount for our room and should have had access to the common areas. They need to decide whether they want to be a bed and breakfast or event facility !

Hello! My new wife Lynn and I,( Dennis Largent ) used The Lodge at Grant's Trail for our venue to be married! From the very beginning of the process we were treated more like family the clients! The taste testing, the staff, our room, the food served, and open bar was bar none a five star job done by ALL! The Orlando family should be proud of the level of commitment of their staff! Kudos to ALL of you!

Sincerely, Dennis and Lynn Largent

We rented out the entire lodge for the night for our wedding. We held the ceremony and reception at the lodge and then spent the night. All of the bedrooms are themed. The lodge has such character all on its own, that it barely needed any decorations of our own. The food was delicious, the staff was accommodating and very friendly and professional. From sneak peek photos, everyone wants to know what beautiful location I was married at. The suites are incredible. Just the perfect place for a wedding or an intimate location to have a date weekend. I couldn't have had a better night. Sssooo happy!

In room when staff had given a new check in a key to our room. They started coming in. Not good. Breakfast was average, nothing special. They forgot our wine and cheese tray we were supposed to get.

We had our daughter's Halloween Wedding reception here in 2020. Despite the pandemic, everything was wonderful! They took all the necessary precautions. Denise was extremely pleasant and accommodating. She made all the details easy. We were able to decorate with few restrictions. The catered dinner from Orlando's was excellent! Our servers, Carol and Rob were very nice as well as Mark, our bartender. We ended up booking all of the rooms for the wedding party and were able to extend our celebration. The hot breakfast the next morning was also amazing. This place is so neat; it was the perfect setting for their reception and I know they just loved it!

When my husband and I wanted to gift a honeymoon room to my step-daughter and her new husband, our first thought was Grant's Trail since my husband and I got married there 10 years ago and it was fantastic. When I had a conversation with Matthew the GM, he took it upon himself to make this an even more special occasion. He suggested moving them to the Mary Lincoln room since there is a conference room/bedroom (Abe Lincoln Room - has a Murphy bed that folds up into the wall) off of that room where we could have a small party after the private wedding ceremony. Even though on the day of the wedding there was another event in the lodge, you would have thought ours was the only one! Matthew took care of everything - even sneaking a basket up for the newlyweds while we were all enjoying pizza in the adjoining room. Matthew also took care of the setup (drinks, cups, etc) and cleanup of the room after the family left giving the newlyweds some privacy.
The Lodge and the Rooms are exactly as pictured wonderful and warm. The kids loved it and it made planning this event worry free. In this day of minimal customer service it is nice to know that the old values exist and are on display daily.

Mathew there is a mean horrible person, piss poor attitude, management needs to get a clue.
We booked our wedding there 1 year in advance, then 3 weeks prior to that date, they forgot we had a wedding there, they rented out our rooms from under our feet too. The guest complained about the noise, hello it's a wedding and they shouldn't have even been there.

What a great place! My best friend from high school was getting married and I wanted to give them a special gift. I called the Lodge and spoke with the manager, Matthew. He was very enthusiastic about my best friend spending her wedding night at the Lodge. He went above and beyond to make sure they were surprised and that they had the very best time. He suggested that I bring in the gifts I had for them and leave them in his office until we all left for dinner, when he then put them in the room for us. When we came back, he not only had the gifts in the room but also had arranged the flowers we purchased into a vase for them, had home made cookies and strawberries with the champagne we purchased (yes, they even have champagne at the lodge), everything was perfect! We went down and thanked him. My friend told him they had to leave early the next morning (6:30 am) and would not be down for breakfast because breakfast starts at 7:30 am. They called me the next morning to tell me that Matthew had arrived extra early to make them their breakfast before their long drive back to Tennessee. These are the great "extras" that you can not get from a chain hotel. I cannot express our gratitude enough. The lodge is very beautiful. You wouldn't expect such a place in St Louis, and justly off the highway. It truly is a hidden gem. My friend had the most wonderful time on her most important day, all because of the the excellent customer service from Matthew and his staff at the Lodge at grants trail. I have told my hubby that we must have a weekend getaway here very soon.

Had a fantastic stay! If you like the experience of bed & breakfast meets Lodge, you'll enjoy staying here. Some rooms are smaller than others...we stayed in the Mississippi Room, just the right fit for me and my daughter, we're both small...some rooms are larger. The food was great! The staff, Vicky and Clark - wonderful!! Got to know some of the other guests...they mentioned that the side facing highway was a bit noisy...not so with 'our side' of lodge - quiet on our side. Some of the 'complaints' I read were pertaining to such minor things - really. Overall, saw good reviews -& I'm with those - I liked staying in a place that was NOT a chain hotel, but a more personal and unique experience.

I went to Lodge at Grant's Trail because we were thinking about using it as a venue for our wedding, however the person who was supposed to give us the tour mixed up his appointment times and was not there. Then, when an associate of his let us in, we found out that we were a little misled about the capacity of the venue. The inside can only fit 80 people for a sit down buffet..

The place is beautiful though and your typical banquet hall. It has a lot of character.

Very beautiful. We had our reception and there and it was wonderful. It is very small so not a good place for a big party. The rooms were gorgeous. There was a mix up the night of our wedding unfortunately where they scheduled us and another newly wed couple in the same room. It was frustrating but it got straightened out and we got our room free and another one free. Beautiful place!!

We celebrated a friend s birthday with about 25 people. It s hard to imagine that this mountain lodge is only 15 minutes from downtown St Louis. Every detail of the lodge has been thoughtfully assembled to create this incredibly warm and More

The ambiance is perfect for the wedding reception I attended. The staff was very pleasant. My husband and I rented out the whole lodge for our wedding party and guests 14 years ago and I still have fond memories of our experience.
