Delicious vegetarian and vegan food. I had the vegan enchiladas and they were absolutely delicious and so flavorful. The serving sizes were smaller than I expected for the price, but the atmosphere and service made it a great dinner experience. I would go again!

Awesome vegan and vegetarian food in a lovely atmosphere! Great for date night. Have never been disappointed after coming here. Menu changes frequently so there's always something new to try. I will never forget the mushroom ramen. Bless. Beautiful cocktails and great wine selection, too!

As a four year vegan and connoisseur of delicious vegan food, I can safely say this is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten. We got the poke appetizer (tofu), my wife got the mushroom risotto, and I had the vegan mac and cheese skillet. The host and waitress were both incredibly welcoming and helpful, the entire experience was superb. Extremely dog friendly as well, down to ensuring our dogs had a full bowl of water. Without a doubt, five stars. If I could give it ten I would!

Decent vegan Reuben sandwich with tempeh. Homemade sweet potato chips are decent and have a spicy kick. Definitely worth returning but I think I'll explore other menu items before repeating these. Vegan carrot cake was amazing. Nice outdoor seating area with some shaded spots.

We love this place! Great healthy place for brunch, lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and the shaded outdoor seating on wall street is enjoyable. Happy to run in for a juice, or to sit down for Tempeh Ruben and Buchi! Highly recommend! Service is ALWAYS on point and BENJAMIN deserves a lot of credit for being such a dedicated Front of House manager and keeping the place running as smoothly as it does!

SUCH GOOD SERVICE! And food! Oh my gosh where do I start. The curry is AMAZING! Our waitress was amazing. I would definitely recommend coming here even if you aren't vegan/vegetarian. It was so good to have some fresh healthy food after traveling.

Great gluten free vegetarian food, as always. Good service and atmosphere. You wouldn't even know the food is vegetarian it's so freaking awesome. If you're in Asheville, you should really check this place out.

And the gluten free bread is out of this world!

This was my first exposure the the flavor possibilities of vegan food. The menu can be a bit confusing to someone unfamiliar with the cuisine, but the staff does a phenomenal job with pointing you in the right direction. A solid 10/10

The Laughing Seed Cafe is a vegetarian cafe off Wa...

The Laughing Seed Cafe is a vegetarian cafe off Wall Street in Downtown Asheville -featuring unique and fresh vegetarian farm to table & raw food. They ve got lots of vegan options too.

When I m headed to that area of town - I always park in the Wall Street Garage. None of the parking attendants judge me when I sit in my car and sob for twenty minutes before leaving, or when I take five minutes to scrounge around in the bottom of my purse for loose change to pay the bill. Bonus; parking for the first hour is free.

So anyway - take the elevator down from the garage, and it will drop you off right on Wall Street in front of the Laughing Seed.

The cafe itself has both indoor and outdoor seating. Normally I like to sit out on the patio, but it s *still* winter - and (slightly) cold, so I sat inside in the back dining room.

Wait at the host station and they ll bring you to a a table.

There s lots of exciting drink choices at the Laughing Seed; including specialty cocktails with names like Jessica Rabbit and, Interstellar Aviation . They also have mocktails, classic cocktails, fresh live juices, smoothies, sodas, and kombucha to choose from.

The lunch menu has lots of apps, salads sandwiches, warm entrees like bowls - burritos & tacos - as well as raw entrees & desserts. Lots of their dishes are made with locally sourced ingredients.

The Sweet potato chips that came with my veggie burger were fresh tasting & very crunchy. Nom nom nom.

The burger itself was red inside - (probably the beets) and very tasty. It (actually) didn t taste seedy at all, but rather had kind of a meaty consistency and was a real meat replica; but without all the blood and guts.

After my very delicious lunch, I stopped by Appalachian Naturals Saponifist to browse their unique selection of natural/handmade soaps and such - they ve got (hard to find) lye soap - which is always great for treating Poison Ivy. Lye soap is the perfect remedy for when you get lost in the woods mid - midnight haunt and resort to sleeping in a poison ivy bush.

Oh & while you re in the shop - make sure to take a peek behind the front counter where they used to actually make the soap! It s reminiscent of an old fashioned apothecary and completely enchanting.

Before you head back to the parking garage - make sure to stop by the Violet Owl Wellness shop for some more great finds! I purchased an all natural - local, hand made lavender salve, that I ve been using as lip balm; and it s been keeping my lips super soft.

I went yesterday in a rare opportunity in my busy life to get a moment and eat at one of the few vegan restaurants in Asheville. I was so excited to be seated and handed a menu. And that's where my excitement ended. Because I was FORGOTTEN ABOUT. I watched my server bring food to other tables , watched them eat their full meals, and get their tables cleaned before I was even asked what I wanted to drink. I sat and waited, for a solid twenty minutes before I just stood up and walked out. Incredibly disappointing experience.

I really liked the food, although the service was slow. It took almost 10 minutes for someone to return to our table to take our order. Once our food arrived, however, she was on top of it.

Because this is an exclusively vegetarian restaurant, I wouldn't recommend bringing your non-vegetarian, traditional-southern-food-loving friends. My grandmother had a very hard time choosing a dish and ultimately did not enjoy the burger. But my fiance loves meat and DID enjoy the reuben. It really depends on their palate.

The BBQ jackfruit sandwich with slaw was delicious, though! And the reuben, too! I loved the food!

Not happy. I am an Asheville native. Not a transplant or tourist. Have been frequenting this restaurant since it s opening. The food/menu was once more flavorful and much better variety. The menu seems to have gone mainstream . No creativity anymore. The server wasn t attentive. We ordered appetizers from one server, then the drinks from the server who brought appetizers. Then the food order to the original server and food was delivered, by yet another server. Not one of these ever returned to ask us how we were, or if we needed anything!! Food was bland and missing several condiments that were supposed to be on orders. AND VERY disappointed that a side salad and French fries cost $2 extra as a side...these are literally an everyday, normal side...who charges $2 for nothing special?!? It s a basic salad and Idaho potatoes??! We will not return. Sad to say.

if you want a really healthy and veggie friendly meal, this is a great option! I split the veggie bowl with a couple other people and it was definitely what we were in the mood for. the bowl wasn't the BEST thing I've ever had but it was good and I enjoyed it because I was really in the mood for a good clean healthy meal. their sweet potato fries are delicious especially with the Sriracha Mayo, and the MEAD IS SO GOOD I would highly recommend it

I love Laughing Seed because of their delicious food, drinks and atmosphere right off Wall St in Asheville. I recommend their Sunday brunch or breakfast foods which are delightfully sinful and vegetarian/vegan options abound. They have wonderful flavors and do Indian food really well. Try their vegan cinnamon rolls!

First the server that sat us was a completer jerk and had some type of attitude when we wanted to switch tables. Not sure what his problem was.

The food was very good. My wife and I both ordered salads and all of the ingredients looked and tasted fresh. The quality was definitely there and the presentation was good as well. I like when a restaurant takes the time to present the dish with some pride.

Our server was very friendly, attentive and quick to address any questions or needs we had.

Great spot for vegan and vegetarian meals. My first really vegetarian/meat free dish years ago and I've been looking for different veggie options ever since. They really do an awesome job with the texture and consistency that it blends really well with the flavors in each dish. Always pop in when I'm in Asheville.

For a vegetarian/ vegan restaurant the food is fantastic! The Reuben is delicious and so is the harmony bowl. I always add avocado. I also really enjoy the dragon bowl salad. They have a nice wine selection too. If the weather is nice, sit outside and people watch.

The food was quite tasty, but it was a little pricey for my taste. One person in my party got a grilled cheese sandwhich which was a bit subpar. The atmosphere is just meh. The service was okay, but not stellar. For the price I was paying I was expecting a bit more.

The food is amazing! The only problem: we had 5 girls at our table and we all requested separate checks. The waitress added gratuity and did not tell us...later we realized we had each given 30% tips unwittingly. BE AWARE
The beer selection was fantastic by the way...so much have been added after the post that said different.

The chocolate espresso pancakes were the most decorous thing I ve ever had. There were many vegan options. The service and atmosphere are both great. I would like it if they offered specialty coffee drinks like lattes though.

Some healthy options and some "naughty" options. All vegetarian and loads of already-vegan or easily made vegan options. I've tried several dishes and I'm always happy with the serving size and quality of the food. Tostada Ensalada, jalapeno fries, and the harmony bowl are some of the best. Lovely decor/furnishings. Great service today but has historically been very subpar. Park in the deck at the end of the street. Free for 1st hour and $1.25 for each additional hour.
