When yoh have a lot of food allergies it's impossible to eat out when traveling. This was ine of the healthiest and most delicious meals I have ever eaten. I had the vegan manicotti, which I could not believe even existed! Not only that, it was soy free, the "ricotta" being made with "cashews" I also made made my husband try the mushroom and aomething elae patte, which was delicious. I'm not a vegan, its just easier to eat that way it all my allergies. Its so harr to find began/vegetarian food that is flavorful, and this place doesn't disappoint. I could could probably not bring my 4 year old here though....

Amazing food!!!! My south by southwest burrito was on point. The staff was first class. The atmosphere is welcoming and full of good vibes. Our little girl was able to walk around. The art is vibrant. Great place for good people to eat!

This place was lovely. The food was absolutely delicious. I wanted to try everything on the menu. The outdoor seating was nice and the umbrella kept all of us, including my dog, dry when it started raining. Our server was great, too. I definitely recommend trying it out!

Food is pretty good, but pretty pricey. Portions aren't that great. Waitresses are usually very snooty and have the classic asheville hipster angry mood. One tall blonde girl is super nice though! I give her five stars totally!

One time I was in New Hampshire at a vegan cafe. The nice lady running it asked where we were from, I said asheville NC. She said, "Oh I went there sometime ago, whats that vegan resturaunt again? You know, the one where all the workers have bad attitudes?" Shocked we said, "you must mean laughing seed? She said, "yea thats the one!"

The brunch here is so freaking good! The bagel appetizer is my favorite but I always get the cinnamon bun too! Great date spot, friendly staff and seriously amazing vegetarian and vegan cuisine! The dinner menu is also delicious! One of my favorite spots for sure!

A tasty, moderately priced vegan friendly restaurant in the heart of Asheville? Sign me up! I left full, satisfied and happy! Our server was as sweet as could be and the food was incredible. I had a hard time picking a dish! Went with the zucchini noodles stuffed with cashew ricotta/marina as well as one of the smoothies. I wanted to go back the second we left!

Veg and vegan affair. Drop dead gorgeous plates. Vibrantly delicious food. Everything was packed with flavor and delicious. The bartender came to my table to tell me they were out of a key component of a drink and instead of compromising the integrity of the signature drink, they offered to make me anything else. Such generous portions and such amazing flavor.

Great place and atmosphere. Food was excellent and the menu was varied enough that everyone (even the non vegetarians) found something they loved. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful and took the time to explain any item on the menu. While eating on the patio a violin player set up across the street and played some music which, while having nothing to do with the restaurant, was very enjoyable.

Amazing vegetarian and vegan food. The jalapeno and onion fries with vegan ranch are incredible. Even if you're not vegetarian. I was with my brother who is not at all vegetarian but he loved it too.

I'm not a vegetarian at all, but my girlfriend wanted to try the laughing seed while we were in town. There's no shortage of menu items for anyone, regardless if you're a vegetarian or not. The food was excellent and I'd absolutely come back.

The service was good and educated on different diets and allergies. The food was absolutely delicious. A good place for meat alternatives. Catered for just about any type of diet. Overall very impressed with the food. Portions were filling and tasty.

I am not one for most vegetarian restaurants, however this is my second time to Asheville and second time to Laughing Seed Cafe. They have a great selection, fast prep, and the food tastes great!

Fantastic vegetarian food in Asheville. Classy place with good selection of beers and a really great staff. Our waitress was very helpful and kind. She even went to the kitchen and asked the chef about a one of their culinary secrets that I was curious about. Very creative vegetarian menu, I highly recommend The Green Sage in Asheville.

Edible, but not good.

Edible, but not good.
I had the seed burger. Which was almost comically small given it's high price. Although okay to eat. Sweet potato chips taste exactly like sweet potato chips.
My girlfriend got the Pankora, which seemed to be simply an Indian batter blend mixed with vegetable scraps, as she found more than one large end portion of a vegetable, like one might find in the garbage.

These two items with 2 beers cost over 50 dollars after tip, hilariously overpriced for a tiny burger and an appetizer.

Laughing Seed cafe is a must visit if you are in Asheville. The food is PHENOMENAL! I am a true foodie and a plant based home chef and I highly recommend Laughing see to anyone- plant based or not! The cauliflower buffalo tacos were lightly breaded and flash fried (not greasy at all) with a good amount of heat in the buffalo sauce and the chipotle aioli added a nice finish. The housemade sweet potato chips are addicting (dusted in old bay like seasoning which spoke volumes to my native Marylander!). The laughing seed burger is the best veggie burger I ve ever had and that garlic aioli OMG! Let s not forget the kale potato salad - so freaking yum! And a special shout out to the staff, especially Morgan, who made it possible for a weary traveler to get all this plant based goodness even though my arrival time was past closing. I will be back!

Excellent service, huge menu. All vegetarian, mostly vegan, a lot of gluten-free. I had the tostada salad, which was a fantasy of textures and flavors. Definitely on my list to visit the next time I'm in Asheville.

I've been eating at the Laughing Seed for well over a decade now, and I'm sad to say that their food and service has really gone downhill. The last few times I've been there things have progressively gotten worse. They used to really care about their food, now it seems like they only serve food that suits the tread of what's considered "healthy" at the moment. The food is not inexpensive so I think their clients deserve better. I ate there yesterday and the food made me sick for the rest of the afternoon. Everything was bland, but over spiced with curry and tons of black pepper to cover up the poor quality. I can make much better food at home myself, next time I will. I'm sorry to say that this will be my last meal at the Laughing Seed.

Food was great! Be careful if you have mobility issues and are trying to go down the stairs. We were pushed out of the way by a young lady who couldn't wait five seconds to get her tables drink order to the bar. If we had fallen the restaurant would be called "Jason's Seed Cafe". This would have been a 5 star review but one ladies impatience cost 2 stars. Our waitress was fantastic and I'd return just for her. Food - 5 stars / our waitress - 5 stars / impatient waitress from another section - 0 stars.

Ginger sesame dressing was delicious, vegetable/Shepard's pie ($15) was fine (could have been more non-potato parts & flavor, but that's on me for getting a Shepard's pie probably). Good beer (~$6) & drink (~$9) selection with a variety of kombuchas and mocktails. I'd definitely come back to try other options. Very fast service.

Pretty good vegetarian restaurant! In fact, this is one of my favorites Ive ever been to before. The brunch was good. I liked the soup I ordered but the gravy on the biscuit was a little too sweet for me.

Really not sure about this place. I am very much into knowing exactly what I'm eating and whether or not items are organic or local and organic. On the menu some items are marked as organic which eludes me to thinking the items that are not marked organic are not organic. I asked my waitress's and she was super friendly but just wasn't fully sure about the ingredients used. For me this is the most important aspect of a restaurant. I got the zucchini pesto and that was good, a bit salty but tasted good. Very pretty presentation. Are the chocolate chips used in the cookies vegan and organic? These questions it was hard to get a clear answer to.

I have dined here once and had done a take out another time. We dined here on a special occasion. Both the food and the service made it a pleasant experience. I did manage to get a taste of Miyabizushi and Artichoke dip for appetizers and Banh Mi, Reuben, Havana Cuban and Sloppy Jo.

All their dishes have some unique taste to it which makes it difficult to rate one better than the other. I would definitely credit this place for introducing us to Kombucha. Ever since then, it has become our de-facto non alcoholic beverage of choice.

Menu with varied choices, tasty good food and affordable price and pleasant service.

Walking distance from my apartment so I eat hear a minimum of once a week. Great food and some of the nicest staff I ve experienced in any downtown A ville eatery. I probably get the cauliflower crust pizza the most but they have wonderful salads. Highly recommend this place for a good/healthy meal.
