Definitely one of the best hotels in Taiwan. The hotel has stunning views over the Sun Moon Lake and boosts quite a few facilities such as the infinity pool and the library. The breakfast is also delicious (and with great view for sure). The hotel staff is not only friendly but professional as well. The only drawback is the gym (which is fairly small and no view!) and Sauna (which even hotel guest needs to pay extra NT$300 pp). Still, would love to come back again in summer.

Stayed for one night in July and the experience was very good. Although the hotel is old, it is well maintained, the breakfast is delicious, and the scenery is invincible, so on October 11, I took my family to stay in a four-person lake-view room. The room type we stayed in was 1613+1612 connecting room. Among them, 1612 is a smaller double room. When the toilet ventilation is turned off at night, the air-conditioning sound is quite loud and noisy, even with high-frequency sharp noise (that is, the air-conditioning is booming plus the high-sound noise). I couldn't fall asleep, explained the problem to the counter & asked for earplugs. The counter arranged for a technician to come in and check. After confirmation, it was said that it could not even be repaired. To solve the noise problem, the air conditioner had to be turned off and indicated that it would respond to the air-conditioning problem with the counter. It was eleven or twelve o'clock, and the hotel staff turned off the air-conditioning to go to bed without embarrassing them. Was awakened by heat at four or five in the morning. The quality of sleep throughout the night was very poor, it can be said that I did not rest at all. When I checked out the next day, the counter did not take the initiative to explain the problem. When I reminded the counter of the air-conditioning problem, the counter only said that it would find someone to check the air-conditioning but did not actively mention any compensation measures.
