Place has been bought over by Asian Heritage Museum Sdn Bhd to showcase artifacts related to Malaysia's history such as her original national flag, the room in which the Merdeka declaration was signed and photos taken by important Malaysian royalty. Visitation as of now is only by appointment as filming on set and events are held there but renovation is generally happening. Do reach out to the abovementioned company to find out more.
It's not a museum, it's a government office, we walked from botanical garden to here just to stop by security and return, quite nice surrounding actually, big big trees, less or almost no traffic noise.

What an exceptional experience! Come and experience yourself. It's creepy. I can imagine the glorious time it had. (Update on 3.10.18: Just watched "The Crazy Rich Asian", the night scene of the external building & and the grand staircase were so beautiful & memorable.)

Now it's closed. Divided into two old palaces of YDP Agong (Carcosa) and guest house (Seri Negara). Being a transit place while overseas diplomats and once inhabited by Quen Elizabeth. It has also been used as the Mess @ the House of the Right-Holding Army in Japan. There are too many historical stories here. Wait for it to reopen to the public.
Pretty quiet place with beautiful sceneries , to those who came here because of the crazy rich Asian movie pls keep in mind that this is a museum and it's only open until 6pm!

A local? You're missing out if you don't come here. They have our Malaysian flag with less than 14 pointed star. The aesthetics are sublime and good place for photo opt too.
Beautiful pair of British colonial houses of which, unfortunately, one part (Carcosa) remains unsightly, while the other (Seri Negara) maintains its grandeur.
What a great night events we had with 400 delegates from the world cancer congress they r our visitors tonight in this very special place full of historical moment and the theme was MALAYSIA IN A NUTSHELL they had put up lion dance, malay gong music, Indian dance and drums and multiple cultural experiences for all the worldwide delegates truly portraying whole malaysian culture in a nutshell for international delegates I highly recommend this place for all medical society and congress ORGANIZERS to present to their wonderful international delegates to make malaysia wonderfully known !! What an exceptional experience we had ! Even the locals are way too proud of these experiences and truly we r at the heart of asia may God bless our malaysian home land !!!
The ENTIRE compound is LOCKED UP. Felt sad that nothing was done to preserve this part off our heritage.
Government money wasted on other useless 'modern' skyscrapers and what not.
The jungle may claim back the whole compound one day.
1896 Malaysia's first governor's residence, the British are not heat-resistant, so the promenade is particularly airy, the suites are particularly large, overlooking the TV tower and klcc, the English afternoon tea in the French restaurant Marsuri and Drawing Room is not cheap but Value for money.
A place that should be preserved as a national treasure that has its own center of attraction for people who loves historical items and antiques from events dated back in the year of 50's
The place is runned down but the structure and environment is beautiful
