The 5 star rating is mainly based on the beauty of the location. As for the mountain conditions, the runs were super icy but manageable, the green runs are more difficult than I was expecting (I'm a beginner) which is great for those who are really good at either snowboarding or skiing. Also, there are some runs that were not that great for myself, as a snowboarder, they were more for skiers because there were flat areas, these runs should be better indicated (We did a lot of walking on these runs). Aside from that we had an adventurous time.

Massive hill and the gondola can put a ton of people on it. If you like some advanced tree riding check out to skiers left of the Larch lift line, there's some cliffs there and it's tight and somewhat flat at the bottom though so not for beginners.

Amazing ski resort for it's unique world class snow and views, but lifts need an upgrade, implement some high speed chairs, improve connections, the planners/managers should go to Austrian Alps for some schooling.

An amazing ski hill. Great snow and perfect for any skill level. Lots of lifts and options for the day. Food prices are not crazy and when the snow is good there is no place better in Alberta to hit the hills. Fantastic views!

Best ski resort in Banff, Why? Ski courts are awesome there are wide, narrows, with trees, bumps. Friendly and nice riders around. Lots of chairlift and 1 gondola.
Buses are free from Banff.

My wife and I skied at Sunshine Village the day before, on a Friday, and it was a lot less busy than Lake Louise was on a Saturday. We found it quite a bit smaller than Sunshine and the snow wasn't as good. The food options in the cafeterias were also quite limited, just basically burgers, hot dogs and chicken fingers. Amazing views, though. Still a good place to ski, especially during the week when it's likely less busy, but we generally preferred Sunshine.

Parking lots were open and easy for our truck and RV trailer. But the free shuttle to Lake Louise and back has a scheduling problem. Getting over to Lake Louise was ok, but they never showed for the 4:10 (16:10) pick up. A lot of us were stuck in front of the hotel until the shuttle finally arrived. Well, we did get our money's worth. Zero equals zero.

People were nice. A wide range of trails, from mellow green to dodging through rocks. Food on the mountain were good - excellent pull pork sandwiches at the Traveler Lodge. Short line most of the time. The view from the back bowl was spectacular. And the lodge parking is worth it. An wonderful experience from start to finish. Excellent instructors, especially Dan H. the South African! The restaurants offer plenty of choice and the views are simply breathtaking! We will definitely return.

Awesome resort and much less crowded than Banff Sunshine. If you are a snowboarder, I would definitely recommend coming here vs. Sunshine because it does not have flat areas like Sunshine.

Beauty.

This was probably the better ons of the Big3 Ski mountains. What an awesome experience hitting fresh powder. It was cold the week we were in Banff so layer up lots and get those hand and foot warmers. The hot chocolate at all the restaurants are awesome and helped. Really some of the best skiing ever.

3 based on west coast standards, but better than anything in the east. They don't get as much snow as BC resorts. Whistler is much better. I prefer Fernie if you're looking for something near Calgary or Revelstoke if you're willing to drive that far in sketchy winter conditions.

Do yourself a favour and experience the amazing hills of Lake Louise. At first I was so excited I started by racing down the hills. By the third day I had found my pace and would enjoy more frequent stops and enjoy the scenery.

The best place for ski ing in Canada, amazing slopes,BUT a word of warning the Green slope's are very challenging compared to most European resorts however on the plus side the resort has double black runs for the most accomplished skiers. Superb resort.
The village thought is pretty small with a small shopping mall,a couple of petrol stations, and a few restaurants.Check opening times though as they do seem to open odd hours.
Lake Louise lake is a must to visit which is adjacent to the Fairmont Hotel complex.

Awesome resort. It was the first time that i have been to Lake Louise before and i really enjoyed. The lifts were quick and it was easy to get lots of runs in. Lots of choices too. Also, they had some pretty decent food there as well!

This was my favorite resort out of the "Big3". The runs are long and there are enough different runs, of all difficulty levels, to spread out the crowds. The view from the top is breathtaking!

Amazing place to go skiing and snowboarding. The gondola is definitely the highlight of the place. If you are learning how to ride I would not recommend this place because the bunny hill is quite small. It also uses a slow moving conveyer belt in order for riders to get up. I wish it was a small char lift instead. I would definitely go here for a whole weekend just to go snowboarding.

Ski shuttle is free / included in the price from Banff. So you can get to the ski resort comfortably and in a classy bus. There are routes for beginners to professionals, even freeskiers get their money's worth on big jumps. The food is good and okay from the price. Slopes are in good condition. Top. I would complain that a large number of the black slopes are humped. In addition, $ 135 is very steep for the day.
