I really enjoy Lake of the Woods but $6 parking and it's hard to find a spot and then to have the surprise of we can't order off the menu and there is a buffet but it's $26 a plate I realize you have awesome food that's why we made the trip up here but we can't eat that much and my wife is gluten allergic so we just turned around and came home early ending of our date in the woods

The food and experience were exceptional. High standards are in place for the food, excellent burgers, wonderful view and great service. The prices were slightly in the high side ($13 for a basic burger), but there is also no competition so it is understandable. $5 for parking.

Get reservations early. Rv spots one through 18 are only partial hookups. Lake is close and convenient. It's a nice area that will take you back. We were nestled in the trees and the whole area smells like pine trees access campfires.

Where else can you get the best Bacon Bloody Mary'...

Where else can you get the best Bacon Bloody Mary's in the middle of the woods of Southern Oregon? Expect great camping, plenty of ammenities, and good service. A warm mountain lake in the foothills of Mount McLoughlin provides all of the summertime activites you love including camping, hiking, running, and water skiing. Although the RV loops are mostly basic sites, local restrooms are sufficient.

There are two showers in the Aspen campground if you're looking to freshen up but don't expect a lot. A little more than $1 buys you 8 minutes of hot water to wash up.

There are several miles of trails from the resort to explore, and if you're brave enough, summitting Mt McLoughlin is only a few miles drive away to the trailhead.

The food is great and the bar tenders are even better. Bands play on the weekends and dusk brings on movie night on Fridays. Check the website for up to date schedules.

If you're pulling a trailer, there are several sites that can accomidate any size. Check the website for reservations. There is a dump station available, but expect to pay $10. Generators are permitted but there are certain hours to run them, so check the boards on the ways in.

Always a childhood favorite. After years of not going up there. I went up there again with my Fiance (Future Husband and our dear Personal Service Workers and mine and my Fiance's two little Chihuahua dogs. It is even better than the last time I was up there as a young woman in her early 20's. Now I am 40 years old. And I got to enjoy it as an adult older than I was 20 some years ago.

Restaurant- one hour wait we were told. 4 tables available. Waited an hour outside and went back in to find out how much longer. 11 tables were open and our name had been crossed off the list. Service is a joke!!! Menu isn t even updated. Good luck with desert.

I almost don't want to write a review because this lake is so beautiful, and I'm selfish. The staff and services at the resort are great. Very helpful and gives service with a smile. Free lifejackets are available to use, plenty of trailer parking, and beautiful trees!

My mom and I decided to head up here for a day trip with the dog since everything had recently opened up and we were so glad we did! We had an amazing salad for lunch out by the lake, I took a nice leisurely walk through the campground and all the beautiful trees. Down by the lake they were several people who had caught some amazing fish!! The cabins all looked so cozy and inviting we ve decided to book one for my mom s birthday, such a beautiful resort, I would totally recommend this for anyone and their entire family.

Went up to LOTW on Sunday of memorial day weekend. It was a lovely place to just sit and chill. I'll have to return another time to swim, hike, camp, bike, etc as it looks like a great place to do those things

My boyfriend and I decided to take his kids here since we have had such great service and food here in the past.. This visit was just bad the servers were slow and they had no commutation. The alfredo was horrible it was sweetened and the fettuccine was over cooked and the asspergrass was burnt. The rib eye was ordered rare and it came out medium well on one end and burnt on the other. The burgers were also burnt when they were ordered with no pink in them. I will not recommend this place to anyone in the furture.

We love Lake of the Woods it's so beautiful we were there on many occasions. And it's so much cooler up there than in the valley and there's so much to do up there. But today's fishing did not prove to be very good which was for the sad cuz it was a free fishing day :-)

We love Lake of the Woods. It has been the favorite place for our family to go in the summer. However, I/we are becoming increasingly frustrated, disappointed and this last trip...dismayed.
First of all, we love RVing at the resort. However RV's are essentially are being squeezed out to make room for more and more cabins. We don't want to stay in a cabin, we like our rv. There are spaces to stay in, but there is a principle involved here for us. We have been going to the resort for 15 years when 33$ was the nightly fee. It has been slowly going up as all things have, but it is now 60$ a night. Not out the ballpark except there has not been one single improvement made to justify the increased fee. They did gravel some roads, but the sights are still a bit dirty and as in many of them crammed together and uneven. I feel the RV'ers are helping to fund the cabins.
This last trip, we stayed at Aspen because we had a lot of family that tent camped. There were two bathrooms for the campground. A third was not operational so they added portable toilets.
The last thing and this was the source of the total aggravation. Many of our party went home providing us a wonderful, first opportunity to go to the resort restaurant to enjoy dinner and a cocktail. I called the restaurant to make sure it would be open and we could get a table in 30 minutes. I was told that would work. About 30 minutes later, we are there to be told we would be waiting for 40 minutes! We go to the bar and order cocktails. My sister wanted a mule-out of ginger beer...no ginger beer. Ordered a Mountain Margarita only to be told, after mixing, serving, and tasting the drink...out of amaretto! Triple sec was the substitute and it didn't work well. In hindsight, should have left the drink on the bar and walked out. So, we went to the marina and ordered pizza. I have to say the pizzas are delicious! I wanted a cranberry pecan salad- out of pecans. We ordered a garden salad and we were going to split it 4 ways. We were given 3 metal forks for FOUR of us because there were no more plastic forks and they only had 3 metal forks.
So unbelievably frustrating! Not just one missing thing but four, and with the drinks, should have been told before ordering! How hard is it to stock pile booze? Or to send someone to replenish as you notice what is left won't be enough to make it through the day?
Lake of the Woods is not the quaint beautiful place it used to be. I know things to change and grow, but so many people now and be prepared for that. This last trip may be the last summer one for all of us.

Went swimming at lake of the woods for a day trip. Always a good place to go for a swim. The water is always clean and not too cold. The negative only thing is it is almost always windy so it is best to go during the hottest part of the day or it can be a bit chilly when you get out of the water. The bathrooms are really nice as well and there are plenty of places to set up your stuff (blankets, towels, chairs, etc.) right by the water.

This is one of the local favorites and has been our family favorite for over fifty years. The resort has been well maintained and provides great clean beaches, nice seating areas, outdoor dining excellent food and on weekends there is live outdoor concerts and even outdoor movies. It's very idyllic but can also be very busy!

Lake of the Woods is a great place to camp, play in the lake, and experience the "old school camping summer vacation"... but with great amenities. One of my favorite places to camp is at Sunset Campground which I frequent often.
