The Lake House at Lake of the Woods Review

Beautiful location great for all sorts of activities year round. Swimming, wakeboarding, tubing, and boats for the warm seasons and skiing, snowboarding, and sledding in the winter. There is a market with souvenirs and snacks and there is also a cafe with food. There is even a resort event center that hosts events regularly. My only complaint was the portable toilets. They were full to the brim and hadn't been cleaned in a while. Luckily, there is a normal bathroom that is cleaned regularly. Also wish there was a foot washing station. Things tend to get muddy after swimming and people go straight to the bathroom to wash their feet in the sinks and get mud everywhere.

The resort was well maintained on a beautiful lake. There were several camp, RV and cabin sites. The lake had chairs and picnic tables available for our group.

We had one of the best meals EVER last night. Shrimp cocktail with actual prawns and fabulous sauce, soup to die for, and prime rib to bring you to your knees, and yummy dessert...I would have given it 5 stars but for the following...It turned out to be at the marina, rather than the lodge where we thought it was going to be, so there was nowhere to sit while we waited for our table. We got there early and were late seated so we were standing about an hour. It took a long time between courses, once seated. (we got there about 6 and didn't finish until 9:30.) Now remember, it was Valentine's Day, and an event like that does take longer. Oh yes, and if you go there in the winter dress warm. All that said, the food was worth it.

Nice place to launch a boat. Dinner at the lodge is a bit expensive, but the buffet breakfast on the weekends is great.

Beautiful, great amenities, reasonably priced, family friendly, lots to do...a smidge crowded even mid week. Would be perfect for a big group if that's what you like.

Our experience was very disappointing on account we made reservations last week for a patio boat rental of 4 hours from 7 to 11 am . We showed up at 6:30 am this morning and we didn't want to be late. No one showed up until 8am. The service was very unfriendly, he did not want to give back our deposit money until we said we would go higher up.we are very bummed that they did not care enough to call and let us know the time had changed...Not very good business! I might try again next year!

Get a cabin if you can and soak up the rustic Southern Oregon turn of the 19th century outdoors vibe - great spot for basecamp.if you're climbing nearby Mt McLaughlin too.

Beautiful setting, great atmosphere, good food, and excellent customer service!

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The boat launch at the resort was really noisy and could use another boat ramp. We had a great day on lake.

Local's opinion: Beautiful setting. Spring fed lake at nearly 5000 feet elevation keeps the water crisp, cool and pristine all summer. Good for boating, kayaking, swimming, in summer, and ice fishing in winter - huge snowmobile destination too. Easy access reasonably priced. Good restaurant open spring to fall. Full marina open year-round. Rustic. Clean. Fun...thanks for visiting, now go home!

Lake of the Woods is a great place near Klamath Falls to hang out on a sunny day. The lake literally goes right up to the woods. Great spot for fishing and kids

We've been to this resort many times, and normally the service is excellent. However, this time it was sub par. At the beginning of the meal, we asked for small plates and silverware for our appetizer and they never came. Next, we ordered a salad with chicken but they didn't have chicken, which was okay, so we said it was fine and the person would just eat it without the chicken, but after everyone had finished their meal and we had paid the bill, then they brought it out. Also, the staff was apathetic towards our problem and didn't seem to care.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. I went there during a snow storm and the lake had frozen over. It was such a sight to behold. At just a handful of miles south of Crater Lake, it's totally worth a visit!

Place looks cool..I just stopped for gas that was 5.50 a gallon..better than pushing the truck.

Terrible restaurant. Restaurant was only half full, but it was very slow and disorganized. Our server was decent, but most of the other servers seemed flustered and not interested in the guests. Took 65 minutes to get our meal of hamburgers and sandwiches and 15 minutes just to get initially seated. Our server kept apologising and actually said it was even slower the day before. No manager was in sight the entire 1.75 hours we were there. Worse restaurant experience ever.

I love this place, it's so beautiful and I love the chairs they leave there. The water is so cold but oddly warm afterwards.

Manager john at the marina rented our boat right out from under us to a family friend of the owner boss George. The service was horendous at the marina be ware of shady practices and a complete lack of customer care. The marina is disorganized and unhelpful shame on you john for not advocating for your customer and shame on you George for your lack of respect for your customers.

This is one our favorite places to go to get away from the city and relaxe with clean air and awesome scenery.

The care and management up here is totally five star. The restaurant has been redone and eating on the deck is a joy. Smells of campfire and smores in the near-distance, good waitpeoples, and scrumptious food are awaiting those who find the place, and clean bathrooms is always a sign of perfection. Drive safely up hear...

We went up for the morning, the chicken fried steak is fantastic, they have a tri tip omelet the is excellent also. The view was amazing. This will be one of our favorite places.

Beautiful Oregon best Atmosphere &Music in the outdoors July &August 2016#US

Went for the fireworks July 3, 2016. Had an amazing time. Definitely would go again. We love it there and go several times a year.

Beautiful resort. The dining area is wonderful but the food has slipped this last year. I hope that next year will be back up to its exemplary level.

What a treasure, we stayed in a brand new cabin. It was so nice, clean and near the lake. Stayed two nights. The staff was great too. Will be back.

Sunset Campground - wonderful hosts, nice campground. We like just a little more rustic surroundings with not as many neighbors. But the atmosphere was great... No loud night parties or excessive noise.

The fishing is good. I've not camped there since I was a child. The views are outstanding. There is a parking fee of $6 per vehicle per day. Or, you can purchase an annual parking pass for $40. It includes parking at Sunset, Aspen and Four Mile Lake Day Use areas.

What a treasure, Summer or Winter! Camp (tents, cabins...), canoe, hike, swim, dine in the Lodge or outside w/lake viewing, live music, general store for necessary items. & pretty much the same in Winter minus the activities that can't be done on a frozen lake! Plowed road in so that's no problem. After a walk along the lake, enjoy a hot meal, coffee, or a treat in the lodge (thoughtful friendly staff) w/fire crackling in its stone place, views of sparkling ice outside~ can't be beat!

This place is huge and plenty of fun things to do for EVERYONE!!

We went for the day to hang out and play in the water. They have an awesome little beach with is perfect for the kids to swim.

The Woman who Runs the Marina Grill is unspeakably Rude! I went to order a couple of Milkshakes and was very polite she very rudely kept saying OH WOW because i wanted to order milkshakes. She acted like it was a completely taboo request, like she was going to have to go so far out of her way to make them.(their on the menu) I had to go grab my wallet and again she rudely starts saying OH WOW at this point i just shook it off kept being polite trying to be the better person. I grab my wallet and she must have rung it up prior to me paying as cash because i pulled my card out to pay and she threw her pen and a receipt down that she had in her hand and gave me a rude snarl!!! unbelievable so i told her i would rather not order because of the way she was treating me and she stuck her hand in my face and thats where i will no longer be spending my money in the grill area.... Love the Resort and Restaurant been going there 27 years now never had an issue like this very sad....
