The best fish (Red's Best), meats (Chestnut Farm) and produce (Siena Farm) in the area. It is also great place to get lunch or dinner due to the many vendors there. Comparable, if not better, than any of the top farmers markets I have visited in Europe.

It has thus weird thing going for it where I am happy this exists but I usually never actually buy anything there. It is a bit expensive.

I have tried Boston smoked fish co's salmon and it's great tho. The cider donuts are great too, but pretty heavy (obviously)

While the nearby Quincy Market is for tourists, this is a gourmet market for discerning locals because it pushes forward with the concept of organic and local production for local consumption.
I think Taza Chocolate is the best souvenir for Japan.
We also recommend seafood from local fish shop Red's Best.
In particular, the lobster roll is a gem where you can enjoy the lobster that is unique to Boston.
There is also an eat-in space, so it's a good place to visit during lunch.

5 stars because it has a lot of eateries in one condense place. It's basically a hipster food court. By the time I got there there were only a few places that were open.

I tried a couple of them, Taza and the Apple Cider place, and it was delicious!! Have to come back here during the day where it's mostly popping. There are many cuisines and goodies to choose from.

When you visit I do recommend coming with a group and divide and conquering this market. Try a little bit of everything because there are dozens of options. Table space can be limited though.

The place spotlights high-quality, local, artisanal food vendors, and fair trade oriented merchants. It's not a place to pick up clam chowder, or a variety of low quality lunch options; Fanueil Market is the place for that.

The Market is awesome. It deserves 5 stars because it has a ton of variety and the people who work there are so friendly.

But, I couldn't give it 5 stars because of the guy who was loitering near the bathrooms. He appeared to have likely just shot up heroin and just lent a funky vibe to the place because he was sitting there rocking back and forth, talking to himself, and frequently scratching his hands and arms.

Aside from that, its a great place

I love this market! The prices are incredible! For example, they sell a container of strawberries for $1! And the produce is usually fresh, but start to look wilted as the day progresses. This is an awesome place to go if you need fruits and vegetables.
