This is a true performing arts center. Several theaters. Free live performances every evening at 6pm. A gift shop. A cafe, a bar and restaurant to complete your experience!
My Husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with tickets to see "Hamilton" and it was outstanding! We love the Kennedy Center and have seen Ledisi there as well. EXCELLENT, we loved Ledisi's performance too. We stay abreast with the calendar and visit when we can. It's such a great venue!
The Kennedy Center is a beautiful public arts and theater space on the Potomac River with sweeping views of Georgetown and parts of Northern Virginia from its terraces.
If you're going for a concert or show, get there a little early to enjoy the building itself.
Great concert, easy parking and access on a Sunday afternoon.
Impressive, the right place for any performance of arts.
View was very good! Loved the flags in the main hallway
Wwonderful event at the nation's cultural center
Open views of the city and Virginia. Pleasant, helpful a . staff
Amazing place! The staff can be alittle abrasive. But in all, very good.
Be prepared to go to a performance that is so well done you will be breathless.
Best place in the whole wide world!! Recently, Bill Murray and Jan Vogler & Friends - New World. Never disappointed. Free concerts. Beautifully landscaped, sculpture gardens, friendly knowledgeable staff, great restaurants, views up and down the Potomac river, 4 season venue!!! Enjoy it.
Great time watching Ethen Foote. As part of its effort to make the performing arts available to everyone, the Kennedy center offers a free performance every day on the mlennium stage in the grand foyer. These performs of music, theater, and dance feature emerging and established artists from the Washington area, across the nation and around the world.
The best theater space with the greatest shows one can find. It's beautiful.
The free concerts are a great way to entertain yourself
Get a free tour to see all of the performance venues, the at donated by many countries, and be reminded that people/countries care - SO much of it was donated by other countries! PLUS free concerts every night at 1800 on Millennium Stage!
The theatre was nicely designed and the seats were reasonable. Views from the balcony upstairs are worth the trip; note that you can just show up and explore, no need to actually go to a show. Impressive selection and variety of shows. Avoid the restaurant - unimpressive experience and overpriced food that may have passed for decent thirty years ago.
The concert hall has poor sound quality. In a middle back box, irritating echoes of sharp sounds (spoken voices, percussions, etc.) bounce out of the back corners. That, and the ceilings over those seats creates a slight muffle. Very disappointing.
From NYC Broadway to a hip-hop show JFK Center does it all.
Iconic. So many things going on at the same time here, including many things that are free such as early evening concerts on the Millennium So in the lobby.
We had an exceptional time at the symphony! The venue is really nice, the orchestra was on fire the guest was really terrific. Getting in and it if this place via Uber was extremely easy!
Shear madness is the funniest live play you will ever see. It is very interactive with the audience and the details are changed for each group. I would definitely go there again.
Bucket list item complete. Beautiful space. Amazing performance. Incredible friends.
The conductor Steven Reineke was charismatic and talented. I will make sure to see him perform again soon.
Beautiful musical orchestra the place is a little dated and you can smell it but the remarkably Hugh ceilings and the decor in the lobby is nice.
I played here! The stage we played on was super cool. Our tour of the place was very nice, and the halls are very clean and well-maintained. Not to mention, very attractive as well. Even the halls with all the flags looks really sleek.
I love this place. The staff is helpful and plenty and the shows are lovely... The programming as a whole is incredible. We need more Kennedy Centers.
We love visiting the Kennedy Center! Whether it's to see a play or a concert or even a movie with the national symphony orchestra playing the score. You can get discounted tickets if you sign up for their mailing list Yahoo group. Very organized inside!
Very beautiful and well maintained place, but the decor is old.
Food was not cooked all the way don't eat there food too high and was bad but liked the building
Seasoon ticket holders. We recently saw Far From Away. We were 20 minutes late to the show and later found the VP Pence was in attendance so every car had to be searched so every show was running late. This probably isn't the first time this had occurred so they really should have figured out a more efficient way to do this. The show was amazing.
Perched on 17 acres along the potomac, the magnificent kennedy centre host a staggering array of performance more than 2000 each year among it's multiple venues-including concert hall, opera house and Eisenhower theatre.the millennium stage puts on free performance at 6pm daily.
Lovely venue. Some rebound of sound when NSO performing
Phenomenal lantern experience. Appreciate the rich diversity and cultural exchange highlighted in DC at the Kennedy Center and it was free.
Beautiful performance held here, the events held here are great...even the day when it's free..
Beautiful theater - only been in the Opera House side. Only issue is getting in and out - traffic around is terrible, although there is a lot of parking on site.
So incredible to have a place like this that does a free performance literally every single night of the year. The night I went was a drum performance and it was worth the $100 you would have paid for tickets at any other venue. Love the Kennedy Center!
Parking is expensive. Plays and performances are always terrific.
High art venue, but could use a makeover when it comes to customer service. PDF of ticket wasn't usable at the theater door so had to wait in box office line, along with many other patrons, in order for a human to physically print a ticket. That said, not to be missed performance space, especially with the benefit of remembering the beloved JFK.
Fantastic location for seeing performances. No need to overdress. Drinks and snacks are pricey.
Have been there many times. This time the show in the concert hall was fantastic. Now I did learn that there are two box offices serving different venues.
Wonderful performance, horrible lines at the ladies restrooms.
Great place to attend events. My only complaint is that I was charged for my 11 month old as an adult without a seat(seating in mommies lap).
I am a big fan of the free Millenium Stage everyday at 6pm with my 3-year-old son.
The Kennedy Center needs a sweeping change of management. It's truly as if they are trying to make it unpleasant to visit. They sell tickets... they KNOW how many people are going to be there. They are understaffed, and the staff that is there is could not care less. The "KC Cafe" - which basically provides food on the level of 7-11 - was packed wall to wall. You couldn't tell who was on line for what. Are all the registers open? Of course not. Our party of four didn't even get to eat at the same time. The service bars are ridiculously inefficient. The 'order ahead' sheet? Unlike every other venue in the area, you still have to wait on line to drop it off. The 'no selfies before or after the show' rule is draconian; there's no reason for this. We arrived 1.5 hours before showtime, and between grabbing a crappy lunch and waiting on line for the bathroom, we got to our seats minutes before curtain. (No time to wait on line and drop our intermission order.) Oh! And as if Hamilton tix weren't expensive enough - today was a blackout date for prepaid/discounted parking. Hamilton was amazing. The venue was awful. I will do my best to patronize better theaters in the future.
Incredible and beautiful venue! Very knowledgeable bookstore attendant!
We had a tour at this Kennedy Memorial Performing Arts. It was amazing with all of the architecture - nice and fancy.
Noodles at salad bar not edible/cooked enough. Manager tasted and was not concerned.
My wife enjoyed the mariinsky ballet from St Petersburg on Sunday. Performance of Le corsaire. The story is originally based on a poem that was written in the 1850s. Relatively simple story about love lost and love gained. Certainly not one of the most drama-filled ballets that I've ever seen but just the same was a fantastic display of dance from the mariinsky! And of course just to be at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC is always such a treat. I have been going there for more than 40 years and is always a very enjoyable place to see the Arts and entertainment of all different kinds. Highly recommend it ! I believe they also still have free concerts every Friday late afternoon /evening if you have time to take advantage of it
Staff was great. If you are over 5'10 you are going to be very cramped in the seats. And honestly my tall friends had all warned me about the seats before we bought the tickets. But I was just excited when we got the tickets I thought I would manage until I actually got there. Then I realized it was going to be very uncomfortable. The staff was helpful in finding me another seat.
My husband and I saw our first musical--Hamilton--and it blew us away! We also enjoyed the yummy food and drinks prior to the show. The staff was also very helpful in pointing us in the right direction.
If you're under 30, be sure to take advantage of the Kennedy Center's MyTix program. I've been able to see so many great shows thanks to MyTix. Every production I've seen has been amazing so far.
One of the best places in Washington DC to catch a show. Roster of performances is always changing and rotating. Always something for someone to see and experience, should be on everyone's bucket list.
We took our seven year old daughter to her first Broadway show (on tour). We all enjoyed Aladdin! What a fun musical.
Amazing performance arts spot that have a well design yet advance accessibility. Not only for the visitors the museum access program also provide the disable performers. Please check the website or the booklets to find more info about your needs.
Wonderful! Shows are diverse, well produced, and affordable considering the quality and venue.
It might not be as exciting as the mall or museums, but it is worth a visit.
Temptations "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" was an absolute top notch performance
