Cool place. My experience with the this place for nearly the last 20 years is as a performer. This place has ALWAYS had great people on staff. They are very knowledgeable, helpful and passionate about what they do. This place hosts many of the greats, from the local to the world renowned! I encourage anyone visiting DC for a few days to make the Kennedy Center a part of their personal itinerary.

Iconic. Beautiful. Surreal. A DC treasure. We are all #blessed to be in the presence of this venue. Millennium Stage offers free shows at 6PM every weekday and is an amazing way to catch the greatness of what the national arts scene has to offer.

What's on my mind. Red carpets on the floors, high ceilings, plenty of marble, a small symphonic concert hall from our CSO, an average audience of over fifty. Still, it was a good night.

The performance spaces are great, and the halls are spectacular. The terrace has great views of the Potomac River.
They offer frequent free performances at the Millennium Stage, and they have periodic events for young children, in addition to modern dance, orchestra, plays, ballet, and other performances.
The venue is oddly isolated. It's accessible from Metro Rail by way of a free shutttle bus, but this adds time. Parking is more than $20.
More challenging is that there aren't a lot of convenient places to eat. They have a sit down restaurant that can be hard to get into. There's also the onsite KC Cafe, a casual place that offers about what you'd get at a Whole Foods market (sandwiches, salads, a few hot items, wine and beer) but for exorbitant prices. Expect to pay $12 for packed sushi.

Here's a good tip. You can pre order your intermission drinks from the bar before the show starts. Just ask the bartender. Your drinks will be waiting for you. This works for beer, wine, and if you don't mind a few melted cubes of ice in your cocktail.

We had a fantastic time at the NSO/Ben Folds Declassified series. Great atmosphere before and after paid with outstanding music inside the Concert Hall. Parking was easy, just get there ahead of time and park in the garage.
