Friendly service, amazing soup and coffee. Met up with friends before and after our run and the owner is so nice and helpful. Great atmosphere and location. Lots of parking. Can't wait to get more soup.

First impression of this place is very positive. The customer service, atmosphere and menu items are excellent (from what I ve tried so far).

Dan was very warm and welcoming from the get go. He provided me with a sample of his savoury soup, and some friendly conversation.

I will definitely be returning and would recommend The Java Garden to my friends.

Thanks Dan!

Came here to listen to a friend perform music. The soup (red pepper) is incredibly tasty. It has to be my favourite soup of all time. Coffee is good as well. I will definitely be returning.

This is a go to lunch place for me and many of my colleagues. Dan, the owner is friendly and accommodating. The food is well made, super tasty and right sized for lunchtime occasions. Of standout for sure is the roasted red pepper soup...Don't leave this place without trying a sample.

The owner is super awesome! Order a soup and sandwich and you'll never have to eat again!! They are super tastey. You can take some soup home too in a jar! The tea and coffee selection is great!

Do you like amazing food? Do you like a comfortable, casual atmosphere that feels like you're home? THIS is the place to be!

From the moment you walk through the door and meet Dan the owner til you leave you will enjoy every second. His red pepper soup is incredible to say the least and paired with the roast pork, Apple butter and brie panini and you will wonder why you hadn't been there sooner.

He is friendly, attentive, extremely accommodating and funny. Watching him whip up a fresh batch of to kill your diet banana muffins shows his love for what he does.

This is an excellent place. The owner is so friendly, lovely to talk to and such a nice guy all round. It s ashame he can t use cones for his ice cream because big corporations like Dairy Queen bully the small businesses like this and threaten to take them to court. Small businesses have better quality foods. The soup is like the best I ve ever had. The ice cream is real quality ice cream. Stop going to Dairy Queen.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful..., thanks. They have vegetarian options, I really appreciated that. They keep mugs cold in the drink cooler for a hot day, something that I do at home in the freezer! Their Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato soup is everything others say it is, great! Their Mozzarella Spinach Panini was very tasty, I just wish it was a little larger. Yes, my wife and I will be back.

Unbelievable little gem. Top notch food with some really authentic home recipes. The owner couldn't be kinder or more hospitable. Now my one of my favorite places for a quick breakfast, coffee, or tasty treat!

This Cafe is nothing short of amazing! The greeting you get from Dan, the owner to the fantastic fare he serves! I have many favorites: Breakfast wrap with sirracch sauce, Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Soup, Roasted Pork with Apple Butter and Brie Panini, and then the desserts! There hasn't been anything I haven't liked but the one I drool over is Dan's Lemon Bars. I've even called ahead to make sure he has them. This by far is my favorite Cafe in Kitchener/Waterloo!

Today my husband and I visited Java Garden for the first time based on a friend s recommendation. We were greeted right away (by we assumed the owner). He was very friendly and when we told him it was our first visit he immediately gave us a ramekin of their famous Tomato and Red Pepper Soup to try. It was delicious!! We ordered two soup and panini (chicken, tomato and brie) combos. Great flavour and the size of the combo was perfect for lunch. We were also happy to see several vegetarian options for our daughter. Great food, wonderfully welcoming and lots of food options - we will definitely be back.

I just loved coming here after each exam. The place was so relaxing, they had great dishes even if they were a bit expensive. If I were to recommend my favorite dish, it would be the Mac and cheese. Thick cheese spread over penne. Music is calm and staff are quite friendly.

As previous customers have stated, it is a great experience from the moment you step in the door. Dan greets everyone warmly, and is very helpful in helping 'newbies' figure out what to order. The Tomato/Red Pepper soup is 'to die for!' Great spot to grab a quick bite, or just sit on one of the couches and relax. The Friday night entertainment adds a nice touch to an already great place.

Very nice little cafe which features a good number of coffees, drinks, alcoholic beverages, meals and desserts. Pricing is about what you'd expect but the gentleman working there at our visit was very friendly and made the experience that much better. We tried their tomato & red pepper bisque soup which was very good. They sell it in large Mason jars if you want some to take home. Very good spot and plenty of parking. Hope to go again.

What a wonderful way to spend a morning. I was looking for a nice place to sit down and have a nice drink. When I was there I was greeted by very nice people at the cashier and I ordered a cinnabun with milk. It was definiley the best cinnabun I have ever, and paired nicely with my milk, I would definitley recommend this place to others.

One of the best coffee shops in Waterloo. While there is a slight premium to the cost of coffee (aprox $2 - $2.50) over barebone Coffeeshops, the atmosphere more than makes up for it. There is a plethora of seating, couches, live music nights, game nights, and so much more. They have one of the best selections of treats I've seen in any cafe; from cheesecake to cookies - it's there. Additionally, they offer a menu of delicious food. The grilled cheese and pepper soup are some of my favourites.

The Java Garden is the best place to get a coffee or a snack and lounge about or work in surrounding SJAM
