We have rented for 6months in one house which was the length of that lease. We since have had a baby so were looking for something cheaper. Shelley from the company was very helpful and answered my many emails and questions. Since emailing we plan on entering a new lease with the company in a different property of theirs. Any problems or issues we ve had which have been only 2 were handled very professionally and quickly. Everyone is very friendly and eager to help. I love this company and will continue to rent from them until we buy our first home. When the time comes we plan on trying to buy through them first since we have had such a great experience. So happy we found them!! Best rental company we have been with!

They honestly do not even deserve one star. I know people that have rented from this company and it is one problem after another. They paid a security deposit and a cleaning fee. Yet, after their lease was up, they had to replace carpet and pay to have everything deep cleaned. The cause of the carpet replacement? A leaking sealing and leaky pipes, not even their fault. And on top of that they were told they had to leave sooner than their lease was up?! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
I waited until I received my final statement before writing a review and I must say, I'm overall very pleased with this organization. I lived at one of their houses for 6 years. They handle work orders quickly and efficiently, they respond to emails, and they don't nickel and dime you on your final statement if you do what is asked of you. Not much more you could ask for in a property management company. Thanks Jacques Co!
We rented a house in Springfield, Mo from The Jacques Company. I cant emphasis how much I appreciate this company, especially Michael Jacques. (to be fair, I have only dealt with Michael one on one). Michael is always quick to respond to emails or calls regarding any questions or requests. He is very professional. If we had decided to stay in Springfield, and not move out of town, we would have stayed with The Jacques Company. I would definitely refer them to anyone looking for a good rental experience with a trustworthy company!
I have rented from this company the last year and its been nothing short of wonderful. The staff at Jacques Company is amazing and I look forward to renting from them for many years. Thank you guys, my family and I have loved every minute. If you have something negative to say about The Jacques Company, that was obviously on you.
Jan Jacques helped us sell our house. We closed today! She was thorough and responsive through the process. She was courteous and professional to work with. She went to bat for us with the buyer when she needed to. We would definitely work with her again!
We have been with the company for 7 years. They are great to work with regarding maintenance issues. they also were willing to work with us when my husband became unemployed twice and we needed to pay partial rent then catch up when he became employed once more. I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a high quality rental!!!!
The Jacques Company was so wonderful to work with. They helped us sell our home in order to buy land to build. They made it easy and did all the paperwork to where all we had to do was sign on the line. Even thought it was listed high, they got us top dollar out of the sell of our house. Would highly recommend them!
Just talk to them. A level of incompetence unlike any other. Your investment properties will not be safe with them. Mine weren't, I was given proof of this today. thanks guys I'm looking at $10,000 plus in repairs due to terrible management. Don't even try to get smart with me like you did your other reviewers and say you never dealt with me!
The epitome of professionalism!!!...They do what they say and say what they do!!! I've always heard fantastic things from people that do business with The Jacques Company and my experience was no different. I decided to use them to manage an investment rental home, but I told them that I had a friend that was going through a hardship and I had extended an offer to allow his family live there temporarily. The Jacques Company understood and noted him as an exclusion to the agreement. After all the work, energy, and jumping through hoops The Jacques Company did to list & manage my property, my friend decided to take me up on my offer...To my relief, The Jacques Company understood and immediately released me from the agreement!!!! This is a great company with honest people...Look no further!!!
I have looked at the reviews and just thought I would add my two cents. Jan Jacques has purchased three different homes for us, and two are properties that are managed by the Jacques Company. This team is awesome, timely in reports (always get monthly report on 1st business day of the month) and have promptly answered any questions that we have had. I have worked with them in three different roles; renter, house owner, and buyer. Each case it was a 5 star experience. I would not hesitate to work with them. If you're going to break lease and get an attorney, spare your time with a review - companies don't deserve one stars from people who break contracts.
They discriminate and do not have equal housing opportunities. I went and looked at a house that had a no pet policy and it was really nice, the guy that showed me the house was very nice and professional. I told him about my Tharapy dog and how he was going to actually be my service dog but ended up being to friendly to do his job properly. But he did go though training and had passed the CGC test, the CGCA test, and the CGCU test, l have his certificates from the AKC to back up all these titles. They are not one of those fraudulent things you can buy online, go look at the AKC website. Not to mention he also knows 2 specially trained tasks to help me. This one doesn't really matter but he also has a TKN title to his name as well and l have a letter from my psychologist saying l need him in the home to help with my disabilitys then it lists what they are. Anyways l looked at their pet policy on their website before seeing the place. But when l was talking to him, he said l should call the office person and ask about the pet policy (weird but okay), l can't remember her name but her extension was "3" after you call their number. So l called and asked her what the pet policy was, fully knowing she was going to say "we have to accept him because he's a therapy dog even if it says no pets but we'll need proof" something like that because it's the law. So l politely asked her what the pet policy was and she must of been having a bad day because off the bat she had a hateful tone and said no pets at that house, l was like okay thank you, l have a therapy dog so it's no big deal, man did that just grind her gears for no reason because she raised her voice a bit and said no pets allowed at that place, l was like okay, that's cool he's a therapy dog not a pet. And she said no pets includes therapy dogs. I was like ummmmm... but that's illegal, by law any rental places has to accept Therapy dogs even if it says no pets. She said no they don't, having a therapy dog means you don't have to pay the pet fee on rentals that allow pets. l said so what if someone had a service dog, would they be denied to rent this house because of their service dog? She said no pets include service dogs, if it says no pets then that means NO pets. I was like nahhh that's super illegal and she said no it's not, the property owner for this rental doesn't want pets and doesn't have to allow them, l was like bye and ended the call. Mind you, her tone this whole time just kept getting more and more hateful. This legit is in direct violation of The Federal Fair Housing Act and Missouri Human Rights Act. You can look it up on MO.gov l honestly might file a complaint against them discriminating against people with disabilities that need ESA and service dogs because they honestly need to know and learn what the law is. This is no way to run a business.
The Jacques Company handled the lease of our home for six years while we worked out of the country. Last year I decided to sell the home. I felt the sale was handled improperly and that the property was not taken care of during the time of the lease. The last month's rent, security deposit, and downpayment on the home was lost and the renter has not yet been "found" although she lives in the same city. Jacques and Company did a walk through and didn't see water damage, major carpet damage, roof, yard, appliances, etc. The list goes on. Numerous calls resulting in being told all was well. I finally had to make a change and am now having to pay more than $15,000 just to get the house back into shape so it can be sold. I felt my investment was not guarded nor my concerns taken seriously. If you use this company, my suggestion is to check your property on a regular basis.
Quick response to email but when I showed up the agent acted like I was wasting his time. When I pointed out the issues with both locations I was shown, I got no response. Might be a good company but not a good first impression.
Rented from them for just over 2 years. When we moved in the carpets were dirty and the place had to be painted. We took care of everything and asked them for nothing. All we received was a garage opener and had been in the house for 3 days before they gave us the keys. (had to change the locks when we moved in since we had no keys.) Never heard from them in the whole time we were there. Any repairs or maintenance we took care of. Figured we were the perfect tenants. In fact I paid them half a month ahead each month. When a bigger and nicer home became available we sent the Jacques Company a 30 day notice. (after conferring with our Attorney) They told us that they were not letting us out of the lease. We told them that were moving and that we had given proper notice. We cleaned the house from top to bottom. We had the carpets done and everything. (we left it looking better then we got it) When we were totally out we kept calling to get with them to do a walk through. They kept putting us off. We sent letters requesting the walk through. Still nothing. They did finally call and ask for the keys and told us if we gave them the keys they would get with us for a walk through. So we complied and still no contact for almost six months. Now the house has been re-rented. Very curious how it takes them till the day they said our lease was up to rent it. To add insult to injury now that it is rented we got a bill in the mail for over $5000 dollars. What a crooked and wrong way to do business. We used to recommend them to friends and family but now that I have seen first hand how they work I will never recommend them. I will only warn people!!
