Absolutely the worst scheduling staff ever. I sat on hold for over 15 minutes and then had to contend with unerring disrespect and intrusive insurance questions (are you married or is the insurance policy in your husband's name) from an extremely disrespectful person. She made it quite clear that she would not help me, despite my unease with giving out personal information over the phone. If you allow your office/scheduling staff to be this discourteous and disinterested in handling personal medical information, I can only imagine what an office visit would be like. Unbelievable in today's environment of information security. I will find another provider that is more cautious with my time and my information.

Inrecommend the MedStarNRH Rehabilitation Network @ the Irving Street location because of my experience with them. . They definitely will fix whatever physical health issue that you have. The therapists are all trained well and knows what they sre doing. You do not have to worry about parking while you are getting therapy. The therapist have execellent team work

I appreciate the treatment I received on Tuesday August 7th from my therapist please look to see who she was because I would love to have her for my appointments whenever possible. That day was my Mother s birthday who passed away in 2014, I was not feeling my best she didn t know the reason but she I didn t feel like being there but I pushed my way to go.
She put me on the heating pad then messaged my legs with the message machine then by hand I really appreciated that it relaxed my mind and my legs felt great when I left, my bus was arriving as I got outside I was able to slow run to catch it I haven t been able to do that in a long time. Thanks

I love the way the tech that I had takes her time her teen takes her time with me they work with disabled persons without no one happiness like they're glad to see me there so they all deserve a 5-star they take their time with disabled people

The cancer rehabilitation team at MedStar NRH is top notch. I have been seeing them for 5+ years and they provide successful and leading edge solutions for any issues that I have encountered, and strongly recommend, and endorse their services.

The two therapist that I ve been working with are very knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions regarding the therapy and treatment for this condition of transverse myelitis. Although the neuro doctor doesn t sound optimistic about my prognosis I am trusting God for 100% recovery. The therapist are supportive and understand what my goals are to regain my mobility. I appreciate them challenging me and giving me support throughout this process.

I am taking my mom to this hospital for PT. The service is so splendid from the entrance all the way to the therapists. I recommend it to anyone interested in PT.

I just got evaluated to get started on an outpatient program of PT and the therapists were very knowledgeable and thorough. I would recommend them to ANYONE. I feel that I have a lot to learn from them and I look forward to it.

It is a very pleasant atmosphere. The therapists are very polite and very patient with you.

This is my second time at NRH for disability situations. They seem to be a very caring Rehab Center. They work you hard but great, and you could tell they do it with great care.

Very poor parking!

They're business model is essentially a racket. I have a herniated disc and went to their Chevy Chase office for treatment. Stopped seeing them after they refused to submit a mock claim so I could see how much I would be charged for each visit. Turns out they wanted to charge my insurance company about $300 per each session. The adjusted amount I was charged is about $200 a visit. This is for 10 minutes of walking on a treadmill (by myself), 30 minutes of supervised exercises and 10 minutes of electric stimulation therapy. Almost all of this therapy could be done at home for free. What's worse is, I suspect their therapists see very little of this money.

The therapist was great - helpful. Compassionate, caring and highly knowledgeable and experienced.

Recovering from a shattered hip socket and traumatized shoulder, I have been receiving occupational, physical and pool therapy. In all cases the therapists have been superb. They are knowledgeable, supportive, encouraging and relentless in helping the patient help himself. Totally satisfied customer.

I can t say enough how grateful I am for the physical therapists I ve had! Nick, JB, and Jaunesha have been absolutely amazing. Their upbeat and keep it attitude makes me push harder every session. You have a staff that goes above and beyond to get you back healthy and in shape. Thank you very much!!

My mom was there for about a week in November. Nurses were professional and friendly all through her stay, the therapists (OT & PT) were awesome. The hospital was very clean to a fault. Even the parking garage was very clean as well. I will recommend NRH in a heartbeat. Thanks for all you do.

My experience at Medstar National Rehabilitation Hospital is excellent! Everyone at the hospital is so pleasant and cheerful from the time I enter the lobby for temperature check, the security guards for directions and vehicle validation and the check-in desk but most of all Ms. Djenne, my therapist is awesome. She is very Knowledgeable, patient, supportive and always has a smile just a true professional and people person.

My experience has been absolutely outstanding, a blessing. From the warm greetings when you arrive, to the very personable staff, and the efficiency of care I receive, (and this is all the way across the board) I recommend this facility to anyone and everyone!

The team of physical therapists that I am working with at NRH@MWHC is a dynamic duo. I was not sure how they would be able to help me recover from breast cancer treatment: chemo, surgery and radiation, but they have provided me with an exercise routine that, when followed gives me the relief from pain I need and increases my range of motion. They have also assessed my movement in doing these exercises and critiqued my posture to ensure I put in the right amount of effort to get the maximum results. Lisa is Kind and Considerate willing to do what is needed to make you feel comfortable as she helps you deal with your therapy and she has a great since of humor which some in her field does not have. I enjoy working with her she helps me feel welcomed and relaxed during my therapy.

My physical therapy experiences have been simply wonderful. Heather does a marvelous job with designating exercises and activities that assist me with my MS. She is caring and amazing. Heather takes the time to laugh and joke with me.

Just recently had an evaluation done due to on going medical problems from a car crash in March of this year. After checking in, I met with my therapist. She was professional, caring and interested in what my concerns were about my health. What impressed me the most was her asking me if I had goals and what my expectations were for recovery and her wanting to achieve, if possible, those goals. I look forward to the upcoming weeks of working together to improve.

Amazing rehabilitation specialists were inspired, warm and friendly. My one-month stay was pleasant and helpful, and I was a little upset to leave so many spirited people behind.

I just started my outpatient physical therapy but worked with Djenne when I was an in patient at NRH. She is great! Patient, encouraging, gives positive feedback, and correction when needed. The staff are very pleasant to work with as well. A very positive experience.

She listens well and gave me a detailed explanation about the center that made me feel comfortable.
I am very happy to have such highly calibrated physical therapist and I hope I will get better soon by following her instructions and lessons.

Medstar NRH has top notch OT (Sonia), PT (Lauren), Speech (Katie) therapists. If your loved one ever needs acute inpatient rehab this is the place to go. The positive attitude of the therapists and case manager put us at ease from the beginning. These are people who are passionate about their work! One small thing that would go a long way: Please add a dedicated person during shifts to help patients who need extra assistance stay connected to the hospital wi-fi via their ipads and iphones while visitors are not allowed.

This was my first experience with physical therapy. Ms.Vanessa and Ms. Regina made my experience very comforting, they both showed genuine care and empathy. They took the time to create a plan that would benefit me without causing alot of pain. They have made my level of anxiety dissipate with their caring and pleasant attitudes

I have been to this hospital before and was pleased with the service. However I am writing this review to express my gratitude to the support staff on the phone. Especially to a women named Lena how answered all my questions today so nicely and courteously. She also gave me her direct line in-case I had any further questions about the rehabilitation center. So kind and greatly appreciated!!!

NRH has been extreme life saver, I ve been there for a little over a month and the therapist here are TREMENDOUS definitely God sent....they push u to exceed NO PAIN NO GAIN LITERALLY.....I would recommend NRH to anyone that want to become independent, stronger, motivated etc.....come prepared to WORK HARD! If u want someone to feel sorry for u or baby you this isn t the best fit for you I m just keeping it

Mr. Chukwuma I Okeke from MedStar NRH Rehabilitation network, DC lacked basic analytical skills a PT would be educated for. He provides solution without understanding what was the actual cause of it. He also had several patients lined up and didnot give enough time at all. Chukwuma I Okeke gave some silly unrelated exercise which didnot help my pain even a bit. Even after repeated feedback about his lack of treatment, he never made an effort to understand why the shoulder pain originated. When i requested him the 3rd time to reconsider his treatment plan he just told the receptionist at the hosppital to discharge me saying that he doesn't know what to do.

I have a bill now of $650 and that's unfair when he didnot even make an effort to help solve the problem. I had also compained about him to his Director and she said that this feedack was helpful and will be considered but still i have a full bill.

In one of the feedback privided, Mr. Chukwuma I Okeke told on phone about a change in treatment but at the hospital during session he changed it without giving any explanation on what is the nature of the issue. He is really an ineficient and lacks professionalism that I don't expect at Medstar.

I consulted Dr Dorothy Dalton at Shady grove and just with 2 simple exercise she was able to fix the problem which Mr. Chukwuma I Okeke from MedStar didn't even attempt to understand.

Mr. Chukwuma I Okeke from MedStar is really a WASTER OF TIME AND MONEY and not a Physical Therapist I would recommed anyone.

Fantastic therapy! Real attention to my needs and a Positive Force!

Courtney and Bonnie and Erica and Carlin and Ben and Bryce and the nurses and technicians are the reason why I can now make dinner for my family in my own two feet!

Currently, I work with Courtney and Bonnie. I work hard. I drip with sweat and it is my favorite time of the week. I am encouraged, challenged, cared for, taught and prepared for a more fulfilling life, despite my amputation. NRH is very well represented by the people that handle their patients. I would not be as far along if I was somewhere else.

First time I have ever had to be an inpatient in a Rehab setting and I must give special kudos to Patricia Koonce, Haja Jalloh and Sujeeta Poudel- the best Nursing Care Team ever/Brain Injury Unit. During my stay, they provided exemplary kindness, understanding and professionalism. They went out of their way to accommodate the needs of all their patients; addressing both physical aliments and emotional needs as well. They took the time to get to know me as a person, listening and keeping my hopes high and positive...they made my journey much easier and showed genuine concerned about my well-being. They made my stay easier to cope and if it were not for them, I am sure I would have left before discharge. The facility is lucky to have them onboard!

I am currently a patient at NRH & I must say that my experience here is mediocre at best. Unfortunately, I am here due to no fault of my own. I am a paraplegic due to a spinal injury during surgery @ the Main Hospital which by the way the young ladies here provided excellent patient care, I was transferred here to NRH across from it. From the beginning the service was fine, but as soon as I began to explain to the Techs how I needed and wanted to be cared for, the attitudes and care began to get worse for example, when I called for assistance because I had a BM, I waited almost an hour so my HUSBAND cleaned me!! On tech came to work sick and had a very negative attitude the whole time she had to clean me up. The list goes on and on. I am already trying my best to deal with this sudden life changing tragedy but to be treated this way too? I'm hurt, angry and very disappointed. If you can help it DO NOT COME HERE , DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO NATIONAL REHABILITATION HOSPITAL/DC. I am not saying there are a few nurses and techs who knew and applied professional and good care but there was more poor patient care than good.I'm sorry I was ever sent here.

I received the best care when I was in there. They taught me everything I needed to know to do things on my own.

Kyra and Staff is very friendly and helpful. I really like the hands on experience along with all the good mornings, it makes you feel comfortable and not distant. Regina and Craig on the water side is very thoughtful to your needs and speaks to you the whole time and continues to make sure you are doing ok even when it is two people in there at one time. My German husband was treated here for rehabilitation. He was recovering from a brain aneurism, requiring physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy June 2018.The therapists, nurse's, Drs, technicians who were my husband's sitters 24 hours a day, or basically every shift, he had a sitter, that's 3 sitters, a day. Technicians whose sole purpose were to keep my Bae from jumping off his bed and to encourage eating were great that treated him. The social worker did nothing to assist with a home health aide even though he required paid technician each shift at time he was to be discharged. Alesha N. Rhodes, LGSW and she's Care Coordinator for Brain Injury who refused to do her duty as a social worker and arrange this for us. Knowing I was a breast cancer survivor of right mastectomy done February 20, 2017. Stefan took care of me and when the my Bae had burst aneurysm. She threatened to send my hubby to a nursing home if I could not arrange for move from third floor to lower level preferably first floor by time he was released. I still have her name and email where she tells and sends me copy of request from I believe admin of NRH or at least on hospital stationery.

I have been experiencing multiple back problems for years (shoulder, mid-back and lower back) seeking for medical help for a long time until I came to Medstar where i met Maya D Drummond and her Team.

I have been to the center for one week now and I am already seeing results. After listening to my story, they evaluated my problem carefully and taylored exercisers that pinpointed the problems. Apart from knowing what they do porfessionally, they listened to my story with care and understood my problem better than anybody. They then picked the right exercise that would address the problem. They are so attentive that even when you think they are away, you notice through the mirror that they are still watching yours movements and see how you progress.

I had only three visits sofar and have already noticed improvement in my movement and believe that i will be completely relieved from my long pain after the completion of the ten sessions.

Based in my short experience, i dont hesitate to recommend Maya D Drummond and her Team to anyone suffering from back problems, whether it is shoulder, mid- or lower back.

My daughter checked in on Saturday, staff is very friendly however the hygienic conditions of her room are deplorable. I opened up the guest bed and chicken crumbs and hardened ketchup were at head of bed. I opened closet and dead housefly fell out. I went to nutrition area to heat food in microwave and it looked as if it was never cleaned. I decided to clean the area personally. Finally it was time to shower my daughter...not only was plastic pillow seat still sitting on shower chair from previous occupant, it was also still wet. The shower walls had makeup on it, yes the walls. The floor had mold, red and black hair caked on floor mat and food underneath shower mat. I will request release tomorrow morning because of this is the condition of what I can see, God forbid what lurks in other places.

My experience at the National Rehabilitation Hospital has been thoroughly excellent. Every therapist I ve worked with has been exceptional. Their expertise, empathy for my situation, communication with me, their consistently positive attitudes, their dependability - all these attributes are beyond anything I have seen anywhere in any endeavor. They represent the best in us all. Whatever NRH does in its hiring practices should be replicated in all walks of life. They are that good! I truly feel my recuperation would never have gone as well as it has if not for them. I trust them to the degree I do my best to do whatever they ask and have always benefitted from whatever they had in store. I love NRH, can you tell? I believe myself so very lucky to have had this experience. I wish the same for you too, especially if the help you need comes even close to what I needed. Thank you NRH!
