Lovely location and food was above expectations. Service a little slow at times but overall a nice place for lunch
I went when it opened and thought it revolutionary. Now the food is good but lacks experimentation. Sadly the service let it down.
Perfect end to long weekend of 50th birthday celebrations. Amazing food And service
Overdone and overwrought, full of excess and pretentiousness, yet the food is respectable and the decor is fancy. Not sure is it is worth the hype it gets, but it can be a good dining experienc for those wiling to brave the crowds and mayhem to get a table.
Had a decent ribeye steak, the menu is very good. Good selection of wines and cocktails. Great desserts. Nice atmosphere. Only complaint would be that the toilets are located downstairs and are quite tight.
As you walk in The Ivy you almost feel like you have gone back in time. The Ivy has been running for over 100 years and they have done a good job keeping looking almost the same as day one.
Food is nice and you get what you pay for.
Overall I would go back but not for a few years.
My wife loves this place. Tasty food and wonderful atmosphere.
After many trips in Toscanini country we visit see sight for entire day . You must rent two sun beds for round 20 for two, you can relax with separate beach , close to free toilet in that complex, there is food as well and of course water :D ... you can teach little ones how to swim because water is very shallow for very long time :)
Spot number one when in London!! But a bit too loud
Nice greeting and atmosphere.
Friendly, courteous staff.
Tasty food.
If you love the feeling of being somewhere nostalgic with a high standard of service what you pay for, you will receive. The menu has good old fashioned classics and fusion food. The staff makes you feel completely as ease, a wonderful dining experience.
We like it because the food is excellent and they treat you in away that there is no nervousness about the experience
The setting is pretty nice and the food is very good since it is a mix of everything, and fre champagne or wine when entering
Great ambiance, really friendly staff, polite. Food was delicious and a great choice of menu. Loved the whole experience, can't wait to go back. Taking my mum there as a birthday treat. Reasonably priced
Really delicious chocolate dessert is a must. Not a waste of money. By all means ~
Smart casual - lovely place
If you want to have a true english experience this is the address to be
My husband treated me to lunch at The Ivy for my 40th. We took our 2 young daughters with us. The staff were very accommodating and the food was amazing. The chef signed a menu for me to take away with me and when dessert arrived he had written a birthday greeting in chocolate on my plate. The whole experience was worth the trip into London and I wouldn't hesitate to go back again.
They don't serve you cocktails or in my case more than.1 bottle of dom at 198 a bottle might i add Unless you are eating with them. An absolute disgrace. Actually kicked us out.
Beautiful location for a quiet lunch, good was fantastic and served quickly by attentive staff, all in all I can't recommend the Ivy highly enough! Well worth booking in advance, and do try the lamb.
Excellent food. Great atmosphere. First time I have eaten upstairs, which I possibly preferred as a little quieter.
Loved it here. The food was great. The atmosphere was fantastic too.
Had an amazing night pretending to be a part of London s elite. After night at theatre we were hoping to keep up the charade and snag a meal accompanied by heavy cutlery and dainty stemware. We walked into the Ivy and were keen to just blend in at the bar for drinks and some good food. So glad we stopped here, it was everything. The staff were so lovely, attentive, and engaging, so rare in London! And the meal was divine. Massive compliments to the chef(s) and also need them to add those Parmesan fried courgettes as a main on the menu... please take this request seriously.
Thanks guys! Can t wait to spend too much money here on dinner again sometime.
What can I say but what an amazing place. I'm writing this review to let everyone know that if you want a lovely meal, beautiful venue, and the main thing excellent service then The Ivy is the place to go.
I went there this weekend, I had made the booking back in September. On arrival the staff who greeted us couldn't find our booking. My heart sank! The restaurant was full and the staff had just turned away a group of 3 who hadn't made a reservation. I was asked when I had made the booking and whom I had confirmed it with the day before. The Director Fernando Peire went out of his way to try and help. It turned out I had made a reservation in error at The Ivy in Chelsea !!!
Mr.Peire asked us if we could come back 45 minutes later and if there was no table available straight away we could have a drink in the club room while we waited.
On our return Mr.Peire welcomed us back and gave us a table straight away.
Excellent service. Thank you very much.
Will definately go back and next time will make my reservation by phone !!!
Would have been 5x if they had served the pinot noire at the right temperature
sure it's become something of a cliche but the always excellent food and the unmatched service are what makes the ivy such an institution. sure it's not right at the edge of cool as it used to be but it's still, deservedly, packing them in.
Top rate food in a very classy joint that is only surpassed by its excellent multi-cultural cuisine on offer. Attentive staff, quaint environment and an automatic go-to for dinner anytime I find myself in the Primrose Hill part of town.
Goat's cheese and truffle oil, spinach with pine nuts; I could go on...
Fantastic everytime from start to finish.
A pleasant dining experience, the food was good and service was great.
Took mum here for her birthday. Had a lovely night and also not as bank breaking as I thought
mediocre food in decent surroundings with good service. i really have no idea why it is so hyped up. is it the celebs? who cares.
It's an expensive place but you know that going in. The decor has not change (I imagine) but it adds to the atmosphere of the place. The service was what you would expect of a place as this. Everything went smoothly and I we it felt everything was done quickly without feeling rushed. They even knew who had what dishes. Focus was definitely on ensuring everyone had a great experience. The shepherd's pie was amazing and while this probably isn't the typical dish you would expect of the price point it doesn't not disappoint. The baked alaska for 2 was also very tasty as well as a mini show.
Amazing place very expensive their staff very helpful and nice
Food was excellent but service was poor. Wrong wine brought out first then wrong main brought out had to wait even longer for the food to get the correct meal.
The food is tasty, the place wonderful, the staff very nice and attentive. The raspberry baba kills it, it's just SO good. Can't wait to go back.
In a nutshell, this is pub food done really well. Wrapped in a fab Art Deco bubble, the hustle and bustle of the place creates a electric atmosphere, but you still feel relaxed. Don t feel the need to overdress. The staff will be helpful, but don t expect 5star service, it s too busy for that. Don t take that to mean the service is bad, it s not. Don t forget to book. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy this gem of a place.
Nice restaurant, good service, lousy food,
Pricy
Delicious food, excellent service and relaxed ambience - I will definitely be back!
Took the girlfriend, really nice food, bit pricey so 4 stars.
Great food, fantastic service, we were so looked after, a well earned reputation far exceeded my expectations. I thought due to my expectations I would be let down somehow, however, perfection! I just fell in love with this restaurant, the team were perfection and thank you to all at the Ivy who made such a memorable evening totally fabulous. After 100 years they still have "IT" again thank's to those who looked after our table you were all fantastic xxxxx Quite magical! x
After 10 years, I went back to Ivy & I had a very good time. Still the same service & still the same very good quality food.
The atmosphere is nice, the food very good. The poulet roti stuffed with foie gras, was excelent & worth the 45mn, the chocolate pudding, delicious. I certainly want to go back.
We felt happy going out from Ivy & I will allways recomend it.
It's really worth to experience it, Bravo to Ivy team!
Went in this morning for breakfast with my Family, We ordered 3 Latte s and a water along with our food. It took 20 minutes to bring us our coffee s and when they did the were barley warm, I told a waiter who to be fair couldn t apologise enough and said he would get us three new ones right away. So we waited and waited and another 20 minutes had gone by and they had still not been replaced even though They had continued to serve everyone else. I decided to cancel my order and leave due to poor service and when I told the Waiter/Manager that we were leaving and were not happy he replied sarcastically that s your choice no apology for the cold Coffee or for the time it took.. 45 Minutes of our weekend in London wasted thanks to there poor service
Amazing food beautifully and professionally served. Very friendly and pleasant atmosphere and comfortable seats
Great service and good food. Shepard's pie was amazing. Great place to go before a show.
I would want to warn future guests of this place during this pandemic. Very poor safety measures compared to other places. The restaurant was totally packed ( also it's a place without any windows, so there was no any fresh air), waiters and waitresses weren't even wearing masks or had any sanitizers in hand. The staff was rude as well. I would expect more from such a brand. Totally disappointed.
Pleasant surroundings. Food sooooo over priced. Average standard. Staff nice. Seating cramped. Not returning.
Amazing restaurant, with great food and such a nice atmosphere! Great cocktails too, and amazing service!
great food but the restaurant was so noisy we couldn't speak easily to our dining companions. also the tabels were very close together and the smoking at the next table ruined our evening somewhat
Lovely welcome, warm atmosphere and the food delicious melt in the mouth. Thankyou made our trip to London special.
On the 27th July went for a meal, the service from Nelson was the best service I have ever received in any restaurant!
The steak was par excellence.
I look forward to returning soon.
Highly recommended if you are looking for first class food and service.
PS. Ask for Nelson to serve you when making a booking.
Staff friendly, food good, however as our table was after an evening show they had run out of many starters.
I dined at the Ivy Club. The food was excellent overall.
.
For my starter, I had a Raw & Pickled Market Vegetables with Carrot Hummus & Smashed Grains. The taste was different, but a good different. Every time I had a bite, it was terrific. You will like it
.
For my dinner, I had a Crackling Roast Pork Belly With Creamed Black Pudding and glazed apples&sage. Very delicious. The pork, cooked to perfection. It melted between your teeth, just because it was so soft. The crackling cracked and was very good. I thought the combination of the creamed black pudding and the glazed apples&sages, was an excellent idea. It formed the perfect combination
.
As a side dish, I had a Honey Roasted Parsnips and a Mixed Tomato Salad with Basil Tabouleh. Been a parsnips lover, I was curious about how its taste will be like. It was delicious. I did like it and would love to try it. The mixed tomatoes were also fantastic.
Would highly recommend.
A wonderful experience and environment. When I leave I can't wait to return.
Food was amazing especially the knickerbocker glory, staff were really friendly and helpful.
We came here for my wife's birthday surprise dinner. I now have enough brownie points to last the whole year (and its only March!).
Amazing food, amazing decor, amazing staff and amazing cocktails.
Restaurant as it should be for meat connoisseurs.
Unconditionally grilled beef .. excellent service, high prices, after all you get what you pay for.
To visit this restaurant you should definitely make a reservation in order to enjoy a dinner. It is a good idea to try to call at least three. Four days earlier, because many times there is no availability for a table.
Personally, I choose meat as the main dish and specifically in ivy I tried a very good rib-eye cooked well enough so that it does not come to me completely raw (for Greek wavelengths).
The serving of food was as if it came out of a book (manual) of how the waiter should move, how to serve, how to collect and how to bring the waiter to the place.
The choice of dessert for the end was just as good but I want the dessert sweet and not to leave me with a feeling of not filling.
For his money it is quite good .....
Very Posh and Fancy place to eat, staff are extremely polite and helpful, burger was very nice although it was a tad bit on the cold side.
A perfect upmarket place for vegetarians. Staff are exceptional just like the food &drinks.
The ivy is a British institution I couldn't recommend it more. The art deco interior is marvelous. I got talking with one the barmen and a friend and I finished the rest of the limited edition whiskies on the menu. The food is styled on British boarding school food. But don't let it fool you, the quality is excellent. The staff were helpful and attentive.
Fantastic food. Atmosphere was a tad noisy. Would return again. If you get the chance to go then go, you won't 've disappointed
if i told you how to get a reservation they would kill me.
Quite a posh dinner after the theatre. It was very high-end and welcoming. The Cornish fish soup was divine and creamy. The salted beef was not what I expected but was quite enjoyable. The crown jewel however was that knickerbocker glory More
Nice atmosphere, staff a bit intense and rushing. Food is OK typical London venue
Exceptional service and delicious food. Great for a celebratory meal too
Amazing food, cocktails and atmosphere with excellent staff. Quite pricey though!
