I have visited The Home Medical Shop on several occasions and have found the staff to be very helpful and courteous. I was pleased with the assistance I received when selecting a knee support. I also appreciated the patient assistance I received when choosing sandals. The addition of sandals that accommodate orthotics is a much appreciated addition to the merchandise available at The Home Medical Shop.

They will refund under NO circumstances. Even when product had not been opened. They say it is customer's responsibility to ask, not theirs to divulge. Would not let me speak to store owner, or pass on my contact info. Told me at one point "we don't care what our customers think" also told me " refund check was in the mail" because I was so insistent, but it wasn't, and they denied saying this. Buyer beware here!!

As a nurse who worked surgical floor mostly, I am shocked at the low rating. For years I sent patients to this store for supplies. When a friend was hurt out of country, I set up her house with rental items from here, for her return. Now I had my own medical issues and they walked me through what I might want/need. I have never had anything but the best experiences with this store and it s employees.

My father in-law was in need of medical items. I purchased them and the same day he was admitted to hospital. I never opened the package and tried to take the items back And was told I could not. I was never told when I purchased the items that they were not returnable. The man was very rude about it .

This store will not do returns, exchanges, refunds of any kind no matter what so beware before shopping here. It is very poor business practice for a business where you are often shopping for someone else who needs medical supplies and is unable to come in due to injury or illness and shop for themselves.

My wife bought a brace for her wrist here. They spent less than 5 minutes with her and she tried on one brace and bought the one she tried on. When we got home we noticed they charged her an orthopedic fitting fee. They want to sell you something but charge you for trying it on. What a joke!! When I called to ask about it they said that is their policy. I guess we will buy the second one somewhere else.

Denis is the most disgusting, dishonest merchant and company I have ever found. He and his staff will yell, swear and berate you if you have the audacity to accept help/aid from the local Red Cross for medical items. I do understand that businesses need to make a profit, but at over 500% and their mandatory service charges and exorbitant 'delivery and setup fees' makes anyone want to puke.
DO NOT GO THERE!

I obtained a second hand chair that was originally purchased from Home Medical Shop, and I needed some parts. I simply cannot remember receiving more prompt and courteous customer service anywhere, anytime - all during the Covid 19 restrictions no less. They mentioned that they had been in business for over 30 years - I can clearly see why. Thank you!

I received two of the same item for Christmas and tried to return one, only a couple of weeks after it was purchased, never been opened, with a receipt, and they refused! They said they never accept returns. I was shocked that a business can operate with that degree of poor customer service.

Looking at my receipt I saw an $8.50 charge for fitting a basic wrist brace which took 4 minutes, and I could have done myself. Beware! They have a mandatory floating service charge that they are not up front about. The owner said they have signs in the store stating the service charge and he wasn't conciliatory in the least that I never saw them.Bottom line: Store policy comes first, not the customer

A product purchased from this firm was found to be unacceptable. They said they "mail receipts" and none was received. Staff members said they have a "no refunds or exchange" policy. This firm has multiple complaints against it (D- rating with the BBB). We will NEVER purchase from them again and encourage any potential customers to Google "complaints" against them prior to doing business with this vendor.

Because I can't give less than 1 star they get 1. Only go there if you want to be aggressively pushed into a purchase (exact same item from same manufacturer was $60 at London Drugs and $100 there) and don't mind being bombarded with how great they are, how they know it ALL and if you have differing thoughts or experiences from theirs you're an idiot. How they've been in business for 30 years is beyond me.

I have been in this store twice in the last 6 months. Once with my mother-in-law when I felt they talked over her instead of asking her what she needed, we left and didn't purchase anything. Today I went in there with my mum, the lady who talked to us claimed to be the owner. We asked about a mobility scooter and without asking any questions she said " i would not let your mom use that scooter , it is too big for her" - after a few minutes of talking to her she decided the scooter we first asked about was the one we should get, and, that the "other store" didn't know anything about these products but she has been in the business for over 32 years so she was in the know. Twice now i have been shocked at the way they have treated a potential customer - that is a 100% bad experience for me, I would not recommend this store and I am sure that my mom will make her purchase elsewhere.

My mother-in-law had a fitting for compression stockings at this shop. Cost for the fitting was very expensive as were the compression stockings that were then ordered - this was to be expected, as they were ordered specifically for her. A year later, she called the shop to order a new pair and was told she would be contacted when they came in. When they called I went to pick them up for her. Due to Covid, there was a rope across the entrance (understandable) and I was "greeted" by a very rude gentleman who I assume was the owner. I told him I was there to pick up a prescription pair of compression stockings - without acknowledging this, he hollered at the lady (also the owner) across the store and then turned around without saying anything else to me. Okay, whatever, I thought, I try not to get upset with rude people. After five minutes the lady came over and handed me a bag without much comment. My mother-in-law had already paid over the phone so I took the bag and left. When I opened the bag after I got home I discovered a pair of compression stockings that had come straight off the shelf - the exact same pair could be found at any drug store and for half the price! So they charged double (and it was double) the price for a product that they claim they had special ordered from a custom fitting! How may other seniors are being duped this way??

They had to order glove as they had none of the right size and we would have put a deposit on it. Later received a call stating the company didn't make a glove that size and oh by the way we will not refund your deposit you have a store credit and three months to use it. What a rip off they did nothing but phone a supplier and still would not refund my money. We will never shop there again and advise anybody else not to.

I purchased a product through my husband's business Visa yesterday. The staff were very helpful and courteous. However when I returned home and showed my husband the item it was not what he wanted. The product was still sealed and in the same condition as it was when it was purchased. It was not a sale item. I phoned the store to inquire about returning the item and was told that nothing can be returned to the store for refund. That policy should be brought to the attention of the customer at the time of purchase. I will be contacting Visa to see what can be done with respect to a refund and return of the item.

WOW..I have never experienced such rudeness from a business in all my life, but I sure did today. Not only was I talked "down" to and "over", everytime I wanted to ask just a basic question, I was treated like an imbecil and he wanted "only" to talk to my contractor, even though my questions were simple and I am the one paying the bill in the end. This guy treats women like "morons". I am definately taking my business elsewhere.

I don't mind paying a bit more for a product if I get knowledgeable sales advice on comparable products (also available in the store so you can maka a timely choice. I'm not saying the products are priced higher; just that I am willing to pay a bit more for knowledge and exerience.

I hate charging all over town to do comparisons.

And, I did not experience ANY of the sales pressure others have been complaining about. If you want quality orthoticc shoes etc here's the place.

Personally I believe if you are going to sell a product and charge a "fitting" fee, you should know how the product works and where it is placed on the body. The employee that helped me didn't seem confident in either. They also did not mention there are no returns or exchanges. I will admit that, after closer inspection of the product's box it says it on there BUT if you are making someone fill out forms, try on belts, hovering over them and talking constantly do you really expect them to see that? I would encourage you to use caution when going there and would say they are lucky that they are one of the only businesses that has specialty items otherwise I'd say don't go there.
