My mother-in-law had a fitting for compression stockings at this shop. Cost for the fitting was very expensive as were the compression stockings that were then ordered - this was to be expected, as they were ordered specifically for her. A year later, she called the shop to order a new pair and was told she would be contacted when they came in. When they called I went to pick them up for her. Due to Covid, there was a rope across the entrance (understandable) and I was "greeted" by a very rude gentleman who I assume was the owner. I told him I was there to pick up a prescription pair of compression stockings - without acknowledging this, he hollered at the lady (also the owner) across the store and then turned around without saying anything else to me. Okay, whatever, I thought, I try not to get upset with rude people. After five minutes the lady came over and handed me a bag without much comment. My mother-in-law had already paid over the phone so I took the bag and left. When I opened the bag after I got home I discovered a pair of compression stockings that had come straight off the shelf - the exact same pair could be found at any drug store and for half the price! So they charged double (and it was double) the price for a product that they claim they had special ordered from a custom fitting! How may other seniors are being duped this way??
