Lovely small site, but also with enough space. The train line at the bottom of the field is quite busy and loud especially at 5am and the toilet/shower blocks were not as clean as I expected. Those are the only negatives.
First visit. Beautiful view from the window , where we're sitting. Food was delish. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Will be coming back !

Decor a bit weird and only 1 ladies toilet but couldn't fault the customer service the standard of presentation and quality of the food. We were a large party for 3 course Christmas lunch which we all thoroughly enjoyed. No delays with serving us all for each course.
Quite pleasant but unexceptional food. Ale selection was disappointing. Nice staff and atmosphere. Recovering from a power cut so they did well considering.

Absolutely disdusting meal this evening steak tough and cold , chicken wasn t cooked not a patch on previous owners of blacksmiths , shuttle and loom do better steaks . Won t be going back

Another visit to one of our favourites this time for a Special Birthday and with a party of 8. The food excellent as always, the staff brilliant and a wonderful unhurried atmosphere in which to relax and enjoy.

Food was okay, service seemed extremely slow, had to wait 10 minutes at counter to pay as staff were gossiping in the kitchen.
Caravan park very basic so this reflects on the price, it is very cheap. The pub attached is very good food and staff are excellent. I would give the pub/restaurant 5 stars and the caravan park 2 stars
Basic site with good potential. Plenty of water taps on site near enough for all pitches to reach with ease. Toilets were clean, water was hot enough to wash and plenty of toilet paper available, only down side was the missing locks on some of the doors. Some good walks around the area with a dog friendly pub too. We will visit again.
fabulous food and a lovely atmosphere. Isobel the chef provided us with really tasty food and Ben, the waiter/barman was the friendliest bloke you could meet. would highly recommend this place. the campsite at the back was also very good. we will be returning for sure.

Second time here. Unfortunately customers had left the camp site facilities in a filthy state and had parked their motorhomes without a fire break. Not good
This is where we always bring friends for a quality meal. The food has always been wonderful, the staff friendly and the atmosphere welcoming.
Highly recommended we stayed on the camping site behind the pub the food was excellent and Ben and the team are doing an amazing job in these difficult times would definately stay again
15/7/18 Went for Sunday lunch around 1:30 afternoon. 1 roast pork, 1 roast beef, 2 very happy people. Plenty to eat, cooked very well and not over priced. We sat outside as weather permitted but loads of room inside. Young barman (sorry didnt catch your name) very attentive as was Ben the waiter.
Wouldnt hesitate to go back and definately will. Cheers.

Now the Hammer & Pincers. Dropped by unannounced, it was a busy nice with various birthday celebrations but the food & the service was still excellent. My Seabass was beautiful, the flavour was not spoilt by unwanted sauces

Group Christmas dinner, party of 12. Excellent service very organised and attentive staff. They managed several large parties effortlessly. No delays in each course arriving all served without delay. The food was excellent We couldn't have faulted anything about it and to achieve that for 12 people is remarkable. We had never been before and the first impression was not overwhelmingly promising. It looks a bit dated but would definitely go back.
First time here, the place looks great, the service was great, the food was great, the cost was great And the music choice was great not too loud a little bit of soft variety. Only one thing I noticed some of the staff seemed to have little panic moments in their voices when speaking to one another, no need to panic this was one of the best meals I have had in the last 12months. I will most definitely be back and already recommended the place to friends within an hour of leaving.
Friendly welcome, great food and drink, great service. Lots of regulars eating there, so it's obviously consistently good.

Great pint, very welcoming with a great beer garden
We went to the Tuesday steak night.the meal was steak homemade chips mushroom tomatoe peas and a pint of lager all for 10.00 pound and very tasty it was. The staff friendly and the dessert of crushed meringue strawberries ice cream dairy cream and strawberry sauce just finished the meal off.
Great atmosphere, staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is fantastic.good value.
Sunday lunch was lovely, and the young gentleman serving us was amazing most definitely wasted doing this job, he was born to entertain x
