Very nice place friendly staff they look after you well and food is lovely would recommend it

The food is amazing. The Staff are great. Well worth a visit

We ordered steak pie and chips of the specials board.the chips where fine but the pie was a cheap shop bought pie that had a mince type filling rather than steak

We both eat here and stayed in the camping... Both were fab!

The camp site is really good, there's a mix of hardstandings for caravans, some with water and drainage others with electric and some with neither, all the pitches seemed to be pretty level though. There's also a big grassy field for tents, with a couple of hookups.
Facilities are basic but good, 3 showers and about 7 loos, which was plenty even when it was busy on the August bank holiday.
It's a chilled site but not necessarily peaceful.. it's on the main trainline and not far from a main road; there was a wedding on and a big group of campers which both had loud music - we really liked the atmosphere though and had no problems getting the kids to sleep. Expect if you ask when booking they'll know if there's anything on.
Aside from that there was lots of free space for the children to play, which is what you want from a site like this really!

Pub was also very nice, it was busy the first day and we couldn't get a table to eat so book ahead. Did have a drink from the wide selection and the children played on the pirate ship in the garden. We managed to have dinner another night, was really nice and the place was clearly still very popular on a Tuesday night... Really great service and lovely food.

We ended up extending our stay as it was such a good place to chill out and the weather was lovely. Only down side was we booked for electrics but there wasn't any available when we turned up.

Expect they have big future plans for the site so make the most of things while it's a bargain!

Just be for our tea was beautiful steak home made chips and the pudding was excellent. Strawberry with cream and ice cream in orange liquor beautiful xx

Very friendly staff but not 'pushy'. The food was beautiful and very reasonably priced and there was a great atmosphere.
My partner and I had Sunday lunch. I had pork and he had chicken. The meat was tender and tasty and came with mash, roasties, homemade Yorkshire pudding, mixed veg and gravy. All beautifully cooked and tasted delicious.
We'll definitely go back.

I would recommend this pub for anyone looking to have some amazing food and great service. I will definaly be visiting this pub again very soon.

The sea bass on prawn stir fry was absolutely delicious. And the homemade rice pudding was equally so - nearly as good ad my granny made! As usual the service was excellent. A first choice destination for excellent food at a very reasonable price.

Party of 8 Tuesday evening meal was excellent but the service was very very slow . Looks like they have difficulty with numbers .

Hit and miss with the meals. The gammon was rubbery and tough but the chicken was beautiful, when they got my order right.

Very friendly place staff were lovely, I had the shepherds pie lots of filling lovely fluffy potato on top and lots of cheese and it was piping hot, my partner had the mini mixed grill he said was very enjoyable, we didn't try the sweet as we were in a hurry but next time I will definitely be having a pudding, forget to say we hadn't booked and they said that the main dining room area was full but took us to another room and asked if it would be alright for us to eat in there, actually it was a lovely large quiet room nicely decorated,and we were more than happy to have our meal there, all in all it was a lovely evening. also plenty of parking space for your car.

I recently visited the restaurant with family for Sunday lunch. The service staff were absolutely excellent. However, the food fell short of expectation, and few of us finished the whole meal. The potato and pudding in particular seemed to have an overpowering flavour of butter, and the chicken a bit dry. The restaurant although lovely inside, lacked an atmosphere, no music playing and it was deadly silent. It's a shame, as the service was so good. A few simple tweeks could dramatically improve the experience.

Called for one night at the caravan site . The pub was fully booked but the young lad ( sorry forgot name ) , tall very jolly lad , had a word with the chef and they fitted us in at 5.30 which was ideal . Food was excellent . Thank you

Very good experience this lunchtime with a very helpful young man who explained the seating for Jazz tomorrow. I am bringing my disabled 92 year old to listen to Jazz and needed to know that we could be accommodated easily. All arranged with table and soup blitzed as he has to have smooth food. Great attention. Look forward to returning tomorrow and a good lunch for myself.

Fantastic venue for weddings, we held our anniversary do in the tipi's and loved the relaxed atmosphere and the food was fantastic.

Update: we have been continually coming back mid week and weekends for roasts. This is the only restaurant locally I have been to which was been consistent with the level of service and food.

This is a great venue out of the way has a mix of country and gastro pub. The Sunday roast has never disappointed the choice of meat is not always the same which is good in my opinion adding variety. There is a nice selection of other options on the menu for people not wanting the roast. This is a good shout for a Sunday roast and a nice pint or two

The food was sublime, great service and lovely, accommodating staff. Only gripe would be that it gets very warm and my children struggled a little with the heat. Overall however, definitely worth a visit

Was here for Christmas Day Lunch 2018. The meal was delicious I would have given it 10 stars but could only give It 5 because that's all they were.

Didn't actually eat in the pub. We were at a wedding venue that was absolutely amazing.

We visit fairly regularly for lunch and the food is consistantly great. A good regular menu plus interesting special board. Well worth a visit.

Had the steak and Guinness pie it was amazing. Great home cooked food. All reasonably priced. Would definitely return.
