I had my 60th birthday suprise on Sunday 13th October - my son and daughter hired the River Room - the afternoon was absolutely fantastic - the waitress and staff were first class and were very attentive - even with my 92 year old Mother they were extremely patient and caring - the food was first class and beautiful - there was nothing that could have been any better - fantastic chef and service

Thank you so much - the room, the service and venue was simply perfect

Great location, good beers on tap, easy walking distance from Canary Wharf. Didn't eat here but I will go back. They also offer a free lunch time pickup and drop off service from Canary Wharf.

A great hidden gem this pub. Staff were incredibly friendly when I turned up with 9 pals. Place was packed but we were asked if wanted seats and showed us to the fantastic outside undercover seating area overlooking the river. Superb. We will be back.

The evening started well. A nice gastropub tucked away down a small street. Just as I like them. Seated at a nice table with a lovely river view. Waited for 2 other guests to arrive with a drink. My guests arrived and we ordered and this is More

Had a nice steak my wife had the fish she said it was nice but could have been a bit hotter the staff were helpful but the pub itself is in need of a refurbishment which we were told is happening next month.

A hidden gem - just walking distance from the high rise towers and modernity of Canary Wharf.

The Gun is an authentic historic riverside Inn dating back at least a couple of hundred years which is located directly on the North bank of the River Thames. At the rear there is a terrace from which it is possible to sit at a table and watch the river traffic passing by and gaze across at the huge modern structure of the O2 Arena which is located in North Greenwich (to the SOuth of the river).

A fine selection of ales, wines and spirits are on offer, together with a full yet reasonably priced menu.

The rooms to the rear of the pub house an interesting collection of antique firearms - in keeping with the 'Gun' theme.

Such a great find! Tucked away on a little side street in Canary wharf (ish) area, this pub is a great mixture of casual hang out and nicer dining. The view of the Thames and the O2 is fantastic and best seen by the side garden. The choice of beers and alcohol is decent. And the staff are all friendly. Only just discovered this place over the weekend and I've already been back! Highly recommend!

A little disappointed. I don't usually write reviews but today's experience was such a bordering one that I don't want anyone else to experience it as it is.

We had the roast chicken for two. The chicken was lovely. But everything else was so bland. The gravy was like water, the cauliflower cheese was watery and there wasn't much taste of cheese to it, the potatoes were ok but not crispy, the veg was a bit oily, I had a pool of oil in the bottom of my Yorkshire pudding, the Yorkshire itself tasted of nothing, EVEN THE RED CABBAGE was surprisingly plain tasting.

Desperate times caused for desperate measures...I asked for some cranberry source but they had none, so then asked for some horseradish, which I wouldn't usually put with chicken. I was hoping it would wake my taste buds up but it tasted of a creamy bread sauce with a hint of hourseraddish (No need to brandish a warning label for its intense heat, unfortunately).

If you decide to give them a go, don't try the chicken. The team looked like they knew what they were doing so I assume the other dishes would be more interesting.

Definitely a nice place to spend an evening for a dinner with friends. The 45 day-aged hampshire Rib of Beef 1.2kg is quite delicious. The steak was rare and tender although part of it was medium cooked. The view over O2 is spectacular in the night. Good Italian wine available.

Best roast in London by a country mile! Potatoes were crispy, root veg were superb, meat was high quality, service was fast. The price is very reasonable for London. Also the beer garden looked lovely for a Sunday afternoon beer.

Beautiful little pub/ restaurant, tucked away a 10 minute walk from Blackwall station. Fantastic service and delicious food. I ordered the monk fish which was accompanied by a generous bowl of shellfish mariniere - absolutely delicious and couldn't be faulted!

The Gun prepared a vegan course for one other person and me. The food was really good.
The selection of wine is nice but a little on the pricey side. Beer is reasonably priced and a decent collection.
There are a couple of cozy rooms with fire places.
The service was pretty good too.

The pub has definitely exceeded our expectations today. The staff was very kind and accommodating, the food was delicious and very well presented. I highly recommend trying the mussels. The outside views are amazing but would suggest asking for a table with the river view.

Haven't dined here, but the bar snacks (black pudding scotch egg, 'bookmakers' steak sandwich, devilled whitebait) are wonderful accompaniments to drinks served just right. The river terrace has tables with heated canopies, but you really want to sit by the log fires. One of the best riverside pubs in London, in any weather - I've been here on rainy days and still had a lovely time. I am so glad this is my local!!

The food and our waiter was the redeeming feature.

We decided to try this place for a date night, promises of river views and cosy pub atmosphere. Booked a week in advance.

Hard to get to, as building works have cut off the usual route and you have to walk all around the docks - no mention of this on their website.

Had to talk to two members of staff until someone could tell me where to go for my reservation

There was a function on that night so very crowed

The seats were like deck chairs and had no back to them

Sat outside with heaters and blankets. Mice under the floor boards

Incense was lit next to our table and it stank - no one asked before hand if it was ok. Subjected to the smell for the rest of the meal.

The food however was perfect. Really delicious. And our waiter was super friendly and nice. It saved a night that otherwise was going pretty badly for the Gun. I might go back. Not sure. Food is worth it. Everything else is questionable.

We sat outside on the river and enjoyed the view and the food was excellent. Staff were also very friendly. Do advise to book in advance as they seem to be busy during the weekends when having food.

I've only eaten Scotch Egg there but it was great. It was my first one I've ever tried and it couldn't be better. Kind stuff that helped to choose the beer that perfectly matched, very interesting interior and detached terrace at the river Bank with the view on O2 arena.

Great Area, however they are overpriced. Portions are stingy and service although good at times, is not the best. I have seen them look reluctant to serve a group because they did not look like their usual "businessman" clientele. However it claims it is open to everyone. All in all very disappointed.

Strange to get to if you're not from Canary Wharf area - but once you arrive, it's heaven! Beautiful deck overlooking the Thames for those warm days and a lovely old-worldy historic pub feel inside. Sunday roasts were lovely and good wine selection. Staff friendly and attentive.

Food was very nice and well presented. You could tell from the menu where everything was sourced from. The staff were very friendly. Initially couldn't find parking but staff advised of a car park nearby.
