Central to Kinross, and easily reached from the M90. Definite improvement on the Travelodge at Kinross services! Shares facilities with its sister hotel, the Windlestrae, which is a short walk away. Bar and function rooms OK, but nothing special.
The food was really lovely. Small hickup but staff went above and beyond to rectify and even wet out for us to buy waffles that were not on the menu. Can't fault it at all. We'll be back.
Good value for money. Large room. Cheery receptionist Heather
Nice friendly wee hotel , good food and service. Great live music gigs, shame about drafty old windows in bedrooms.
Fantastic find after our walk around Loch Leven. The food was delicious and the service top notch. Parmesam and truffle fries recommended.
Visited my aunt and uncle who were staying at this hotel and wasn't really impressed. We ordered some tea and coffee and it took 25 minutes to come. Hours after finishing the table had not been cleared.
Ok for the money. Extremely slow serving in the bar. Hotel seems run down although has great potential if they had money to spend on necessary renovations. It could be wonderful. It's built around an open rectangular garden with a fountain and has a purpose built music venue which obviously can't be used just now.
Brilliant hotel. Lovely rooms. Great staff. Great choice for breakfast. And choices of 2 restaurants to eat in for dinner. Wide choice of food. Will definitely go back. Heather the front desk lady was lovely
Great venue for best kept secret concerts...saw Terry Reid backstage@greenhotel ... excellent atmosphere and outstanding rock bar.
A nice hotel in the middle of Kinross with a surprise small concert venue at the back with a fantastic programme of talent playing regularly. Hotel amenities are decent and staff service is good. Can get busy at breakfast resulting in slight delays. Our room was huge and very comfortable. The Backstage Bar has a huge collection of rock/blues memorabilia which shows the long pedigree of great bands who have played there.
Food in jocks bar is really good, room's are fine, plenty of hot water.
Amazing room! Was a standard double but huge more like a suite! Wow! Slight downside...hotel was cold, even the bedroom with heating on, but it was -6 outside that day!! Hotel needs a wee revamp, bit tired looking. But great value still and will def visit again.
imited menu but what was on offer was delicious. Staff so helpful, polite and friendly - excellent service.
Dinner in Jock's Bar not what I asked for. Disappointing and not for the first time.
Great hotel excellent hospitality very helpfull and curteous staff, good food
But the bed was like granite, far to hard.
It was OK for over night stay but I couldn't stay there longer. Bed was clean. Rooms are bit old fashioned but a big hotel to refit would be expensive right enough. Staff was fine and breakfast was OK. Me personally I won't be back to kinross. But don't let it put you off. Give it a try. Some hotels I've seen poor reviews but they have been OK.
Great menu and tasty food. Friendly service and clean rooms.
The room was very large with king sized bed and seating area. The wifi was not working. Everything was clean though there was a spider in my room.
Went for lunch and a quick drink. Nice place, quiet, good food, good service, and good quality.
Place is clean and tidy, staff are friendly, breakfast is nice. Nothing special, but nothing to shout about either.
The hotel grounds are lovely and well kept. Room is very hot and has no ability to control the temp (sleeping with the window wide) from the room. The bathroom although clean is dated and the shower is a just a dribble with no pressure. The mattress on the bed really needs replacing as the springs can be felt and the pillows are very thin, but the main oddity is the duvet; the width is half a meter narrower than the bed! It s a double duvet in a king size cover! Good job it s so hot and I don t need the duvet.
A nice location for the golf courses, and access to the heritage trail around loch Leven, but I wouldn't rush to book again without looking around.
Much improved! Food was ok and staff friendly and helpful. Still some way to go before I would say it was worth more than ok
Old style hotel. Quite clean indoor restaurant nothing exceptional with long waiting times. From a 4 star I would have expected much more.
I visit the Kinross area for business and have always found The Green Hotel good value for money, friendly staff and comfortable rooms with a good freshly cooked breakfast
Pleasant hotel although a bit dated and in need of some updating. Rooms are clean and large. Food was very good. Breakfast was as good as I've had anywhere. All the regular cooked breakfast, bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms, etc with a special haggis and black pudding. Well presented. Evening meal just as good. Lots of fish options over the three nights I was there - sea bass, salmon, mackerel, cod etc. Rib eye was very good. Staff are very pleasant. Slight issue with a large group when serving a selection of meals, some were finished their course before others on the table received their option. A very nice place to stay with two golf courses over the road. A great option for golfers.
Had dinner, was very good food. Staff was slow with drinks.
friendly available, large rooms very efficient fire protection system, for a boy who smoked in the room the firefighters arrived in a few minutes, half an hour in the cold in their pajamas
They assist the community when ever they can and have friendly staff.
A pleasant setting - cheerful and efficient waitress and ok and good value product.
Stayed at this hotel for almost a week during a trip with my Orchestra. The location is fairly close to the city center and is very nice to walk through. The hotel itself was very charming, and the rooms were also quite nice. Food here was also good. The water pressure in the showers and the toilets left something more to be desired, but all in all a very nice stay.
Located in a beautiful village ideally placed for a golfers weekend away. The hotel is clean with good facilities and polite and friendly staff but the interior of the hotel is in need of modernisation to meet it's full price room rate. The food is of a good quality in both the bar and more exclusive restaurant which is where they also serve a full cooked breakfast buffet with an alternative choice of continental cuisine.
Lovely looking exterior. Only had a couple drinks but service was quick.
Just returned from a 3 night stay. Staff helpful and friendly. Lovely large room, self service breakfast was really good. Food in Jocks bar was well worth it, try the beef pie and the beef burger. Do not miss the twice cooked chips. Used the pool and spa across the road at the Windlestrae. Wife raved about the spa treatment and pool, sauna was well worth a visit. We will definitely return.
Been here before but hotel looking tired and in need of upgrading. Room needs windows sorted and painted. Food not as good as before . Breakfast very poor
Bar staff were very good. Leisure centre ok again time for improvement. Jacuzzi not working. Hot water was tepid.
The hotel festive season decorating was very welcoming and homely. The rooms where a bit ootdated and needed a lot of updating in decor and facilities. The staff where very nice and helpful. I was in room 38 and the bed was very uncomfortable springs just seemed to be non exciting. Heating in room was good but needed with old style sash windows that where let in cold air and when windy you felt it. Food was nice but reminded me of the old 80s style food presentation with plates to match. Breakfast amazing cooked food was the high light of the visit staff could not do enough for you. Rooms are clean in all is worth the money but if management put money into upgrade it would be a top visit leisure pool facilities also need up graded the little thing sometime let the whole experience down.
Nice looking hotel, staff appear friendly. I didn't use facilities, only went to see a band.
Staff were all so helpful and friendly. The room was lovely and clean. Could do with a bit of an update. The restaurant, Basil, had a lovely ambiance, and the food was tasty and we'll presented. Jocks bar also had s lovely feel and the food was above standard for a pub.
A beautiful tidy hotel but at the rear is the wonderful Backstage facility where bands play several times a week. Lots of fantastic memorabilia on display and an excellent intimate friendly venue to enjoy artists at their best. Man were wonderful with Martin Ace at 72 still in great voice with an excellent band. Am going back on a regular basis
I really like the green hotel...but it is in need of renovation ..wallpaper peeling off wall ..1980s decor..cldnt sleep in bed mattress wasn't good...worn carpets ...u get the picture...food was really good so well done the kitchen ..our chicken balmoral was really lovely ...jocks bar nice tho....staff are lovely also..well organised but the hotel itself really does need fixing....c'mon owners get it sorted ..its a great wee hotel..
Nice friendly hotel. Staff helpful and polite, also dog friendly. Needs a little worktop update decor.
Without hot water in the bathroom, we could not shower.
No Hot water in the bathroom.
Large clean comfortable room, a bit dated but rest of hotel lovely. Good food, staff so friendly and helpful. Definitely be back.
Desperately needs updating Internet didn't work, ended our visit early booked somewhere else
Back Stage - live music venue. Intimate, dark and great atmosphere.
Absolutely fantastic hotel, great rooms, reception staff excellent, indeed all staff were courteous, efficient and professional. My wee buddy Baxter loved it. Breakfast fab, if they could accommodate us we wanted to stay longer, unfortunately they were fully booked. When we stayed we ate at The Muirs, so can't comment on The food in the hotel, however, menu looked good.
Always good service and during the traumas of the lockdown, the fact that you can have a good choice of beers and you also have heaters outside, it is quite pleasant, well done to management and staff
The rooms are massive and beautiful. Four poster bed lovely firm mattress. Food was nice. Heather at front desk was a Ray of sunshine. Good spread for breakfast.
Bar smelled of urine. Food not great. A lot of work to do before this becomes a decent place. Described as modem (opposite) definitely old fashioned decor
We stayed in The Green as a part of a motorcycle trip from DFDS Seaways. It has a genuine atmosphere of days long gone. Everything is clean but a bit antiquated. Staff is excellent and friendly. The motorcycle stayed in a garage, cards & routes available. Food at Jock's is brilliant!
Good food, lovely staff and very comfortable. Building is a little tired but would definitely stay again.
Typical British hotel, good swimming and fitness area in the second building across the street.
Central location with pleasant common areas & dining, rooms needing updating tho.
It's an alright place to stay good food a little pricey and friendly staff
Loved it went to see Skinny Molly. They had photos of rock stars/famous people on their wall. Awesome I will definitely be going back. The music was top notch!
Older hotel with charisma, the service was pleasant. The rooms are large and clean. We have been here twice and we will definitely come again. The surrounding area is good for walks and there is a lake nearby. If you are looking for a nice hotel, try this.
Very welcoming, and we were allowed in with our 'furboys' as it was raining. Good food but limited selection though with this covid virus it is understandable.
Jocks Bar has been refurbished since I last went there. Looks nicely updated. Steak sandwich was good but could have done with a thicker piece of steak rather than the fairly thin slice I got. Was nice though.
Really really nice staff really nice building drinks at the bar were a bit pricey but room was so cheap couldn't complain. Only niggle was the painter right outside the room both days
Dated, could do with an upgrade, carpets worn on stairs. Lovely meal, breakfast could have been warmer.
Loved it great rooms, food and enjoyed the Tribute band to Freddie Mercury amazing weekend!!
The hotel is very clean and tidy. It's a spa resort, but the actual facilities are located is its sister hotel about 100 yards along the street. The info is in the website but if you are glancing over the website you could miss it. The beauty rooms are well stocked but ar3 busy at the weekend so book ahead to avoid disappointment. The food was excellent. We presented and taste fantastic. I am sitting here now about to sleep off a food coma
Wee space entering Jocks bar was quite a nice snug spot for our group on a tour of Kinross's pubs, fairly friendly staff too. Toilets appeared immaculate, although only one of the sensors for the tap seemed to function which could prove awkward on busier occasions perhaps. The use of sensors for hygiene reasons is to be applauded nonetheless but they need to work and have wipes available as a backup option. Pretty good standard overall.
Delighted with our stay. Very large, comfortable, bed + bedroom. Good food and very pleasant staff.
Food very small portion my plate came out with only 6 chips on it seriously!! Won't ever be back just felt ripped off
Lovely quaint hotel, decor a bit dated but staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful. Wonderful stay.
Hairs covered the bathroom and every door slams which you will hear all night. The 1cm gap under the door meant I heard every conversation on the way past, and I could locate them in a 10m radius thanks to the floor boards. I won't be back
Had a great weekend here and will definitely be going back Food great staff very attentive Also has a sister hotel across the road with leisure facilities
Great food and service was great, really thoughtful staff. Also very doggy friendly. Ideal stop for lunch and we will be back!
Excellent value for money. Liked the ambiance in the bar. Easy to find and park.
