The Green Dragon Inn Review

The entire Hobbiton tour was brilliant and beautiful.

I loved the cider and hated the ale, but I'm not much of a beer person. The staff were very supportive of my love for hobbits and let me take many photos. They also took pictures for me. It's a cozy place that definitely lived up to my expectations.

It is a Hobbit that makes you feel like drinking. Meat pie is delicious!

The best place to finish such a nice tour inside Hobbiton. The muffin that serves inside was one of the best muffins i try in New Zealand. The decoration inside the inn was amazing.

What a great tour of Hobiton the guide was brilliant and even if your not a fan of the franchise you've got to see it to believe it, it feels like your in the actual Movie if you get the chance go...

Definately a must see for any LOTR fans out there.

The evening Hobbit Banquet Feast was amazing. The table was groaning from the weight of the food. Delicious and delightful!

The Ginger beer is really good, actually better than the Pale Ale. Beautiful location.

Like a dream come true when I visited this place... been a fan for soooo long so all was great. Love the buffet lunch they provided for some of the tour. Delicious food all around!

Surreal! Wish you got longer to enjoy this amazing pub from the set, but I guess if you have the money you can go for one of the evening banquets there :) . wish we had a replica of this pub in the uk!

It is a great experience to sit here, drink a mug of beer or cider and know what the location is. The Green Dragon is probably one to one based on the film set, but has become really beautiful. Convince yourself

At the end of the tour you come to this bar. The cider and the ale taste very good!

Mystical place. Would love to visit again. Their ginger ale is fab. A must see place while in New Zealand

A good add on for the tour, but not thr best in terms of a buffet lunch. I would suggest skipping this and eating at the Cafe at home base, the food there was excellent, in particular the breakfast stack.

If you like the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit movies, then there's no better place than Hobbiton, and no better place to eat than The Green Dragon Inn. The food was amazing, and you feel that you've stepped right into the pages of Tolkien's work.

Stepped back in time at the Green Dragon Inn! Great tasting drinks , cider, pale ale and ginger beers.

A must visit place if you are at the North Island of NZ. Well maintained Hobbiton Village and worth to visit. My only advise is, please avoid to bring along the baby stroller and the movie set is not suitable for wheelchair person.

Eat like a hobbit! Delicious food with a wide selection of salads, sides and meat for the buffet. Desserts were plenty and sweet. Complimentary coffee and tea are also available. And a free glass of alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink for visotors. Downside, it's a bit rushed if you're in a tour. No time for second breakfast?

I love the atmosphere in inside, especially when visiting in the winter, it really warms you up. Worth a visit for at least once in your life.

A must stop for any visit to Hobbiton. Perfect selection of beverages and snacks.

Nice cidre offered as part of the tour. Can dress up there too ans have private functions.

Unfortunately you will have to pay $79 to go on the Hobbiton Tour to get access to the Green Dragon but it is a fantastic building inside and out with a massive green dragon carving above the bar.

Perfect ending to the Hobbiton Movie Set, the Crushed Apple Cider is perfect after walking through on a hot day and the beef & ale pie are a must try.

Wish they had more food options, but still a great place to visit!

If you saw the Lord of the Rings, you should have a drink at Hobbiton and the Green Dragon.

Well what can I say, you'll love it every bit if you're a LOTR fan

The guided tour ends here and you get a free beer or cider or hot tea for the young ones. Beautifully decorated and spacious enough to accommodate big groups. They serve pies and bagels as well.

Amazing beef pie and beer! Wouls have liked a bit more time there though.

A must for any self respecting LOTR fans. Part of the only remaining set built for the films the tour round Hobbiton concludes with a complimentary drink of a choice of cider, beers or if preferred coffee (I was driving). It is an opportunity to look out over the lake, mill etc and get a feel for what it might be like living in a Hobbit Hole. Have now been twice & would go again. (It's just a pity New Zealand is so far away)!

Thoroughly enjoyed this little rest stop at the end of the Hobbiton tour.

Someday we might come here again!

It's a 2012 reconstruction of the original they burned for the Frodo scene in Galadriel's mirror. It's the end of the Hobbiton tour and it's cool. It has details of ads etc that makes it immersive.

Very nice hobbit pub (as known from Peter Jackson's films). They serve two types of beer, ginger ale, and cider.
