The Green Dragon Inn is inside the grounds of Hobiton. The atmosphere is warm (large fire place) and relaxing. It kind of like cozy family log cabin. Exactly the local Hobit hangout.

Anyone who give this less than 5 stars deserves to be thrown into the crater of Mt. Doom.
Nice pub to complete the Hobbiton experience. The beers are also excellent.
Really neat authentic experince, recommend Kiwis to go and see this.
Absolutely amazing food! The tour was great but the food was just as good.
as part of the Hobbiton Movie Tour the pub as featured in the movie is brilliant .A free drink is included in the tour.
Amazing time for all ages. A well organized tour and tasty eats and drinks at the end!!
You end up here at the end of the set tour, and it's a lovely way to finish the experience. You get to choose from an apple cider, amber ale, dark ale, or alcohol-free ginger beer. Bear in mind that you may get IDed: non-NZ nationals will need a passport (driving license not allowed).
You can sit in the Dragon itself or outside with a variety of seating. It's lovely to look across the lake and watch ducks going about their business.
It's a shame that the beer literally isn't available outside Hobbiton! Perhaps that what Mordor's forces really came for in the novels ;)
Here you can choose ginger beer, beer, dark beer, Chinese food in the tent to enjoy buffet-style meals, delicious meals! !
As part of a guided tour through the "Shire" in Hobbiton, there is free Hobbit beer. The entrance fee of currently 84 - NZ $ is worthwhile.
Lovely genuine New Zealand backdrops with a truly inspiring attention to detail. Ales and beers are delicious and very pleasant atmosphere all round. It was busy but not crowded on my visit. Dream come true.
Good atmosphere. enjoyed our feast and drinks options
Lovely refreshing ale at the end of your tour. Only one non-alcoholic drinks available though.
Was good, but a bit rushed as they have so many tour groups going through, would have been nice to have more time to enjoy the atmosphere.
In the village of Habi, when you are tired, go in for a drink, and the cost is already included in the ticket.
Amazing experience, wonderful guides and a beautiful place.
#LOTR #LordoftheRings
Only got the free beer. Other pubs in NZ has better beer.
The only bad part when it was time to leave. All part of the great Hobbiton experience
Inside hobbiton
A very nice place to have a drink
Beautiful place and a beautiful lunch with fresh veggies for a good vegetarian lunch
One of the best parts of hobbiton. Makes you really feel like you are there. The attention to detail is above and beyond.
Great pub etc pity cost is $89 entry through Hobbotin , Hobbotin is worth the visit but would like to have the Green Dragon open in the public domain
This is surreal and fun being in a pub that brews its own lagers and ales, a small selection, that was created from the imagination of Tolkien and turned into a film. There are open fires burning to help create a smokey smell outside and great details inside and out to make you feel like you'll see Sam and Frodo walk in next. Would love to come back for the evening buffet feast. All yours start and end here, so you will not miss out!
Arrange for a tour and dinner. Magical. If you loved Lord of the Rings you must visit Hobbiton near Matamata.
If you are a Hobbiton fan, you will love it. Try the cold pork pie with ginger beer.
Ginger beer is the best the interior is much like the frodos house
cannot stay long if you get here, cause you have to move out before the tour groups after yours are coming. the drinks and snacks taste OK, especially after a long walk you had
Every part of our experience was excellent! Would recommend water proof shoes if going during the wet season.
Hoot of a great time! Beautiful craftsmanship and architecture.....gorgeous landscaping and great drinks!
Really good food and loved the complimentary drink.
Loved the details of the Green Dragon and I got a cup of ginger beer!
This is one of the best and most unique restraunt's I've ever. The atmosphere was amazing and everybody was very clearly enjoying themselves. All staff were friendly and attentive, and the level of detail that went into creating the buildings exterior was mind blowing. I highly recommend this to anyone
Great place away fun to visit. Love the friendly staff.
Contain 39 small hobbit house . The explanation is super clear and also there's Q&A question by the staff but it will be very interesting to know all the part that is taken . Free alcohol and non alcohol drink will be given and it's so much that you couldn't drink finish if you take extra. The view is good and I'm sure that whoever been there will be very relax
The shire is wonderful great sandwich after the tour the toilets are cute and clean. Just enjoyed being there. Lord of the rings fan.
Visited Hobbiton back in the middle of Feb, such an amazing experience. Pie and a cider at the end in the Green Dragon Inn :D
The decorations are on point and the Cider was tasty.
Lovely final location for the Hobbiton Movie Set tour.
Hobiton is way over priced. Could go to the cinema 10 times for the entry fee. Feel very disappointed to just see flat sets, no actual Hobbit house. The inn was very good but too little too late.
It s hobbiton. What more can I say. Would have liked more time to explore it.
Cool place. Had the cold pork pie, it was interesting.
It was brilliant great tour and guide was really good.
Gorgeous, rustic, hobbity goodness! Cider and a ploughman's sandwich went down a treat!
After the books, and the movies! You have to see where BAGGINS lives and enjoys a good pint of beer! The atmosphere is friendly and with people from all over, start a conversation and learn about where they are from.
Building was awesome, wished they had offered a non-alcoholic beverage.
