I've stopped by on several occasions for pastries and coffee or a quick sandwich (mostly to go) and it's always been a pleasant experience as far as these things go. But the cake...THE GLORIOUS UNICORN CAKE!!! Armed with nothing but a photo from pinterest, they did a fantastic job baking (creating? It was art.) what was the centerpiece of my daughter's birthday party. It looked absolutely perfect! What's more, it was baked to perfection as well; taste and consistency right on the money. Will definitely seek their services the next time we find ourselves needing a special occasion cake.

A friend of mine recommended that I check this place out after I mentioned that I had previously driven past without a second thought - don't make that same mistake! This is a wonderful little local cafe.

The food is solid & enjoyable. I will freely admit to being a sucker for quiche, so I nearly automatically order it wherever I see it on a menu (unless it's mushroom quiche. Mushrooms are the worst).

Sometimes quiche can be pretty bad. The quiche at Grateful Table was a KNOCKOUT. Very light, fluffy, eggy goodness, leaning closer to the "custardy" side of things than the "hard-baked"; it is full of flavor. And the CRUST! Oh, the crust. Crumbly, deeply rich with butter, and light to the tooth, it elevates what could have been a good quiche to an excellent quiche, one of the best I've had anywhere.

They had a few options for types of quiche, and the woman who served me happily detailed them to me (even though they are listed on the menu board, as I noticed later). Do yourself a favor: when you go, get the duck bacon quiche. The pleasant, slightly smokey, mildly gamey flavor of the duck melds nicely with the eggs, and is not at all greasy as duck sometimes can be. I suspect this is in the way it is processed like "bacon." It is sourced from Maple Leaf Farms of Vermont, who specialize exclusively in raising ducks.

Quiches are "individual"-sized in little tin pans, to be popped into an oven for heating when you order them. They are served with a side of greens, fresh & lightly dressed with a mildly fruity vinaigrette.

Coffee is LavAzza brand, which is just fine. I had a cup of black brewed, and it's comparable to any of the big coffee shops. I'm spoiled on really fine coffee for home brewing, but am much less picky at cafes. I enjoyed this coffee. It was rich & darker than I generally prefer, but not offensive in any way and I enjoyed it. Refills are free. I got one. Pricing for all coffee & espresso drinks is on par with the major chain shops.

The space is humble, not all slick branding & on-theme decor like one of the big-name chains, nor hipster-cool like some of the spots closer to Minneapolis. Don't let that put you off. It's comfortable, and over the h o u r hour & a half I've sat here, it's gone from empty (the staff mentioned it'd been an unusually quiet morning) to 2/3 full of patrons, with plenty of others ordering to go. It's unassuming and welcoming. The staff have all been friendly as well, and are able to actually tell you details about the food. Midway thru sitting here, a gentleman came in, sat down with a guitar, and started playing. He has a pleasant baritone voice & an easy pace, and is quite a capable guitar player. He's un-mic'd and is off in the corner, and that casual vibe is just the right volume for either deliberately listening to, or simply enjoying as pleasant background music. It lends to the overall friendliness of the spot.

Altogether this was a really nice, tasty breakfast experience. I WILL be back to try some pastries sometime, as they all look delicious, and I'll sample one of the espresso beverages as well. There is a decently-diverse menu of sandwiches & salads for lunch, too (tho breakfast is served all day, to tempt breakfast lovers like myself into eating it for lunch).

Cheers!

I enjoy going to grateful table, I ve visited regularly over the years. The food is amazing. I would highly recommend the chocolate almond croissant and the curry tuna croissant. On the beverage front, I personally don t think the drinks are good. They re fine, but there is nothing special about them and the chai tea lattes I ve had there have been bland. Another reason why I ve reduced the number of stars in my rating is because the staff seems to be inconsistent with knowledge about when and what they offer. For instance, on a Saturday a group of friends and I visited and we all separately placed orders. Two of my friends were able to place an order for sandwiches and then when a third friend went up to order, he was told that they don t serve sandwiches that early in the day (10:30am). This is completely understandable that they don t want to serve lunch early in the day, but why did they decided to serve sandwiches to some but not to others? A final reason why I reduced my rating is because there are not many wall outlets available in the dining space, a good thing to know if you plan to go here to study. However, there is ample seating in this restaurant which is a plus if you plan to visit here with a group.

Very first time here. I ordered a chicken philly and a roasted veggie sandwich. I specifically asked if there was mushrooms on the veggie. I asked if it could be made without. I was told YES. So i asked for that sandwich without. This was a to go order. I drove all the way home, excited to try because a client raved about them today, only to find out, my sandwich has mushrooms. I am very, very allergic. I tried calling but no answer and had to leave a voicemail. For $23 thats pretty upsetting.

Edit: They did not call back.

This place is great. I was hoping for a small, artisanal bakery like this to open up near my house, and this place exceeded my expectations and then some. My favorite thing I tried from them was their chocolate hazelnut torte. For dog owners, they have dog treats too.

This is my favorite breakfast/lunch place in the area. I wish they were open longer on the weekend but the baked goods are fresh and delicious. Their coffee is excellent and their breakfast/lunch food is very tasty.

First timer here! Just spent my lunch hour at The Grateful Table! I had the Turkey Bacon Club with a side of chips. Very delicious. This is the kind of food you want in your body. The bread was fantastic! I also ended up leaving with a Almond Chai Latte in hand and 4 Caramel Bars to share with my coworkers. This is a great spot to have a restful lunch and share good company with.

I just tried the French Toast & bacon, and my husband had the Biscuits & Gravy, and woooooow! Best I've had in a long time. I've also had lunch items & pastries in the past, and I've always been impressed. Love this hidden gem!

Nice spot. Reasonable parking. You are able to hear the person, with whom, you are at the table. I did not see any gluten, dairy or soy free options. Full disclosure I did not ask. I enjoyed the tea, environment and my company.

I had a Reuben sandwich and thought it was awesome. The coleslaw that came with it was good. My wife had a quiche and she said it was just OK. She was not feeling good and this may have something to do with her review. The server came out and saw aspirin on our table and offered my wife tea. I thought that was a nice gesture

Lots of good beads and baked goods. Not as many sweet treats the time we went, but plenty of pastry options. Very good coffee drinks. Prices were pretty comparable to other similar places. Location is good, easy to find. Store was clean, comfortable and nice. Staff was friendly and helpful... Actually, they were all knowledge too, which was very helpful. Would go back!

Had the egg Benedict... Original and delightful presentation, using a delicious light pastry rather than an English muffin. Loved the hollandaise too. As usual, excellent coffee and friendly helpful staff..

I like that coffee shop. Layout and the art of the sitting area is nice. Serve good coffe, good pastries. The owner and people working there are very pleasant. I was very disappointed that they use paper plates, cups even to serve soup and sandwiches. In my opinion, it make this place feel cheap. I will not meet my friends there for that reason. Soup prices expensive. Wish them success!

It is a lovely place! Took me a while to discover it, living so near for so long. The woman who owns and operates it does a fabulous job. Everything is all natural and made fresh from scratch. CALLING ALL HIPSTERS

A very nice coffee house that seems to be usually busy with customers. The selection of coffee and specialties is great as is the food menu itself. (The quiche with salad is very yummy.) The staff is wonderfully warm and gracious. Stop by and see the cards, pottery, honey, jewelry and gifts made by local artists and farmers. If you have a small group gathering, you can even reserve the meeting room (10 people at most). The only drawback is that the noise level here can be quite loud with conversations, coffee grinders, milk steamers, etc. Nonetheless, it's a vibrant community locale without the huge corporate presence of many coffee shops.

We've started buying our bread from them: so tasty! Everything I've had has been consistently great. And I feel save entering their store. I'm looking forward to the Christmas brunch and treats we are ordering.

I really enjoy TGT! It's a small locally owned place. The owner is there everytime I go. She's great at coming up with new dishes, making any substitutions, and making it all tastes like quality comfort food. The decor is cute/comfortable and it even has a private meeting room that can be booked for free, I believe.

The only down side is it's tough to find unless you know it's there. It's easy to drive right passed it if you're not looking hard enough.

I love this place! Local and homemade. Anything you choose you can't go wrong. Such a friendly group of people, it feels like community. I recommend this place to anyone for lunch or a coffee date! If you're searching around the Rosedale Mall area for a quick bite, skip the fast food, go a little further and hit up The Grateful Table instead! You will not be disappointed.

These gracious and talented ladies (a mother/daughter team) deserve to be in a quaint corner cafe rather than a nondescript strip mall. If you are capable of getting beyond the cover you will delight in the scratch-baked croissants, quiche, and coffees. And don t forget your fresh side salad with a classic balanced vinegrette that comes with the quiche. I ll be back for sure. Support family-owned & local.

Off the beaten path, but worth the stop in!

This little bakery was a great find. Maybe too great since I think I developed a weekly stop for a pastry. Nice little place, not too busy, great pastries as well as breads, and serving breakfast and lunch. Eat in or carry out. They also seem to have items for sale from what looks like local artists which is awesome to see. I'll certainly go back, as the service has been very friendly and quick.

The Grateful Table is a nice little coffee and lunch spot but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I had a vanilla latte that was excellent. It was sweet but that's how I like my drinks. I tried the brewed coffee and it was abysmally weak. They have a wide selection of pastries and sandwiches. The sandwiches are good but the pastries are all decorated with glitter, including the lemon bar. It doesn't detract from the flavor but does give the impression that one has recently made out with Ke$ha. The key lime cheesecake tasted old. It was decorated with a merengue swirl (with glitter) rather than whip and the key lime topping came off in one piece. The staff here are very welcoming. The atmosphere is pleasant but far from cozy. All in all, not a bad experience, just not an outstanding one.

Simple, modern cafe. Everything is fresh and nice! Pastries are light and fluffy, not too sweet.
You must try the duck quiche, it's heavenly!
They also offer afternoon tea which I wanna try next.
Some local made things are also sold, eg, honey, craft.
This place is a hidden gem!
