A great dog friendly pub with lovely food!
We visited while on a trip to Bournemouth with our dog. He was welcomed by the friendly staff and offered fresh water to drink. My partner and I both had fish and chips and the batter was the best I've ever had! Highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere to eat when you've got your dog with you!

Very good local pub, serving good pub food and many different ales. It is quite a cosy pub. It has a outdoor area and a meeting room. Has a pool table and darts board. I would go there again and recommend it to family and friends.

Disorganised, started late, cancelled 2 rounds of questions as didn't think there would be time for them (one team decided this so we were already curious as to why they had the choice when we were all participating). Quiz was meant to start at 8.30, (which it didn't because the quiz master was drunk and constantly having half hour chats with all his mates in there) by 11pm there were still 4 rounds to go through, the quiz master was completely bladdered, telling every team answers and clues to the questions. Could barely hear him let alone understand him. Took forever, complete waste of money and time. It is an alright pub otherwise, but if you are looking for a pub quiz to go to, this is 100% not the one. Wetherspoons in Winton is far better and doesn't take up your entire evening.

I was in there on the weekend and ordered 2 pints of Amstel, when we tasted and it had a stale and musty taste, I informed the manager and all we got was o really no sorry no offer to replace it or he did not even pull the beer to taste it him self , we had to leave them two paints and order other beer.

Known this pub for years and yet not visited for a while, great delight, traditional as you can ger in the Bournemouth area, close to town centre and best of all, top quality and numerous real ales. Nowhere else does this, even though they say they do, promise.

Wonderful pub with even better hosts. Natalie and Ben really couldn t do enough for us.

Food was fantastic as was the beer. We had our (huge) dog with us which is normally a bit of a challenge, however he was made to feel as welcome (if not more) than we were.

If you re ever in Bournemouth, then you d be mad not to pop in, it s the best pub with the best managers in town.

We ll be back very soon.

Thank you
Jamie, Sophie and Moose x

What a lovely, warm, welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff, great food and drink. The food is very reasonably priced. We have been coming here for years as they welcome dogs. Our dog always comes with us, also as we do not have children it is nice to not hear them as it is over 18's. I hope this pub is always here.

At the back of Commercial Road, where you can find a multitude of franchises and existing places in any city in the world, we find this traditional English pub, much better from the inside than the appearance it can give from the outside.
It has a good assortment of lager beers and even more ales. In addition, its menu of dishes, without being extensive, has an excellent value for money, with typical English meals.
The public is the traditional English, native, of about 30 years and up. And the atmosphere, great to enjoy what is a traditional English pub in its essence.

Great range of ales!! Food was superb, not fancy just good honest fare at reasonable prices.

A real traditional pub with a lovely courtyard area in the centre of town. A real gem for those who are turned off by modern barn-style pubs or loud music filled bars.
