I love this traditional pub, in its town setting. Great that you can have real ale flights and test the ale out. Good food, nice staff. A breath of fresh air for its individuality

Traditional English pub in the centre of Bournemouth. Great pub food, selection of 10 plus ales and beers. Lovely friendly casual environment. It also has a lovely beer garden. Major sports are shown without being too intrusive if you are not overly interested. Basically the best traditional pub in town. Highly recommended.

What a find, excellent pub, good food, pool table. Ben the manager was welcoming at the door and throughout the visit, couldn't have asked for more. Definitely will go back there and I don't drink alcohol. Can't recommend enough, 5 stars all day long.

Nice enough pub, food was good and catered for a group of 14 of us. Live music as well on the Saturday we were there. Enjoyed my time there.

What a great pub! Large selection of ales and lager always brings a smile to my face! Ate a pizza and it's done wonderfully. Italian style,thin crust and loaded. Nice staff all helpful and smiling nothing was too much. Where the name came from I would love to know

Looking for another pub I came across this one on the way and never moved on.A proper trad. pubwith a good selection of Wadsworth beers + guest beers.Made to feel welcolme.Give it a try.

Beer was warm and the quality of one was questionable. Not all items on the menu were available. The menu did not offer traditional "Pub Grub" The atmospher was not inviting and overall was not impressed. I had heard of this pub over many years and when I had the chance to visit found it was not what it had been made out to be and not what I had expected. True it had 11 different beers on tap but that was as good as it got..

Visited for the amusement of the name. Staff really friendly. Beer was great. Food was home cooked and a good variety. Child and pet friendly. Certainly we will be back next time we visit

This is a lovely pub with a mix of well manored people ,bar staff very friendly good selection of beer I went there every day whilst on Bournemouth most days twice..The only downside for me was my fish n chips.The chips mushy peas were fine but the battery was really tough I had it two days running thinking it might improve unfortunately it got worse.The pizza which my wife had was very good and the other food I saw looked good to but I still give five stars anyway because it's overall great.I have to be honest!

I didn't know this bar existed, its hidden away with a great enclosed courtyard, partially covered so all weather & good atmosphere, plus a table tennis room for extra fun.

Gone downhill and now quite dirty. Toilets a bit grim and food very basic. Outside seems to have become just a smokers doss area rather than the cozy courtyard it once was. Such a shame it's so run down these days.
