Despite the name, they have no special gins. Maybe have one special gin drink to shut idiots like me up.

I drink/eat here about 2-3 times a month. Has a great happy hour (half price on the whole bar) until 8 PM.

Great service, atmosphere. Definitely a great place you want to be for football Sundays( the energy is just right, plus AMAZING prices (if you go at the right time)

First bad review, the audacity of this security never been so racially profiled, they wouldn t let me in because had a US passport, but a Peruvian passport, and on top they were completely rude and felt completely uncomfortable! Never coming back

The place is lively and serves food till 3AM. The Gin Mill Special was just amazing!

Came here on election night and sat at the bar. The bartender, Melissa or Alissa(I don't remember well I got pretty hammered) was really good with a great personality. We all had a great time there, probably wouldn't have if she was not the bartender.

Great place to chill watch a good football or basketball game....Staff is wonderful food is also great.....

If you're looking for a young fun bar for football on a Saturday, look no further. Definitely make sure you know what you're getting into though. It is a sports bar aimed at recent college grads. Bros and picklebacks aplenty.

Went to this bar to watch a baseball game. They had some really good burgers and outside seating. Just wish the TV's were a bit bigger

Yes it's crowded, yes there are young people drinking too much and being too loud, but it's a sports bar. You can't beat the half price pitchers.

Enjoyed watching Game 5 of the NBA Finals here the other night. Bartender was cool and remembered my round of drinks.

I've spent 5 years in NYC and had the chance to eat food from hundreds of places. The Gin Mill has hands down the best sandwich in the city, the New York Strip Steak Sandwich. Go there, get one and you won't forget it! Apart from that, the GMs are really great people, the staff is always helpful and professional and the drinks are good.

This bar played Rocky Top! It also has adult sized toilets. A rarity in NYC bars. Nice to not have my junk touching the bowl.

3 stars only because it always has a warm, cozy and positive feel but too much of a west coast feel that leaves a bad taste in my mouth because inclusivity is important.

Standard sports bar in the same group of bars as 13th step, Hair of the Dog, and nearby Jake's dilemma. This one tends to be a little less crowded/loud for college football, and the food isn't bad either.

Love this place during happy hour. Great for gatherings, solid beer selection, good food options, and attentive service. They also have beer pong tables in the back.

Monday night half off all beer and shots. Great cheap dive bar perfect for after softball game. All your favorite bar foods on the menu. Service very consistent. Clean for a dive bar too. Plenty of TV's.

Don't go here for a group or downstairs room. The food is much less than expected. The drinks are very small servings. Many wines and beers are not available. It was not as advertised.

I went along a few times to watch the NFL on Sunday afternoons. The bar was packed and was incredibly loud, but it served the atmosphere extremely well. The bar staff were polite and served drinks efficiently and quickly.

Let me put it this way...I scored my first night. Although my brothers wife cut it short when she walked into the living room admidst me balls deep into some type of Peru/Spanish Hawaii type (not the hottest) it was Definitley fun night and this is the type of place that could occur next wknd. I mean once the server couldn't even stop touching me and that's while my gf is sitting there! Yeaaah! This place just makes girls horny like UWS girls gone wild. Plus they have that Stanky buffalo chicken options...I might actually get a wrap right now

The Gin Mill is a typical college bar, that's not that close to a college at all. It's impossible to get a table after work, so arrive early if you have any hope of getting a table. Even if you have a table, service can be slow because they're battling crowds so you may be better off ordering beer from the bar itself. I had the potato skins and they were average.

Just got bad service, took 20 minutes to get seated (had to ask to be seated) and get asked if we wanted drinks. The food was average, got burgers and they were very dry.
The waitress was nice, but slow and I had to ask for a drink refill. Probably wouldn t go back there again.

What can you say, it's a college bar. Very similar to the other bars owned by the same guy. Beer pong in the back, cheep drinks, and a private downstairs area. It's a madhouse sometimes which can be annoying, but it's good overall

Good music, a LOT of tables(which is good), and great service makes this an awesome bar to visit when you want to go out with some friends. Though the tables take away forthe usual amount of intermingling that you get in bars. The specials are definitely great too, generally starting after 8pm on weekdays, the specials start at 11:30am on weekends

This is a college bar full of idiots. If you are over the age of 25 this place is not for you.

They offer happy hour deals basically out of any reasons you can think of which is coming from the true spirit of running a bar, I personally think. Beers taste how it s supposed to be, and the foods are attentive to the classic while boasting their own touch.

Great spot for catching up, watching sports - 12+ TVS, and even playing beer pong! Specials are on point here too. I came on a Wednesday to watch the Knicks and Linderella, and pitchers of Bud Light were only $8! Seems like a good place for groups to hang out and get a table. I didn't order any food, but the nachos at the table next to mine looked awesome!

I've come across from the UES a couple times now to check this place out. It's always had cops at the entrance. It kinda creeps me out. I've been here 10 years and have never seen that anywhere else.
