We had a great time by gateway arch! Too bad the elevators up were closed because of covid! The arch itself is magnificent and the park rangers were very helpful!
The town has only one touristy thing to do is gate way arch. We went up the arch, the overall experience was ok, the view from top is not as we expected due to very small widows to look through.
The New museum is really awesome definitely worth going
Absolutely beautiful place. I would recommend packing a lunch. Also feel the wait and the price for going to the top is a little much but I still think it's worth it to do it at least once.
The view is worth paying to see. And it's fairly inexpensive to go up the elevator. It's now a National Park, so definitely one to check off the bucket list!
Went during the late morning on a Saturday and it was not super crowded but it was also the weekend of another event in town, so that worked out well.. if you go up to the top, I would recommend doing it earlier rather than later because it got a little warm (went around 2pm)
The trees were blooming and it was super pretty, so spring time is definitely a good time!
Amazingly beautiful place. We drove from Maryland just to see the Gateway to the Arc. And we were not disappointed.
This place was so amazing!! Definitely take the ride to the top, the views are beautiful.
It is a must to see once in your life. The engineering marvel of it is amazing. The precision needed back in the day before everything computerized. The forethought to plan to have rides to the top was amazing. Then the actual view from the top is spectacular. Kids then went to base of arch just to see how big it was. Great time despite heat.
If you are looking for a good arch, look no further. This arch is over 600 feet tall and exudes archiness!! There is a large park outside for the kids to run around, and trollies that take you to the top!
Great home school trip! We loved the experience together!
Amazing view from where I took the shots
A must see if you travel to St. Louis. Dress warm my friends
Love visiting the national parks! Part of the walkway around it was under construction when I went in late December 2017. I had my dog so I couldn't go inside, but you can go up to the very top of the arch for some amazing views of the Mississippi River and St. Louis.
Fabulous. I loved the Arch the history the riverboat and the great Park Rangers.
This was a beautiful view inside the arch... just stunning !
Based on other reviews, we booked our tickets for the tram in the morning before we left the hotel. We had no problem scoring a time we wanted, though did notice some times were already booked. The South and North trams depart every ten minutes so you wait for your ticket time and then line up. We had the mobile tickets were made sure to screen shot each bar code done they cell reception downstairs was really spotty. We also booked a time for the movie but the theater want crowded and the attendant didn't even check our tickets or time before letting us in. Kids enjoyed the tram but I'll admit it freaked me out since it was so small and tight.
I know security is important so allow plenty of time to get through it. Plan wait time for the elevator.
Great for people new to Saint Louis.... lots of good historical facts
Meusem underneath the arch. The ride to the top is pretty cool. Nice views and a unique experience.
After 3 visits for business; I finally get to see The Gateway Arch. It's quite massive than what I thought. A beautiful place for that morning stroll.
Awesome newly done museum. I need to go back so I can see the rest and read more of what happened.
Definitely an experience. Family loved going up in the arch. I did have some issues from the height (dizziness/vertigo), but have a mild fear of heights anyway. Definitely a unique building, and recommend seeing the movie before as well.
Great site. The museum does a great job connecting visitors with the time period when St. Louis was the place to hit before heading west. Thoroughly covers Westward Expansion through a relatively unbiased lense. Only complaint was the circle I was sent in to get the Military National Parks pass, but even that was a minor inconvenience compared to the value of the pass.
Kids made memories that will last a lifetime. If you dont do well in elevators you wont do well in the tram. The tram they show at the beginning is nothing like what you step into.
Clean, friendly atmosphere, very well priced. Definitely an experience everyone should be apart of once.
Very nice. The view was great the museum was lovely!
We visited during 4th of July......3 days of full entertainment......plane shows......free concerts......beautiful fireworks under The Arch
Watch the video after so you don't freak out thinking of how long ago the Arch was built great experience and definitely worth the ticket price! But be warned the tram is very small and it's a 4 minute ride to the top with 5 people. There are windows on the door so you can see out into the elevator shaft so that helps if you're a bit claustrophobic.
The museum at the bottom is almost more interesting than the arch itself. Beautiful views from the top and excellently designed throughout
We went down town to the Arch late evening to let the girls see it in it's glory at night, and with the flood water so high on the steps the were in awe of it all. We stuck around and let them play nearby so it was a fun family outting even though it was closed.
Fairly priced and quite the experience going up to view at the top of the arch.
Awesome museum and experience overall. The view at the top is nothing special, but you have to appreciate the architectural wonder that the arch is and being inside it
Awesome experience. Definitely worth a visit if you re in St Louis.
The arch was nice definite go too if you are there.. would have been better if it were a bit windy make sure to check the weather also before every trip we got rained out of six flags!
The park was very clean and well kept. People were nice and helpful and The Gateway Arch was stunning.
Its always nice experience to see the Arch.. Now they made some improvements auditorium and light effects..
Such a great place, I have been up the arch before but I found that we had much more fun just horsing around in the grass all 5 of us! The arch is a must see but going there just to hang out in the grass spin a few poke stops and maybe have a picnic is worth it too
I ultimately Rode The Tram Car to the Top. I was impressed by The numerous Exhibits Along the way before the tram ride; to include history and info about the Architecture.
Born across the river, but this was my first time in the Arch. Awesome experience, and the museum was amazing.
Awe inspiring for sure! What a beautiful sight to visit. The museum was great. Sadly, we could not ride the tram due to its current closure. Nonetheless, it was an incredible experience.
While we didn't get to go up in the arch due to Covid-19, just seeing it in person is awe-inspiring. It's really something you have to see up close to truly admire. We did visit the museum and it was also interesting, but nothing to rave about.
The renovations on the Arch and grounds is spectacular! Way to go St. Louis! The museum was so informative and interactive for people of all ages. We also saw the building of the arch movie in the theater. I enjoyed everything a lot the new renovations.
This was very dirty. It looks likes a lot of stainless cleaner would be required for this task. Larger than I expected based on photos I've seen. Parking was difficult to find.
I had a wonderful experience, never thought that you could actually go inside the Arch
Loved it you have great veiws of the city. Cost is $13.00 just for the tram ride up. And there are package deal to for other stuff.
The new renovations really enhance the whole experience.
What Amazing feat of American engineering and construction prowess.
The Gateway Arch is a great opportunity to visit a park, museum and national monument all in one. The grounds are nice and include a pond on either side of the arch. The museum was well done and provided great information about the westward expansion. The ride to the top of the arch is in a relatively small pod. It is a tight fit for 5 people and might be tough for those afraid of small spaces. It's about a 4 minute ride to the top. There are small windows at the top of the arch with views of St. Louis and Illinois across the river. On a clear day you can see for 30 miles in each direction.
St Louis native who remembers the old arch museum and grounds. The renovations and updates they did are AMAZING! The new ground are absolutely beautiful, especially in the spring. I was really impressed by the new museum: very interesting and thorough. Also pro tip: the museum is free, you only have to pay for the ride up the Arch
Tremendous! I was nervous in the tram but my honey had a lot of fun. The museum was fantastic, I wish we had had more time to see it all.
Newly renovated. Beautiful landscape, now you can walk from downtown to the arch without crossing any road. Previously the Arch is kind of isolated from the city. The view from the chamber inside the top of the Arch is spectacular especially when the weather bus nice and clear. You can see far far away. The museum in the visitor center is excellent, it tells how the Arch was constructed. Also it tell the story about the people who lived in the area and the development of St. Louis.
A unique experience that can't be compared to anything else: impressive architecture, interesting information, and way-back history!
A great national park. The museum is well worth the price. The arch sways and the ride up is tight so be careful.
Definitely a must see experience. Not the most fun you'll ever have, but worth it. The view is okay. The tram ride is slightly claustrophobic. The viewing deck is tightly packed and kind of short. The windows were small and hard to see out of. But again, worth it. Not because it's easy, or fun or even just to appreciate the magnificent engineering marvel that it is.
Instead go for the opportunity to view America from the perspective of another time. A time of a changing nation, putting the horrors of world wars behind it and looking forward realizing that loosing of the bounds of this Earth into the new frontier of space was possible. An America where everyday men and women could realize a better life than their parents and grandparents. One with the breaking down of the barriers of segregation. That is why you go visit the Gateway Arch National Park.
Amazing architecture! The entrance to museum/tram to the top has changed from the previous entrance. The view from the top is amazing.
We love our experience here plus the museum under the arch is full of history and on top of it, it's free.
It was nice to view from my hotel. Peaceful place to get your mind together. I loved it!!.
Signage for entrance is needed. The museum is surprising in the best way. The trip to the top of the arch is well worth the extra cost and time. Overall good experience . The movie is very interesting but probably not for the young ones.
The view was pretty e ic! But the ride up was a bruh moment.
Incredible architectural work. Super a beautiful and massive piece of art. and it s basically free to go. We paid $7 for parking but I m sure there s places to park for free or cheaper at least. Still $7 is more than more it to walk under it and see it in person up close.
It's a classic. The little video before going up to the arch is ok. They also take your group's picture before going up. There are a lot of steps. The elevator car is also small. I feel like they give a few warning before going into it.
If you do have some bigger/taller people in your group, it could be a challenge to fit everyone in the car.
It was an awesome affordable experience. The arch is much bigger than I imagined, and the views from the top are beautiful. Worth the trip.
The Gateway Arch was a neat experience. It was cloudy when we went, so unfortunately the view at the top wasn't great, but it was fun to hear the history and take the most interesting elevator/lift I've ever been on. Not much else to it, but the park surrounding the Arch was nice, though under construction. Make sure to check out the ground level sculpture nearby as well of Louis and Clark.
A beautiful display of extensive architecture. Definitely worth the $14 to go to the top. The tram is a tight squeeze, but the ride isn't too bad.
We went on a rainy day so it was not crowded and led to a better experience.
I couldn't go up the arch but we went to the museum and it was amazing. The history display is so fascinating that I could've spent a whole day in there. But the gift shop is ridiculously expensive.
Amazing monument and great views from the top of the arch.
If it's your first time in St Louis or your 50th, there's never a wrong time to visit the Gateway Arch. The Arch is an amazing feat of human accomplishment and the museum prior to entry adds so much to the experience. Take the time to visit while you are in St Louis and learn about our nations history as well as one of the coolest architecture innovations of the 20th century.
It was amazing trip in winter time.
Don t miss it
A great view from the top but they are trying to run too many people through too fast. It was extremely congested which takes away from the experience.
The Gateway Arch is a great tourist attraction and for those in Missouri, a stroll through the park. You get a great view of the city, and if there is a baseball game that day, you can see them from a top view. Excellent to visit.
Great place nice and clean a must see if you are in town
Such an amazing and iconic monument. I was surprised how tall it actually is. A Must See if you are near here.
Great time, everyone should be able to experience the sights from this monument. The ride to the top is a little cramped but worth it once you see the city from 620 feet up.
Was sad it was closed due to government shutdown, but explored the park area.
Very nicely redone much better than the original museum part.
Amazing space to spread out and enjoy the weather. Dog friendly. Beautiful park. Highly recommend.
Unique experience! Very cool and you've a beautiful view over St. Louis and the Mississippi River! But if it rained the day before, better don't visit the arch. You can't see through the windows very well because they're steaming up.
This was our 1st time, and it truly was a sight to see. Make sure to visit the Arch museum that is located underground! It was very modern and high tech, even had a gift shop in side and tons of history to enjoy. We loved it, and it was free for the arch museum.
The Gateway Arch, located in the middle of St.Louis. It may not be the biggest national park. But it is an iconic landmark. Trams take you to the top where you can see a lot from the Busch Stadium to the casino that always lights the night sky. The view is better watching in night than day. Just don't wait until it is to dark. There always is people smoking pot outside.
Loved my visit to the Arch. My fav part was the elevators to go up. Must visit spot!
Beautiful park, well maintained inside and out. Museum is awesome and very informative. Ride to the top was an experience of a lifetime. Views were magnificent. A must see on your bucket list!
Beautiful location next to the Mississippi River. I recommend seeing the film about how and why the arch was built, and then take the tram to the top of the arch for an incredible view. It's well worth the time and money.
Still worth the visit even though it was a cloudy/rainy morning and the windows at the top of the arch were covered in condensation. Buy your tickets online early and if you have an annual National Park pass you can save $3 per person.
We always have fun when we come to St. Louis and go to the arch. I live in Missouri so I have been here several times. I have to say I do like what they have done with it! Its was really nice seeing the sun set with the arch and the water. It doesn't look so run down! It is a nice little walk and down too!
I enjoyed the experience of going to the top of the arch and walking around.
What an amazing structure, with incredible sight lines that transcend steel and concrete and have a way of touching your emotions. The history of this city and it's importance in the expansion of this nation are presented in this park and it's design. Looking at the possible other candidates concepts when this was being designed in the 40s/50s, you can't help but be drawn to this arch, this curve, this almost natural behemoth watching over the city. I've been in awe of this beautiful city and enjoyed my first visit
