Nice tourist must-see, but you're not going to make it to the top if you only have a couple hours to spare. They need to post the actual tram schedule online, not just hours of operation. Expect a long wait time from getting a ticket to actually getting on the tram.

I had a few hours to kill downtown before heading off to the airport, and decided to visit the Arch. I showed up at 3:30 PM assuming they'd have rides every hour or so. I was told the next tram departed at 5:45 PM...???

It was my first visit to St. Louis, so obviously I had to go to the arch. Quite enjoyed both the tram ride to the top and the film about the building of the arch, though the movie might be a little dry for little kids. Wish we could have also gone out on the river, but flooding had the riverboats all shut down. Overall, a great attraction.

I loved this attraction though. Everything was clean, the kids loved it, and the guides were very knowledgeable. The view from the top was fantastic and I like that you can stay at the top until you are done. We spent about 20 minutes taking in the sights of downtown St. Louis and the Mississippi River. The river levels were high so there was some interesting things to show the kids on the river side. Looking st our hotel, the old courthouse, and the ball park were great on the city side.

The ride up was cramped but not uncomfortable. 4 people would have been a great fit, but 5 is totally doable for each car. Getting to see the inside of the arch for the 4 minute trip up was really cool.

This is a genuine slice of Americana. Whenever anyone thinks of St. Louis they think about the arch. This piece of American history and what it represents is an awesome sight to see in person, pictures don't do it enough justice. The recently renovated museum is loaded with history and informative exhibits to see. Most importantly is the cramped arch ride to the top (if you are claustrophobic take caution). The sights at the top are well worth the trip.

Great architecture (pun intended). Staff are friendly, helpful and informative. Great museum and facility. It s a neat experience getting to the top in the tiny tram and it gets crowded at the top. I d skip the boat ride to be honest.

Awesome experience. Definitely go to the top. Go when off season and it's not busy. I sometimes have problems with tight spaces, so I wanted to ride in a car by myself, and since it was not busy, they let me. Guide at top was very helpful, and pointed out great sites, like first sky scraper and first Catholic church west of Mississippi river. Next time I will spend more time in arch museum and old court house museum. Fudge in gift shop is super yummy.

A great place for good views, pleasant walks, photo ops, and the free expansive and modern museum of the westward expansion of the U.S. (told from all viewpoints). We did not take the Arch tram as we had in the past, but it was well worth the effort then. Suggest staying at the Drury Inn at the Arch and booking an Arch View room. If you are looking, there are many other entertainment spots within walking or a short car/uber drive.

What a wonderful place. The ride to The top was awesome. The views are great. The grounds are very nice. If there is one downside I would have to say it is not set up for people with walking problems. There is a lot of backtracking. It is totally setup for wheelchairs and scooters but if you walk with only a cane it is a different story.

My wife and I had a wonderful time visiting the Arch. Of course, if you re in St.Louis you have to go see this iconic monument. They have a museum below that unfortunately was undergoing renovations when we went. When you go on the arch Tour, they take you to a room where they show you a video of the history of the arch and the 60s, then, they put you in a capsule that takes you to the top. The capsule ride is very interesting as you care riding to the top of an arch. Once you get to the top, the views are breathtaking and you can hang there for a long time if you so wish. Overall, had a wonderful time.

Good attraction! It was very interesting to learn about the creation of the gateway arch. The funny elevator to get at the top of the arch. Incredible view of st-louis. Definitely a most when you are in st-louis

I have never seen anything like this. The fact that you can take a tram ride to the top is amazing. There is a huge line to get tickets, so better but tickets in advance. Once you get the ticket and enter, takes about 40 minutes to get up tooooooo the top on a busy day but the wait is well worth it. Definitely recommend going here.

Views from the arch are breath taking.

Second time was just as good, if not better as the first time. The construction paid off and it looked amazing. Wish I had seen it during peak hours. It was great even when it was empty, a lot better when you can take your time reading.

Not really sure what to say because the place is awesome and the people are great but the way the Park Service has the Arch set up needs to be re-evaluated. Me and my family showed up in person to buy tickets to go up to the top of the Arch only to find out that It was sold out until 1:30 PM the next day and even then it was suggested that I go online and get the tickets. The movie we paid to see was a bust because some protesters were using the theater. Watch out for parking in front of the Arch along the road that runs parallel to the Mighty Mississippi even though the parking spaces are not marked "no parking". Its NO PARKING to cars. The ticket is $25 dollars.

Not much to see for free other than the arch. Wanted to take the tram, but didn't leave for another 45 minutes. The place was not very busy at all & can't understand why there was such a long wait. Second time this happened & have yet to make it on the tram. Due to the recent flooding in the area it was a nightmare to drive to & park. Many street closures in the area.

The gateway arch is unique in every aspect. The museum, the ride up the arch, the park across the river is all so very fascinating. I've been stuck in st. Louis a few nights so exploring has been really fun

We didn t get to go up so make reservations online ahead of time! Even two hours woulda been enough time if we had known. My bad. But just seeing the Colosseo arch and enjoying the beautiful grounds, museum and of course the a Mighty Mississippi made the stop one to remember!

I like the new arch remodel. It looks a little futuristic but I can dig it. I like that they give a little tour before. I wish they would bring fireworks back to the arch instead of forest park because it was just magical when I was younger watching them. Other than that I like the outside landscape layout. Seems spacious but I dont see people hanging out here much.

Loved it of all the years I spent in the midwest I never went. Found out it was built in 1964 so I asked my dad who did Terrazzo work if he had done the floors and sure enough he had what an interesting piece to hold onto it's a federal Park right in the middle of St Louis

Claustrophobics beware! The "tram" to the top is an experience in itself. You absolutely will be rubbing thighs (not knees) with four other occupants for an exciting four minutes up and three minutes down. Once you get to the top, the view is great, as you wait your turn with the crowd of people ahead of you. For those that are inclined, try leaning up against the wall to the window and look straight down to the ground from the angled windows, yikes.

Beautiful and majestic! 630 feet tall, 630 feet wide, rising up over the St. Louis skyline and river. I would definitely recommend riding the tram to the top and seeing the view from inside at the top! Well worth it. The trams are small and cramped, fully enclosed, but they will accommodate you as best they can. Not recommended for those with mobility difficulties or claustrophobia! Otherwise the museum is free and interesting.

This was my first time here and it was quite a site to behold. The Arch is colossal and the entire area is well taken care of. Plan on doing a lot of walking. Fortunately, we had a hotel that was about a mile from the Arch so we decided to walk. Make sure you have sunscreen with you. The Arch Cafe is really pricy. We had 2 drinks, a hamburger and a chicken sandwich for $30. We then rode up the Arch in these little 5 man pods, and believe me, they are small and tight fitting. They are only 4 feet tall but the trip up is only about 5 minutes. The trip down is even faster. I am around 320 lbs. and was worried I wouldn't fit, but I did with no problem.

Very cool surprisingly good film about the construction of the arch and very nice museum on western expansion issues and St Louis history as a bonus. You can also take a short tram ride to the top of the arch where you can enjoy the view for as long as as you like (until closing time). There is a small cafe to take a break at.

This was not very handicap accessible if you can't walk very far. Parking was to far away. Just trying to get off of the interstate to the archway is a mess if there is a game at Busch stadium. Not very visitor friendly!! But a very amazing structure ! The tram to the top was awesome!! A must do!

Great visit with awesome features for people of all ages. Very visitor and customer friendly. Lines moved well. Wait times were good considering it was a busy Saturday afternoon. All staff, park service personnel were gracious, friendly, helpful and informative. Most enjoyable experience overall.

The arch is beautiful and incredibly large! It's quite intimidating to look up at. The arch park is such a beautiful place to visit. Great scenary for pictures! The cathedral and courthouse are also pretty cool places to visit right next door to the arch.

Amazing experience. The journey to the top was awesome to see St. Louis from a birds eye view. A must see for any traveler. Book your tickets ahead of time so you can choose the time you want. Middle of the day was ridiculously busy. I would suggest early morning or later in the evening so you can enjoy the experience without so many people.

This a good place to visit. Going up in the Arch is good when you get you to the top and lookout over the city or the Great Mississippi on the otherside. But the little capsule with no windows but the front door area they try and get 5 people in for a 4min ride to the top is a little tight. Besides that it's pretty cool!

The Gateway Arch in St. Louis is an amazingly eye catching landmark that can be seen from many areas around the city. It sits in a lovely park setting within walking distance and with nice views of downtown and the river. It is also within walking distance of a good number of restaurants and bars. The on site Gateway Arch Museum is also worth visiting. Accessible by train, there is also metered street parking and paid lot parking available within easy walking distance.

It's a pretty interesting piece of architecture and an important symbol of the historical culture in the area but the whole experience going up didnt seem worth the money paid. Just my opinion though

Website is not clear by showing it is now open. Arch is open but due to virus no one can go to the top. That is the main reason to go. Just make rules for wearing a mask and limit visitors on the tram. Wasted 6 hour trip and paid for parking just to see the outside only.

Not what I expected

Not what I expected
I was not prepared for the experience
Not for really tall or large people
The view from the top is beautiful
Windows much smaller than expected

Great museum and gift shop area below the arch that you're able to visit with free time slot tickets available on their website. There are also horse drawn carriages on the street below the steps of the arch as well as helicopter tours, a few drink stands nearby and the lawn and ponds are great for relaxing. All around great family historical location to visit, we always make our way here when we stay in St. Louis and the enhanced Covid measures are assuring.

I have visited the arch many times, both before and after it was made a national park. The recent upgrades have made visits a lot more pleasant and convenient. But if you expect it to be anything like the greatest national parks in the country, you would be seriously disappointed. On the whole, I feel it is comparable to the Willis Tower or John Hancock Tower in Chicago. As long as your expectations are reasonable, the arch is an interesting place to spend a few hours.

So much better this year than last. The procedures adopted for Covid were awesome. We were assigned a car, the corresponding windows at the top and given ten minutes. Much better than the chaos of our last visit. Super friendly staff and the museum was very informative. Don't forget to get the junior ranger badge!

Since the St. Louis Arch museum has been expanded, it provides a much more open feeling prior to the expansion. I like the fact that they put a shelf above I-70 to connect the Old Courthouse with the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. Having grown up here and now being able to come here and visit with my own kids makes it so much more rewarding. The elevator cars/train is very unique. You won't see this any where else. It truly is a must see!

Great museum going through the history of St Louis and western expansion as a whole. They say that going up the arch takes 45-60 min but it was about 35 for us. Looking over the city was cool, but if you're claustrophobic I'd skip it.

It was pretty fantastic. Don't ride the pods up to the top if you're claustrophobic. Furthermore if you want good pictures I would bring like a Windex Wipe because there's lots of face prints and fingerprints on the windows.

The Gateway Arch is a must-see when visiting St. Louis, even if you're just driving through. The National Park Service is currently constructing a brand new museum underneath the arch, which is set to open July 8, 2018. The grounds around the museum are currently finished, with new grass and trees in place all around the arch. Having been here several times in the past few years, I was very impressed to see the progress. Definitely worth your time!!

I wouldn t drive six hours for this, but if it s in the way, definitely come here. It s quite the sight, from below it and while in it. You get a good view of the entire city, including the capitol building and the Cardinal Stadium. You ll get to see a museum before you step on too. Beware, you ll have no cell reception deep underground at the entrance

I didn't go in the arch because I've been before. The 5 stars are for the amazing renovation of the entire area since I was last there. It's an entirely new landscape. Beautiful and immaculate. Kudos to St. Louis for the great makeover.

Definitely a unique experience. Educational info covers not only the building of this marvel but the time period as well. My son and husband are history buffs and loved it. Strongly suggest online reservations and go in the morning if possible. We went towards end of day and the arch was very crowded and it took away from the ability to enjoy it. The trip to the top of the arch is definitely not for people with claustrophobia. The trip up to top is in a very small "pod" crammed with five people. I did not enjoy it but I do very poorly in small spaces. My other family members were fine.
