Our family got a chocolate pie. There was an inch and a half of whipped cream. When we tasted the pie it was chocolate pudding and not pie filling. This is the second bad experience in recent times so I doubt any of us will be back.

literally disgusting pies are sold here. Its basicslly pudding. I coul've made my own pies. I waited in line for hours to buy 5 pies, instead i should've went somewhere else to buy them. The strawberry one had alot of whip cream, the only good thing about it was the actual strawberries, and the chocolate one was the main one with the disgusting flavor of pudding in a pie. It was a waste of money. Its the first and last place to get pies.

In the past three months, I've had 3 pies from Fly...

In the past three months, I've had 3 pies from Flying Saucer. And they all have been very different...our first pie was a strawberry cream pie and it was one of the best pies we've ever had. We couldn't wait to go back but I wish we had stuck with the strawberry cream...next time out, we took home a chocolate cream pie (ignoring the dire warning from another review on this page about the chocolate pie). I couldn't believe this was from the same place. The crust was okay but the chocolate really wasn't pie filling....it was more of a weak chocolate pudding. But the worst part was the top half of the pie which was what their web page optimistically calls a "non-dairy whipped topping". I don't know exactly what that means, but this topping wasn't good. It had very little flavor, was not at all sweet, and had a greasy, oily aftertaste. For the first time in my 51 years, we threw away half of a chocolate cream pie. But we still had memories of that great strawberry cream pie, so we didn't want to give up on Flying Saucer. So we went back to break the tie. Unfortunately, our third pie didn't settle the argument as it was half good and half bad. We got a Boston Cream Pie and the bottom half was good...yellow cake and a cream filling. But, inexplicably, the top half was not coated with chocolate icing like every other Boston Cream Pie in the world, but was topped with an inch of that same nasty "non-dairy whipped topping" that was featured on the chocolate cream pie.
We had friends over that night and all 6 of us agreed that topping was not good...proving it wasn't just a matter of my own personal taste. But we discovered if we scraped off that whipped topping and spread some chocolate icing on it, the Boston Cream Pie was pretty good. But why go through that effort if I can buy a good, true, chocolate iced Boston Cream Pie from Kroger or Marie Callender's or Mrs Smith for half the cost? So my recommendation...if you're in the area, stop in and get a strawberry cream pie. But don't go out of your way and whatever you do, avoid the chocolate cream and Boston cream pies.

Iconic pie house just north of the Heights; they have a limited menu but by golly they have a lot of pies! Choose from fruit pies, cream pies, cheesecakes, and some seasonal options. Just walking in the door smells like heaven! Most of the year, you can buy by the slice, but not at high traffic times around the holidays.

Really disappointed! I bought a Strawberry Cheesecake and as I was walking to my car the strawberries leaked all over my shirt. I handed the box to my sister to clean my shirt and it continued to leak from the bottom of the box and all over my sister's hands. I immediately turned around and went back inside. I was told they would just take off some of the strawberry topping and put it in a new box. When they opened the box the cheesecake had turned to mush because there was too much of that strawberry gooey syrup type topping. I then asked for just a plain cheesecake and the lady said they didn't have any and just gave me a refund with an attitude like I was inconveniencing her. Not one employee there seemed to care that I had strawberry on my shirt or that my sister had strawberry all over her hand. We had to ask for a napkin instead of them offering one. Not one employee said something to the tune of I'm sorry. Horrible customer service! I have been coming here for years and even stand in those long lines the day before Thanksgiving. I guess I will be sleeping in this coming Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving! Shame on you for not caring about your loyal customers!

I give Flying Saucer Pie Co., a 5 star rating based on personal experience. My family has been celebrating special occasions with Flying Saucer pies for over 20 years. For most of the year, the average in and out time range is 5-10 minutes. Flying Saucer is very popular during the holidays, so expect a long line.

I recommend the strawberry creme, and the coconut cream pie.

Love these pies! Just going into the store was such a great experience, the smell of pies is so good and the staff is very helpful. They recommended their best seller, strawberry pie. Apple pie and pumpkin pie were so delicious too. Totally worth the long drive.

It's exciting to go and wait in line to get our anual Thanksgiving day desserts from this infamous place. We look forward to the delicious strawberry cream and apple pies made from scratch. The staff is very attentive, friendly and courteous despite the high demand of the season. This place is definitely a holiday tradition for our family.

This is my to-go for dessert! I agree with other reviews that it may not necessarily be the best tasting. However, for the unbeatable prices, convenience and availability, it is worth the trip! They always have a variety of pies available at all times. With bakeries and dessert shops, there is always a possibility that they deplete their supply but not Flying Saucer!

I got the Dutch apple pie and the pecan pie. I stopped in on the August 13,2019. Driving to doctors and saw this pie shop so I stopped in to buy a regular apple pie ended up buying two different pies. I normally do not eat sweets or fruit pies. But I have to say they were the best pie I've ever eaten. Two thumbs up

Every Year I buy my pies for Thanksgiving at the Flying Saucer, but even during the year my family goes to try a slice of different flavors of pies.
One year I got up so early with my kids that a radio station set up and gave us T-shirts...it was a great experience.
Sometimes at party gatherings someone brings a pie from Flying Saucer and this company is the talk of the party.
I am so glad this a one company family own business.

My wife and I have been coming here for years and love the pies; they re great for holidays or an after dinner treat. No more. I took a walk today and stopped in front of the store to check my phone. At that moment, the manager pulled up and approached me. She was rude, insulting, and confrontational, accusing me of loitering and even dumping some furniture that was on the property. There was no reason or provocation for this ill treatment. In the future, we will buy our pies somewhere else.
