Superbly diverse menu. Very varied and interesting choices. Great atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good choice of beers and a bread and butter pudding to die for. Do yourselves a favour and pay them a visit.

Overrated. And definitely not worth the journey from Newcastle. The food was billed as spectacular, but it simply wasn't on either of my visits. The pub itself is lovely, and perhaps I need to visit again but without eating. It would be a dream stop on a country walk.
You cannot fault The Feathers Inn. It has a wonderful charm about it, and serves fantastic food to go with it. The Sunday lunch is particularly good, so reservations in advance are definitely needed. Really good selection of beers and other drinks and friendly happy staff.
The pub is lovely there three little sitting area they had the log burner on its so nice my husband had fish and chips i had the Roe pie with was very tasty we will be going back
This is an exceptional pub with excellent food and beer. The attention to detail on the plate is second to none. The chef obviously loves good food and the staff are very attentive and friendly. I am from Ireland and would consider this to be the best of English pub grub. I will certainly be back.
Excellent food, drink, service; generous portions - what more could you ask for? Well, perhaps a taxi, if you don't live in Hedley on the Hill! Quaint selection of bar/dining areas, and a small yard-type beer garden out the back.
I think this restaurant is traditionally g on past reputations. We saw in The local press that there was a new vegan menu. No sign of this when we visited so disappointed. Also service was really poor. We were given desert menu to consider but waitress never came back as she was too busy talking to barman. Out taxi then came and we had to rush to pay our bill. Will not be going back.
The best Pub of 2018. It is deserved between the idyllic location the atmosphere the bar the superb garden and the admirable gourmet meal ... it's worth 20 out of 20
Not cheap, but gourmet food generally generates commensurate prices. The beef we had was tasty but very chewy (disappointing) however my son had the pork and it was excellent. The starters were nice, as was the sweet. Recommend booking ahead, we hit lucky with a cancellation.
The Feathers took our party of 13 at very short notice on a Friday night. The food and service were simply excellent and we couldn't have asked for more. Thank you again.
Been wanting to go here for years, after hearing so many rave reviews.
Set in Hedley this gastro pub promises local, seasonal food simply cooked.
We arrived and we sat in a back room away from the main bar area. It was a bit stuffy but quiet. After some time a casually dressed waitress came and took our drinks order. They have an excellent selection of local ales and craft beers and largers.
The menu was rather limited with about 5 choices for each course. I opted for the charcuterie of local meats to share. It composed of guinea fowl terrine, wild boar salami, chicken liver pate, roe deer, sourdough bread and celeriac remulade. It was delicious and a generous portion.
I wasn t too impressed by the mains but decided on falafel with cous cous and hummus. This was a complete let down: bland cous cous and hummus that resembled peas pudding.
My partner had the venison Wellington which looked delicious, with home made flaky pastry new potatoes and veg.
We would have opted for desserts (which did sound much more exciting) but we were totally stuffed.
Interestingly it used to be in the Michelin Guide, however the last review was 2015 and it s probably easy to see why.
With some tweaks, this place could have a wow factor and I might give it another go in the future but for now it s more a place to stop off for light lunch and a nice pint, than a gastronomic experience.
A delicious meal with excellent service and attention. Great beef, good size portions, friendly and welcoming staff in a snug Inn atmosphere. Our desserts and coffee were delicious too. I can warmly recommend this.
Excellent locally sourced food served in a tiny but very authentic pub. Good range of local beers too. We went on a very snowy night and were unable to fully appreciate the atmosphere as we were constantly checking the weather to see if we could get home!
Food is exceptionally high quality. All homemade and executed to perfection. Tonight we had a delicious North Sea fish soup, homemade sausages with ale gravy and mash, and a poached pear, blackberry and toasted almond tart with clotted cream. Would eat here every day if that was an option.
Excellent local cuisine. Had the venison. It was tender and very tasty. Plus the restaurant is very cosy and warm. This is all enhanced by the beautiful countryside. Oh, and all this at an affordable price.
Amazing food. Wonderful pub. Great staff. My Mrs and I loved the food in this place. We can't say enough good things about The Feathers. Others seem to think its pricey, but it's very reasonable if you are coming from London/southeast, and is as good if not better that a lot of places in London.
Good Northumberland pub. Great selection of beer and award winning food which is obviously produced in house. They even do a wine pairing for the excellent puds . Car park is a bit small. Would recommend booking.
Faultless in every way. The food is simply *unbelievable* and exceptional value. Helen and Rhian and their staff always extend a warm welcome to regulars and first timers alike. My partner and I agree that if we win the lottery, 1st on the list is a house in the village so we can visit daily!
Really good Sunday lunch. The beef was superb. Catered for a large group really well. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Out of the way, but worth the visit.
Lovely Sunday lunch. The four of us had a different starter before all having the beef for main course. The staff were friendly, going for an informal approach. Only blot on the landscape was a lengthy wait due to staff shortages. Otherwise would have been 5 star.
Great response to staying safe during the pandemic. Their surf and turf, al fresco dining and fire pits were a welcome change after lockdown. Staff were lovely and friendly too. Thank you for a lovely evening and amazing food.
Fantastic traditional food with the chef's own twist, has a daily changing menu served by very friendly staff. An absolute gem hidden away. The pub has a selection of gastronomic literature on display all around the venue, and an awesome inspiring trophy collection on display, demonstration that the food is truly spectacular!
The food was lovely and all made on the premises. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and the building is old and atmospheric. A very pleasant visit.
Michelin quality locally sourced food, even down to the locally sourced flour for the bread. Absolutely fantastic. Very small and quaint, so would recommend making a reservation.
Had an amazing meal here as part of the eat out help out scheme, all cooked in the outdoor fire kitchen. Such a peaceful setting and the food is fantastic!
