The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Review

Nothing bad about this place,not for the faint of wallet though.

Initially the guy that greeted us was a bit rude but our waiter and the food made up for that. Stunning views of the lake.

Everything was really great, rooms were just slightly smaller than I'm used to. The rest of the stay was awesome, and the view from the room was amazing!

Amazing and beautiful hotel right at the stunning Lake Louise. Definitely a view that worth more than a million dollars.

This is a very nice place. I'm glad that my work was flipping the bill as there is no way I would be able to afford to stay here. The employees were very nice, even when I noticed people yelling at them. They were nice back to the mean man and continued to perform their job as they were expected to. The food in the restaurants was very tasty and the views are fantastic.

Great views although many rooms have carpark views. Staff try hard but need more experience and training. Restaurant however very poor, food served cold, undercooked, despite being sent back. Service very slow. This is a hotel valued for its history and fantastic location, hardly a world class 5 star though. While there a car accident damaged the power supply, guests advised to use the surrounding forest as no bathrooms were functional

Very busy and the prices are way up there. Nice location though.

Stopped by the hotel for a drink at the bar. Beautiful ambiance and views. Definitely worth a stop if you're looking for a nice place to relax.

The only thing we wish is for them to lower the price. Would love to come back after winning another lottary.

The decoration of the hotel is gorgeous and stunning.

Wonderful hotel, lovely place nestled in the forest. We enjoyed lunch and taking photos here. It was colgan outside, but that didn't stop us from exploring.

Lovely rooms. Staff are amazing and the hotel in general was just fantastic.

The ice statues were beautiful and the outdoor bar was very stylish. Ice skating on the frozen lake was fun. Skate rentals were 20 dollars for two hours. Great vacation spot.

Visited Lake Louise and ventured into the hotel to warm up and grab a coffee. Seemed like a nice place.

Lake louise is an amazing area. The lodge is right next to the lake with beautiful views. The lodge has several shops such as a 24/7 market and gift shops as well as good views to the outside lake. Only issue is that it can get a little crowded with lots of tourists.

Wow! I stayed here for a conference and it was truly a beautiful experience. The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There were plenty of amenities to choose from. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. I only wish we stayed here longer!

This is an absolutely incredible and beautiful place. I ve spent the last few days here on retreat and have absolutely loved every aspect of this resort. The food has been phenomenal.

Everything from the spa facilities, to the restaurants to the kind, and friendly staff were wonderful. Even with snow on the ground the walking trails were beautiful and calming.

I highly recommend this resort.

Crowded during weekend, the food was not great and rather expensive.

Excellent location right by the lake. Canoeing is also cheaper for Fairmont guests conpared to visitors/non-guests. Overall service was excellent.

Beautifull hotel with breathtaking views! Had a lakefront king junior suite. Very nice bed very clean. You get a free pass to canoe around the lake which is nice because those not staying at the hotel pay 125 per hour!
Free good coffee at the deli main floor all day till midnight. Resturants on site very very expensive. But the village is a quick drive with reasonable prices. BYOB as it is insane the markup anywhere in the area.
Would stay again.

Excellent, professional and clean. The staff were amazing - especially while this pandemic is going on. Its also very comforting to know that the rooms were disinfected and left alone for 48 hours before my husband and I checked in! They provided masks and wipes. Would highly recommend!

Great experience ice skating on the frozen like. Absolutely astobidhing view. The chateau rents ice skates, although they are a bit pricey.

Great lunch in lobby lounge. Kristen and Megan were excellent servers and wonderful ambassadors of the company. I was disappointed with a person in concierge because when I asked about gluten free options in the hotel, it was obvious she really didn't know other than to say that "we have gf options". Luckily the staff in the Lobby Lounge were more confident in their menu knowledge. Great food for the whole group!

We went for dinner after the hike. It is beautiful hotel. Our table had a nice view of Lake Louis. My entree was on salty side but it did get to me until.half way through. Other entree 1st course and dessert were good. Service was excellent.

Lake Louise is amazing. The Fairmont Chateau though is mostly just a fancy hotel. Theres a few shops here but nothing to write home about.

I love this place. Quiet, secluded, and just great all around. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is fantastic! Hiking to the glacier plateau was invigorating. Have been a few times and will go back. Don't stay to long as it's very pricy.

Was there for an event. Well executed and professional.

Feels very safe inside the Fairmont with all the mesure for the covid 19

Not inexpensive, but worth every penny. Stay in the Temple Wing for larger and more newly renovated rooms.

Hotel shows its age but is a good spot for Banff culture and hiking

We didn't stay here but visited. Lots of tourists here as it is right on the lake but the hotel is gorgeous of course. Top notch service and amenities from what we could tell. If you can afford to stay here with a view of the lake it would certainly be breathtaking but you'll pay through the nose for that privilege.

Spectacular turn-of-the-last-century architecture and furnishings all historically accurate and precise. Merely looking around from the front entrance is an experience. Sadly-unused grand piano in front of the Lakeside room, however. Like a gym-tuned physique it was meant to be more than looked at and admired..

Great stay, facility relatively old compared with other Fairmont hotels, however the view and services was amazing! Must have: sunrise and canoe!

I went there for the yearly outdoor event they have on the grounds facing the lake. (Ice Magic). A very beautiful landscape and backdrop to professionally carved ice sculptures, skating rinks, carriage rides and more. My group went inside to the hotel for warmth and refreshments. Unfortunately some the the service that we're usually open to the public was was exluded for hotel guest only.

Love it when we find a hotel with a concierge with the golden keys that are also down to earth. Food was delicious, as always. We were there during the Ice magic festival- top 10 in the world. There were so many things to do. Our favorite part - we brought the pup. So the whole family was able to enjoy. We felt so welcomed by everyone. Brittany watched our dog so that we could enjoy and afternoon tea. We will be back again. Thank you for the hospitality.

Beautiful scenery and kind staffs..Lobby lounge restaurnat is only available to hhe hotel guests. If you can feel the harmony with traditional and modern style, then this would be your best option.

I went for the ice magic festival, it was good as usual, the hotel staff are very polite.

Walked up the hill to see the lake, what a beautiful place.

This is an extremely beautiful hotel with perfect views of Lake Louise. The interiors are just amazing. The hotel is definitely more expensive than hotels in the Banff and Jasper area but it is worth it.

A bit remote, but a beautiful Chateau with a lake like no other. Stunning really with skating and ice carving included in the winter months

Didn't stay overnight, rather visited to go skating and enjoy the quintessentially Canadian atmosphere. Beautiful scenery, of course, and friendly people all around. Only downside is the limited food/beverages available to non-hotel guests, particularly during busy periods (ie christmas/new years).

Excellent service and everything you need is right in the Hotel.

This place is truly beautiful, I really enjoyed kayaking there, and the hotel is exceptional.

Slightly underwhelmed for the price of the room...it's small. The atmosphere is nice, but not sure if worth the cost of admission.

Over priced for what you get!!<br/>Service in restaurants slow and the food was marginal. We had dinner at the Alpine and the dinner took forever and when it came we were missing most of our dinner.<br/>Went on a company retreat and probably never return.<br/>better to stay in a super 8 and find a real restaurant.<br/>Not worth the cost!!!<br/>I have had better service at a holiday inn

A must visit if you're in the area, there is always something to see or do no matter the season.

Breathtaking scenery, beautiful hotel. Crowds were overwhelming, but that's to be expected. Outdoor enthusiasts should not miss the hikes to the teahouses, which take you away from the crazy crowd up into the gorgeous mountains above. The teahouse food is incredible!!

Dined at the Poppy and the food was spectacular, the sommelier from the sister restaurant even came and brought us a bottle from their cellar. Food and Wine was 10/10. The service fell short by a mile, our server was clearly too busy to give any of his tables proper service and I saw him (literally) running from table to table. Wine glasses empty, water glasses empty, never checked in on how our food was until plates were nearly empty, cutlery brought out after food was placed on the table, dirty dishes left on the table, there was rotten lettuce in my salad, when I pointed it out to him, it was cleared and never mentioned again and he never brought a replacement. On our bill I was over charged for both my food and my wine.

I expected much more from a place of this caliber.

Beautiful grand hotel. Amazing views of the lake. Had a decent burger and poutine. The manager didn t seem very nice though

It is spectacular as a nova Scotian the scenery is a wonder

Fine dining atmosphere as expected. Professional service. Wagu beef burger outstanding while lobster mac n cheese just average.

Food was overpriced at the restaurant and the service wasn't great.

Visiting as often as possible, we hiked nearly to the glacier at the far side of the lake. Almost 3 hours of round trip hiking. The waterfalls and trail are breathtaking and deserve a whole day to take it all in.

Drove up here at night for a skate. The grounds were beautiful but the ice was a bit patchy. I don't think they must flood it very often. Tried to go here last fall but it was full of leafers so the parking lot was full and we were rerouted back to the highway. I would recommend avoiding peak seasons and times for a visit.

Was there only to visit. Decor, furnishings service were amazing

The Fairmont is one of my favorite hotels. The rooms are excellent, restoration and bars are great too.

Hot chocolate infused with Bailey's out of this world. Must for all visitors in winter month's to try.

The location is obviously gorgeous and the building itself is lovely, but I was additionally surprised and pleased to find out that they allow you to stay with your dogs. If you book in advance, they can sometimes find staff members to dog-sit while you go for dinner or on an Excursion - it was a really excellent Added Touch!

Went to lake Louise to ice skate and snow shoe. One of the most beautiful places I have visited.

I chose Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise for one night for 8th anniversary of our wedding anniversary. I was very much disappointed with my stay. The room condition was far below my expectations. Heating was not working properly. We even called maintenance, who came and spend 10-15 mins. It seemed like no maintenance was done to heating system before, based on the work maintenance guy was doing. And even his work did not help, we spend freezing and disappointing night.

It was beautiful inside. Great food and great service.

Amazing place to stay! Couldn t have asked for better service or comfort. Even if you don t stay here it is certainly worth a visit!
