I'm giving 4 stars because there were a couple of things that I didn't like but those are personal preferences. Others would feel differently. So, let me talk about the good things. Unbelievable, mesmerizing view. If you don't mind walking up 4 flights, get the private balcony room. Remember, this is an old, historic place. Nothing modern about it. Plenty of atmosphere. The grounds are very nice. The restaurant is quite good but a limited menu. I thoroughly enjoyed breakfast. The staff is excellent. Courteous, friendly and helpful. I'd like tho give a special shout out to Kam. Kam is a high school senior who has been working in various capacities at the Emerson Inn for 4 years. He plans on continuing his education in the hospitality industry. He will do wonderfully. He was our waiter. He assisted with our luggage. He provided directions and offered advice. I can't say enough about him. Here made a good experience better
